Street Legends is a three-part series that looks at athletes who dominate their niche sport while giving us a look at the duality of their lives. While they are hyped in the streets as "legends," they still go through the mundane tasks of everyday life. We see the trials and tribulations of our athletes as they try to take their careers to the next level, push their niche stardom as far as possible or just use their sport as an escape from the ordinary nature of day-to-day living.
In this episode, we meet Evan Bourgoin, an infamous arm wrestling figure who is defending his belt on the local circuit.

The funniest part was near the end (it started around the 9min mark at the event) and they show the two contestants in the main event. First, they should Evan drinking from a glass of beer before going up for the main event....and while they are introducing Evan, his opponent is eating a chocolate bar. Hehehe That is one thing you can't knock about armwrestling....Zero fucks are given about what the outsiders say or think. Evan is a contestant in Devon Larratt's, 'Bottom 8' tournament coming up in April in Ottawa. As long as he gets through his first match, I predict that he will win the whole thing. A lot o the guys in the tournament aren't' really pro level, but they all have stories. Some of the guys, like Evan, actually are really good. It should be an awesome even to watch. I'm in Nova Scotia and I am thinking about travelling to watch it live.
Michael R. Ryan Bowen owned everyone that day. It sucks they could not do Bottom 8 2 last month due to this Covid shit. I was actually Planning on going to Canada from the US to watch it. Oh well, hopefully we will get it sooner than later but who knows.

Being from Canada I can verify that it is essentially one great big subarctic trailer park. some still do live in igloos but most of us have moved into trailers /mobile homes. beer is cheaper than water and much safer too. our immigration policy is , 'if you can get here , youre in!' its just a wonderful, wonderful country getting better all the time

I'm glad arm wresting night still is happening there. We never missed a night and this was 33 years ago. Ironworkers, rod busters, cement finishers, wood tics, wire pullers, roofers and lots military boys all having fun getting drunk and seeing who had more skill and force. So the winner isn't getting rich. ...A gold coin valued at $1000 has been added to the winner's prize for the Botton 8 that is happening in about a month. Evan will dominate.

@@bjornragnarsson8692 - Ryan Bowen put up $1000 dollars from his 'Pound for Pound' league as the main cash prize, but then a donation of a Gold Coin, valued at $1000 dollars was made to add to the top prize. I have also heard that there are some side bets between some of the guys pulling as well. I know for a fact that Bowen and Chris Gobby have a $500 bet on a Let handed match after they pull with the right in the opening round of the tournament. That is easy money for Gobby. Like Chris says, Bowen is maybe a 2 (essentially an amateur) on Gobby's 1 to 5 rating scale hehe Sure, Bowen might beat him on the right, but he is goign to have like 30kg's on Gobby. Gobby's left is absolutely killer..especially when you consider that he only weighs like 73 kg (160 lbs) when he is in shape.
@@bjornragnarsson8692 - The biggest issue that Devon is going to run into with the Bottom 8 is having guys not being able to make it across the Canadian border. They all think that they are going to be able to get in, but none of them have made 'absolutely sure' that they won't have an issue. I've heard that Soublier might have an issue..and I know for a fact that Arten let his Russian passport expire and only has a Green card in the states. I think he will be okay...but there still is chance. I am Canadian and I have had American friends get turned away at the border and denied entry due to a fist fight that they had in 1984. I am not joking. I've heard of people getting turned away for just being arrested..and that arrest not turning into a conviction. But just being arrested 10 years earlier made them ineligible for entry. It is crazy sometimes. Devon just announced that Frank the bodybuilder he pulled in an exhibition at an Expo a few years ago, is going to be in attendance and serving as the alternate for the event. In my opinion, he should line up 2 or 3 alternates because I would bet money that someone isn't going to make it, get turned away or drop out at the last minute. I'd bet someone $100, if they wanted to make a bet.

The 'Bottom 8' Tournament is approaching soon! I am very optimistic that Evan will take the winner's prize. $1000 dollars cash and a pretty 'weighty' gold coin is a very good prize for a tournament that was essentially put together to highlight the trolls of the sport. Evan is not only a troll, but he is also a very good arm wrestler. I'd give him a 4 on Chris Gobby's arm wrestler rating scale. Bottom 8 is is now looking like a better tournament than the actual 'Top 8', now with guys dropping out of the Top 8. Plus, with the WAL not allowing it's top guys like Larratt, Chaffee and Todd to compete, it is hard to call it the 'Top 8', in my opinion. Bottom 8 is where the entertainment is! I suggest that everyone tunes in.
