Rumor has it we'll see him at the left 8. If so, we play to his strength of arriving into the box with a late run (his words). There's a good chance he gets a lot more headed goals with us, considering our desire to cross in a LOT of balls to undersized forwards. Having Jesus/Saka/Martinelli making dangerous runs to have Havertz show up late would be perfect for having that extra something we just didn't see too much of last year.
Arsenal fans like to speculate. No one knows where he would play but Arteta. Infact, what makes us think Arteta will play the same formation next season? We have seen Pep change formation mid season.

It seems like it would be reasonable to think that he would try the 8 though, considering he would be able to then play with Jesus/Trossard. We also need a left 8 with Xhaka leaving, and it seems like Fabio and ESR aren't ready yet. I like the signing a lot, and I think he suits us as a late runner.
He will play next to Odegaard, Xhaka was deputizing in that role very well but it wasn’t his specialty. Havertz is an AM/SS, has always been. He will interchange with Jesus a lot as well to create that unpredictability for defences. Very good piece of business but ofcourse, we can only appreciate him properly if the gaffer can get him to play like I’m suggesting. The entire front 4 are rotatable!
@@SMGTTY exactly what I was thinking. If I remember correctly our priorities this summer for transfers were an 8, a 6, and a rb. Timber is looking like he's on the way in (fingers crossed, he's going to be an upgrade on White when it comes to his technical ability) and that takes care of the rb, Rice and Lavia in at 6, so Havertz must be playing a fluid 8/9.

Chelsea fan here - seeing Kai go is very sad, he has tonnes of potential. I do hope this move works for him - however, he can be very lazy, he slows the game down a lot if not used properly and I think he has an attitude problem (as is the case of many PL footballers). It'll be interesting to see how he develops!

When I watch the video I see him taking up a lot of spaces that Xhaka is in. Our team is gonna cook with him in those spaces instead of Xhaka
He has more attacking flair than Xhaka, but Xhaka has more defensive solidity than he does. It will be interesting to see how the team performs with him in place of Xhaka
He needs to add defensive work and positioning as well as Xhaka did. Too many peeps look forward but forgot about the defensive duties.
He seema to be good at finding spaces in those half spaces. I think he will do well in the 8 position. People say he cant defend. But his defensive work as a 9 is underated.

Arteta has experimented with Xhaka and recognised that we can absolutely play with another strikerish player who's not really a striker and who also can help us out in defensive activities. Havertz has a proper habit of doing so and his work ethic is appreciable. We are the right place for him and we need him. Don't worry he will shine with us.

A good alternative to Xhaka, maybe better against weaker teams or thrown on when we need a goal. Very technical, good presence in the box for crosses, room for improvement under Arteta's guidance. Not sure how his workrate is, that's my only concern but that can usually be coached. Champions league experience too!
