    • @@CuteKristy179 that's half the fun. You try and look online for any hints that you can use ie. the logo, or it prompts a conversation with the driver, be it a quick 10 second conversation at a red light where you try and waive dramatically to get their attention because you just have to know, or you be a creep and follow them to wherever they're headed, or you bump into them as they're getting in/out of their car. Point being that you have to do the legwork to get an answer. It gives you a dopaminergic oriented purpose to fulfill.

The quality of everything for the exterior to the interior is leagues ahead of tesla, when it comes to tech it just works and is easy to use. ride quality is good too. Keep in mind that the Polestar 2 is build on the same platform as the Volvo XC40 and it shows in a good way.

    • The Tesla Model 3 has more range and an actual supercharger network which is way more important, I can’t imagine an EV without it on road trips with unreliable chargers. Not to mention a ton of default features on the Tesla you have to pay extra for on the Polestar, making the price seem deceptively cheaper when in reality you need to pay a lot more for the Polestar to match the Tesla. Examples: Better cruise control, wireless phone charging, better warming of the cabin. And what do you mean by cargo space?? The Model 3 has more storage, and it’s not an opinion, it’s a fact. Also I’ve been in both and completely disagree with comfort, model 3 is better IMO. I agree with build quality though. The Polestar is still a great car, but don’t act like it absolutely shits on the Tesla Model 3 when it doesn’t.

      @ifirekirby7498@ifirekirby74982 жыл бұрын
    • @@ifirekirby7498 It does in fact absolutely trash the model 3 in the aspects that I named. I've had the model 3 for 2 years, I think I know what I'm talking about. The Model 3 does have more interior space but not cargo space. It could have more cargo space, then it may have more than the Polestar 2, if you include the front trunk which is a joke and useless 99% of the time. I did not mention the range and charging network. I already know Tesla is better at that aspect. However, solely talking about the car itself and not the infrastructure. If I were to include the infrastructure for Tesla then I would also need to include the times where the car actually scrapes the ground damaging the underbody and how often those windows/door handles freezes. You should also know infrastructure is not the same in different countries. Tesla's advantage with the superchargers aren't always key to every user. Similarly, the climate might be a non issue for some users while the design of the car is a critical flaw in some other cases. Hence why I tried not to include every aspect that are debatable. I got the Polestar 2 with every options possible other than the performance pack. It's still cheaper than a Model 3 AWD with no options. Of course this could be different depending on which your country. But it's not like everyone needs to take every options either. The Tesla model 3 is a fine car, I just don't feel like the price reflects to what it is actually worth. It tries too hard to be like a sports car which makes it a bad daily driver in term of comfort and the design flaws are not suitable for my climate. FYI: I've used the app to defrost the snow, it doesn't work unless you let it sit for hours.

Your reasons for preferring the Model 3 seem to come down to price, performance, and range. But some things have changed since this video went live. * Price: since we are enjoying shortages of everything, Model 3 Performance price has increased to $59k. Meanwhile a fully loaded Polestar 2 (with Pilot, Plus, and Performance packs) is $62k, not much more. But the Polestar 2 is eligible for the $7500 rebate, meaning the actual price would be closer to $55k, actually undercutting the M3P. And if you don't want all the Polestar packs-- personally I would strongly consider omitting the Performance pack given it does not actually add performance-- it can be had for even less. * Performance: M3P is still king at this pricepoint, true. But I found the Polestar still gives you all the performance it has at any speed, immediately, which is more than I can say for most other non-Tesla EVs at this price point, which seem to kinda ease into the power instead of dumping it on you. In addition, 0-60 has decreased to 4.5s since you posted this video, and apparently there will be a software update later this year that'll decrease that to 4.2s. Still doesn't hold a candle to M3P's 3.1s (with rollout), but it's acceptable. * Range: Tesla's range is simply a lie, no way around it. They state 315 miles, but that's more like kilometers in real world use on a highway where it actually matters. Mine was rated for 310 miles when new, but I'm lucky to do 220 miles going 75 MPH. Polestar 2's rated range has increased to 249 miles, and a CarWow test showed it got 197 miles real world. Close enough to what I currently get for me. Yes, I'd rather have 300+ miles for $60k, but even Tesla can't do that, so no real loss. Combine that with the fact Polestar 2 incorporates a lot of the little touches that make Model 3 so great-- e.g. lack of start/stop button-- while also being better at being a car, and it's damn tempting to make the switch.

    • Many good points. Also here in the Texas heat, the Polestar has the option for ventilated seats if you upgrade to leather. That adds significantly to the livability of the car if you live somewhere hot and/or humid. And yes he should have considered the 7500 rebate available in the Polestar when talking value.

    • @@GuyFromJupiter Whelp, a lot has changed since I left that comment. Tesla did their huge price drops, Polestar 2 depreciation has been worse than expected, and it's come to light that Polestars have their own reliability problems with the TCAM modules, so maybe QC ain't all that great. Personally I haven't had problems dealing with Tesla, though my experience DOES vary depending on which service center I go to. As it stands today, if you're buying new, it makes more sense to go Tesla once again. If you're buying used, it's a bit more of a toss up IMO-- depends how much you value Tesla's charging network, really.

This is where owning a Tesla is a whole lot easier to live with day to day and the one every other EV owner wished they had when taking trips out of town. - I’m all for electric vehicles of all brands, but for any to be as successful as Tesla, they need to have access to a large and fast charging network, have strong range & efficiency, and the battery needs to be reliable.. I have purchased five various brand EV’s, and the Tesla has easily proven itself to be the easiest to live with day to day for a multitude of reasons. Much more is still needed from Volvo, Porsche, Ford, GM, MB, BMW, etc to be a compelling buy over a Tesla, as there’s much more to a good EV than what’s on the surface: Range, battery reliability, performance, charging speed, ease of charging out of town.. these are what separate the best from the rest. - I do love that vehicles like the Polestar and Ionic 5 are bringing a different flavor and innovative options to the market.. just have to keep the other important factors in mind.
