The best movie ever. I can watch it again and again and it never gets old. Pacino killed this role
I truly enjoyed the book too! Worth reading 😊
There’s a brilliant 2019 Italian mafia movie called The Traitor and it’s a true story.
Alex Rocco killed his role in this scene as Moe Greene too. Everyone always talking about Pacino. Just fantastic acting.
Да, это самый ВЕЛИКИЙ ФИЛЬМ!!!... . Yes! With From The most mportant and 4he beautiful most in Would history of cinema!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
"You're unlucky". What a brilliant and simple line.
Yeah, great way to insult and provoke him.
Especially considering it’s in Vegas.
Unlucky at a fixed game is saying something.
Right up there with "present company excepted".
How Pacino DIDNT WIN BEST ACTOR for this role is unbelievable. 1 of the best films ever. It stands the test of time.
Don Vito won it
Unmistakable one of the best movies ever made.
Can we all just agree that he talked to Barzini?
I was 13 when I 1st seen it..... at 50 I'm still watching
First hint was Michael not standing to shake his hand 💀
Yep, and I just noticed that Mike sits with his back to Green as Tom is speaking, a sign of disrespect which must have been infuriating for Green,
First hint was Tom’s non-greeting. He looks disgusted to be in the same room with Greene.
@@dparis2172Tom's thinking "great another guy thats gonna wake up with a horse's head"
@@Justen1980 lol. Yes, Tom already knew before the meeting started that it was going to go badly. Moe Greene was another hot-head, just like Jack Woltz & Santino.
didnt someone like Mo Green have muscle? guards etc?
In the book, after telling Fredo never to take sides with anyone against the family, Michael makes it even more menacing and says "I wont even mention it to the Don"😮
Isn't Michael the Don already?
@Mehiel-Sanctoria Well in this scene they say the don is semi retired
The way Pacino says “Ever” at the end is so menacing and foreboding.
Idolatry...
It was brutal at the end of the second movie, the way Michael got back at Fredo. Changing the password on the families Netflix account so Fredo couldn’t watch movies anymore.
Fancy ruining the ending, not even a "spoiler alert"!
@@petermorris9818 Look man, King Kong falls off the building at the end too. There's a statute of limitations on this stuff. Sorry you found out about the Netflix password this way.
And that devastated look on Fredo's face when he couldn't log in and the realization of what happened. Cinema at it's peak.
Then Fredo started to sign up for Amazon Prime and that ignited a family war. Absolute cinema
"You're nothing to me now. You're not a brother. You're not a guest account."
That's What I tried to explain to my kids.Don't ever take sides against the family ever and keep your friends close but your enemies closer
keep your friends close and your enemies toaster
"YOU straightened my brother out?". Said so much
I saw this movie when it came out in the theaters. I can say today at 80 years old, it is still the best movie I have ever seen. I gave seen it many many tomes over the years and still see certain parts I didn't see the first time. I had read the book when it came out, I couldn't put it down, it was the best. I heard before they made the movie that Marlon Brando was going to be Don Corelone and I, being a big Brando fan for years I was intrigued but suspect. Then I sa the movie, I was hooked, Marlon Brando in his best role ever. The entire cast was excellent, evrry single person was awesome. Over the years I have never seen another movie that could compare.
Same here. The story is as haunting as the soundtrack. I married an Italian and I can see the cultural similarities in my husband. Don’t ever take sides against the family. Nuff said.
I pity you. The people in the film are gangsters.
@@MarkJohnson-zy4fd you shouldn't have said that! hehe......
I want to read the book.
@@MarkJohnson-zy4fd Don’t take sides against the Family.
AL PACHINO WASN'T THE LEGEND HE IS NOW BUT AFTER THIS TRILOGY HE CEMENTED HIS NAME AS ONE OF THE GREATEST ACTOR TO EVER BE ON THE SILVER SCREEN !!
One of the BEST MOVIES AROUND CANT BEAT THIS WITH THE SERIOUSNESS OF IT ALL .
In my opinion the greatest movie of all time.
Anyone else out there think that Clemenza was completely underrated...?
The most perfect film you will ever see. Superb acting, superb directing, superb story and characters. An absolute masterpiece.
Sometimes after reading a book, you watch the movie a little afraid -- "What changes are they going to make? Are they going to mess it up?" But this pair of movies are flawless. Such amazing performances by each player. The costumes, the settings, the cars, the haunting music. Fabulous.
This movie is an absolute masterpiece.
Very strange change of voice at 1:18 which has always puzzled me.....
It looks like they dubbed it in a second moment for some reason.
I actually liked Moe Green, especially his entrance in this scene.
It's a nervous gesture, rushing in. He knows why Michael is there and that the meeting means trouble.
Iconic, classic movie... long live the magic of Al Pacino.
just noticed, 0:17, Al Neri's look on Fredo: "What the hell is this guy doing?! The storm is coming, and he plays a good guy..."
Aside from some action, the movie's greatness is found in the characterizations (the actors) & their dialogue. That's it. Little special effects. Nothing bombastic or pretentious. A minimum of violence is used only where necessary. But the dialogue, ah the dialogue -- the expressions on faces -- the tension & conflict -- made this film (story) great.
Al Pacino is a phenomenal actor! It's a shame it took so long for him to be recognized by the Academy
A Giant Leap Forward from horror movies. Nice going, Joblo.
Can never stop watching these fantastic, brilliant movies ❤🎉😂😊
A top 10 movie and probably Pacinos finest performance. Outstanding.
What about Scarface ?
@@Hunter-su5in Good film,but Godfather was his best,IMO.
Lefty Ruggerio in Donnie Brasco beats this out. Godfather is a far better movie, but that performance of Lefty made me almost feel bad for him. Phenomenal.
@@kylkoneski Yes,great performance, but i would've gone for Scent of a Woman actually. Thanks for the feedback.
@@chuckselvage3157 Agree with you on Scent Of A Woman - just a hairs width in front of his performance in The Godfaher.
I know this film like the back of my hand but I watch it again and again to revel in the stunningly good writing, acting and cinematography…..no one makes movies of this calibre any more, so sad….
*i TALKED to barzini..........* 😄
And this sealed his fate...
@@beverlydavis1854 He's talking about the clear voice dub
I'm happy I wasn't the only one who's always noticed this
This was his death sentence
Often it is the little touches that make a masterpiece. 1:30 the reaction shot as he realizes the meeting is quickly getting away from him
Yes, because right there and then he knew he could get whacked for that. When he lifts his hands off of the table there is a sense of trembling.
I was 18 years old first time I saw Godfather. Unforgettable both being 18 and watching Godfather…
Me too Andy. Walked out of the theatre blown away.
I first watched it at 12 years old. What in the hell took you so long?
@@moonytheloony6516 being six years older than you in 1972 had a lot to do with it…
@@moonytheloony6516that’s funny! I was 15, so I was ahead of them, too! 😊
@@andygrenn680 🥴
When he said that he spoke with Barzini, even though he was a partner with the Corleones, he sealed his fate.
Moe moves the drink forward when he sits - but the glass returns back to its place. It’s a hint that he is going to die by getting a shot at his eye glass. What a direction !!😮😮😮
Thank you for sharing with us!
Lol Michael got straight to it
He did, he wasn’t even thinking about wasting time.
02:49 - that "EVER" is the most menacing in the entire trilogy IMHO.
"I talked to Barzini." lmao
Just finished watching the trilogy…….first two…MASTERPIECES…..the third…very good
agreed
Third one was a little late. The thrill was pretty much gone, but A Few good performances ( Andy Garcia).
Third awful.
It's such a beautifully acted scene. Perfection..
The look on Michael's face when he asks Moe, "you slapped my brother around in public?" Is the same look he had when talking to Sen. Geary after he insulted Michael's family and Italian heritage. You just know things aren't going to end well.
Lots of The Godfathers iconic scenes (house, wedding, christening) were filmed I. My hometown of Staten Island.
Amazing movie for saturday night
Alex Rocco. His best on screen moments.
Very good. Nicely done.
One of the greatest movies made.
The way his voice changed when he said “I talk to Barzini”.
"I talked to barzini" crazy how much his voice changed during those lines
James Earl Jones voice dubbed in for that line. I forget the technical reason for that edit.
Read the book in high school. I have been reading ever since.
My god what a movie.
Best character and acting, period. Michael Corleone 🙌
Masterpiece ❤
Grateful ...wonderful 🙏 art 🎨
The definition of escalating quickly
Una joya de película me conmueven cada una de las actuaciones de éstos grandes actores que participaron en la película sin duda orgullo de Hollywood
*"You had to straighten my brother out?"* That's when I knew Moe was done.
Moe knew it too, it's the only thing he backs down on and tries to explain to Mike. Everything else he feels rock solid on.
Leave the gun, take the cannoli…..love that scene.
I thought it was gun, not guy
@@molamolalaaa2968 it was sorry…auto correct got me.
LOL at a hotel owner thinking he can out-muscle a professional gang of murderers.
Best Ever 🖤
Fredo is so dumb and weak in this scene. His family doesn’t trust him, so he had no clue what Michael was planning. Then Michael calls out Moe for hitting his brother in public which showed no respect for the family…then Fredo defends Moe for hitting him and then tried to work with Tom to convince the Godfather to prevent Michael from buying out Moe. Michael had no choice to take out Fredo since he was a liability who would get you killed or ended up in jail…which Fredo almost did in the Godfather Part 2.
So realistic! Moving.
Arcydzieło.
Brilliant absolutely brilliant.. got the full collection and ive worn it out.
You think I’m skimming off the top Mike?? 😂 lol so defensive
I got a business to run. I gotta kick asses sometimes to make it run right 😂
Michael looking at Joe like my grandma looked at us when we acted up in someone else’s home. DANGER ‼️
You notice that when Moe spoke to Tom, he kinda looked down and away. Like Clemenza and Tessio in the novel, Tom knew that Moe was a dead man. In my opinion, Moe was dead even if he was bought out. Of course, the Corleones knew he would not agree. Vito said in the novel that Moe wasn't a man he wanted to meet with.
Such a family liability Fredo 😂😂
“I taaawked to Bahzeeeneee”
It’s strange they had to dub over the words “I talked to Barzini”
"You straightened my brother out?"
They didn't even get the free chips
There should've been a scene with Fredo and a few cocktail waitresses.
If Fredo had just listened to Michael he wouldn't have gone "fishing" that day
He still might have went fishing.. but would have returned with fish for dinner lol
" Do you know who I am, I'm Moe Greene, a man about to take a bullet in my eye while getting a massage " 😂😂
Moe Green better “keep his eye” on them.
Dont take ever side with anyone to againts family again. Never... Not quote but this movie but for the life.
Never, go against; the family
The Corleones were wiping out all of their enemies.
Quando Moe Greene disse que falou com Barzini ele assinou sua sentença de morte kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk.
He never would have talk to a boss like that. He would have gotten his head stomped in. Only in the movie's would this happen
Soon : "Barzini's dead, so is Phillip Tattaglia, Moe Greene, Stracci, Cuneo ... ".
It's hard to pinpoint when Moe signed his death warrant
Probably when he said he talked to barzini
Coming into someone's casino and behaving like that is jerkish
BOSS SCENE
Moe slapped Fredo around because he was no longer beholden to Don Corleone. He was making a deal with Don Barzini as Michael ferreted out of him during this meeting. Michael was giving Moe an out by letting the Corleone's buy him out or he might get a bullet in his eye while getting a massage. We all know which path Moe chose.
Better than the second one.
Agree.
Moe Greene had a short temper and was unable to keep his mouth closed when he needed to. Just like the Santino during the Sollozo meeting, Moe Greene ran his mouth off carelessly.
I buy you out, you don’t buy me out
The begginig of the end,,, of Fredo
0:20
Fredo was warned …
If only Freddo had listened to that…
imo Mike was more disrespectful towards Fredo here, i would've been like shut the fk up bro
Fredo pulls the chair for Moe...WTF
A film (and book) that teaches young men what it means to be a man.
Moe makes me think of Harrison Ford
Good thing tom was there ‘L’
2:43..." but ".
