  • I think I can clarify the lazy cancer comment! This is the line that made me completely sure this was translated from Chinese-a common internet phrase is 懒癌晚期, which literally translates to “late-stage lazy cancer”, and it’s literally just used self-deprecatingly to say that you’re a lazy person. I don’t know why they attempted to translate this, but content farms like this…nobody understands them, man. Chinese people clown on them too even when it’s in Chinese.

Usually people cure egg yolks in salt and sugar for several days and then bake them to draw out excess moisture, and then they grate them on pastas and what have you. • Salted egg yolks are actually great, it really looks like you used super coarse salt that looks like panko, honestly, if you do it right and give it a good amount of time (and leave the container open and out, you're trying to evaporate the moisture!) they end up being more like babybel cheese, and they're great for shredding onto pasta. Rich, creamy, and the flavor is delightful. I'd imagine they'd make for an excellent ramen addition, as well. Yours look like they just got kind of a gummy exterior and didn't really dry out much at all.

  • For the juice box one, that is occasionally a real problem. It's not that you don't use the straw but holding the box sometimes you inadvertently squeeze it and spray juice up through the straw, spilling it. Holding it by the 'ears' prevents the possibility of squeezing the box, so that *is* a solution! Just wanted to write because this brings back memories from school!
