  • Great interview. I miss Wladimir. I remember so many years ago, before the masks, before the Empire, it was Vitali who was the best Klitschko. He fought Lewis and did great...fight was stopped because of a cut and I will never forget how not one commentator or professional ever seemed to pick up on the fact that it was a nasty cut from a missed punch by Lewis that slashed/tore the side of Vitali's eye which was why the cut was so nasty. It was not from a clean punch at all. I'll never forget that and to this day, I've still never heard anyone say anything about that but if not for that punch, it was a dog fight between those two. I remember not being overly impressed by Wladimir. He was built up along with Vitali so high and this out of shape, semi-pro tough guy southpaw from South Africa, with great walk out music that I never caught the name of, Cory Sanders, absolutely crushed Wladimir so badly that Vitali had to come back for the Klitschko honour and beat the daylights out of Sanders. Sanders was dangerous in that fight as well but had no stamina, out of shape as was his way, and Vitali far more craftier got him tired and took vengeance. Those were the days. Shame Vitali had to retire early. Then Fury came on scene. These 2 legends having these moments are a treat for all time.
