  • I always thought the creepers were made by ancient players to serve as terraformers. I mean luring a creeper to a hill and detonating it is one of the easiest ways to clear land. The fact that iron golems don’t attack them also ties into this because players wouldn’t instruct their guards to kill a valuable mining machine, the same way you wouldn’t instruct a tank to shoot an excavator

    • I think if they did, they only improved or manipulated it, not making it from scratch. If they really built it as a tool, they wouldn't have made it try to stand so close to them before exploding. And no, they can't be malfunctioning. There are too many of them for that to be true.

  • String is more used like hair in the minecraft world. Upon killing a strider, they drop string because they have wispy hair. With cats, them dropping string as a gift or as their loot could represent a hairball or whiskers. String is also able to be turned into wool blocks, which wool is sheep hair. Thus string as loot in the same chest as rotten flesh and bones most likely also represents hair.

    @muyandos@muyandos Жыл бұрын
    • I was guessing bandages, following the mummy analogue. And that cats just like playing with string, so it can sometimes be found on them. Imagine a children's game allowing to murder a cat and use it's whiskers as raw material...

      @ooi97@ooi97 Жыл бұрын
    • @@ooi97 mm, paper would have been better if they wanted to convey bandages because it looks similar. Though I guess mummy wraps are linen, and that’s made out of woven fibers, so you could be correct For the cat thing, there are many other questionable mob drops that don’t seem appropriate for a kids’ game, such as turtles dropping a bowl when struck by lightning or even just cows dropping leather. You don’t even need to tan it before using it. You just take their raw skin and make armor out of it!

  • Something i just remembered regarding the cat connection to ancient Egypt is that in earlier versions cats were just tamed Ocelots, Which are essentially the kind of cats that domesticated the ancient Egyptians. Only after more development they added cats and made them separate from Ocelots which coincidentally further tells the real world story of cats domesticating/enslaving humans.

    @Free_Krazy@Free_Krazy2 жыл бұрын
  • This falls apart in a couple of places: creepers and ocelots are natural enemies, and cats used to be tamed ocelots before they were introduced in villages. Hence the fear of cats. The Mojang team actually wanted the eye of Horus on the temple but couldn't make it work that small, so the Ankh was 2nd choice. The string in chests along with the flesh, bones and gunpowder are the drops of the OG mobs: spider, skeleton, zombie and creeper. Didn't know about tnt inside the creeper. That does suggest they're man-made. But that's honestly the only clue along with the creeper face in chiseled sandstone. This man must do a lot of yoga to stretch this far.

The only thing a creeper attacks is the player, unless a skeleton shoots it or something. 3. Cats also hiss, like creepers I used to think creepers were blind. When a cat hisses, the creeper is scared because it thinks it’s another creeper, as it can’t see that it is indeed a cat.

Look at the Ancient Egyptian god Bast (unsure spelling) a cat god who protected Amun-Ra, the sun god, through the underworld. Cats are still used to ward off nightmares. (Explanations the phantoms running away they’re waking nightmares) So creepers running away my because of that.

  • The artificial creeper theory has to be correct and I have a theory of why the ancient builders did it. They may have wanted better security than a booby trap that destroys the valuables it's protecting when triggered, so they probably designed the creeper to be an extra set of protection but they managed to escape the deserts and explore the world. This means that for the builders the creepers ignored them but they attack us because they view us as hostile since they haven't been explicitly told that we are safe.

    • I personally think it looks very similar to the Mesoamerican pyramids, but it's underwater. The structure looks like it was made underwater, but it also might've been on land, but it just slowly submerged into the water. And for the guardians, I think the civilization created them to guard their underwater creations.

They could've just used the word "adapted" but they didnt. They were definitely trying to hint something.

    • @@JoshBlueMoon5 when you're writing a book, the words you use MATTER. You wouldn't use the word program to describe any of these things, because that just isn't the correlation most people make with naturally occurring events. The word "program" was likely used specifically for a reason, as it's a strange word to use OUTSIDE of the context of "manually made/planned." Basically, the original comment has reason to consider that sentence, and no writer would use the word "program" to talk abt naturally occurring things, unless it was to make a specific point.
