How many goats per acre could you safely hold? How many goats would you need to be able to make a living from? Are you selling to local and/or overseas markets?
@bucephulus46002 жыл бұрын
its a really hard question as its totally dependent on the amount of feed you have available, we work on DSE "Dry Sheep Equivalants' to calculate how many animals and for how long on each paddock.

Hey, I also want to start a farm of Boer goat, I have been following you for quite some time, could u please tell me, are Boer goats a good option for cold places(temp range -15°c to +30 °c
@chinchinchu28892 жыл бұрын
They are hardy and I have seen some videos of them in snow, but they thrive on the warm temperatures being from South Africa, so I believe you would have to shed them over winter. There is definitely a few American breeders who have Boer in cold temperatures maybe try an American boer Facebook page? Good luck 🤞

It’s using a pour-on lice/parasite treatment, it goes on as a line on the animals back, so over here it’s called back lining. 👍

Hi how many kids born per season
@henryjohn47812 жыл бұрын
depends on season, more in spring than autumn but each doe can drop 1-4 kids, so depends on your number of breeding does. We normally average around 50 for spring 25 for autumn all going well
