Why did wait until Atiku rob the southerns before turning around
It was the southern govs in the pdp that allowed Atiku to outplay them courtesy of Gov Okowa of Delta. The south has the most govs in the PDP, yet they failed to bring the presidential slot to the south. Okowa was the leader of the southern govs forum, who would secretly go behind the others and leak every move and plans to Atiku Abubakar. In the APC, despite the North had the most govs, was able to accept power should return to the south for equity, fairness, and justice. Those southerners who still believes Atiku, a northerner, and fulani should succeed Buhari, who is also a northerner, and fulani needs to have their heads examined at the psychiatric.

It is unfortunate that my brothers in the South do not understand Nigeria politics and that is the reason they will continue to play a second fiddle role to the North. If one party had decided to pick a candidate from the South, yet we hate that candidate with passion, then what justifcation do we have to cry when the power go back to the North. The presidency of any Southerner irrespective of where in the South is a boost and confidence needed for any southern politician gunnig for presidency of Nigeria now or in future. It’s courageous to do the right thing and this is what distinguishes APC from PDP in zoning the presidency to the south. For it’s right to do the right thing for the common good.

If Osibanjo believed in the vision of better Nigeria for all Nigerians he would have resigned long time ago on principle of failure of the administration to uphold and safeguard lives and properties of Nigerians. He did not emerge as the presidential candidate because he was out done in the transactional politics of the APC. A genuine person who cares about Nigerians will not allow himself to be found wallowing in the current mess regardless of the fact that they party was courageous to zone the presidency to the south. If Osibanjo really cares about good governance in Nigeria he would have ensured that a fit and proper presidential candidate emerged from the south. Doing the right goes beyond just zoning the presidency to the south given that the deficiencies are all before our eyes. Hence, Obi/Datti remains the best option.

El Rufai is positioning himself to contest. He will later say it's the time for the north in the future. Good strategy but El Rufais only error would be that the South East hasn't had the presidency and they will continue to tell Nigerians this. Rufais best chance is to support the south East not South West that had produced president Obasanjo.
