Could climate change make us sick?

For decades, scientists have been predicting that climate change will escalate the transmission of diseases such as malaria, yellow fever, and encephalitis. These hypotheses are grounded in the understanding that major vectors for infectious diseases, like mosquitoes and ticks, experience population increases in warmer weather. Over the past several decades, our planet has undoubtedly warmed, but the trend in infectious disease transmission has not been as clear. So, what drives the transmission of infectious diseases? And what does climate change have to do with it? Watch SciToons’ new video ”Could climate change make us sick?” to learn more! #scicomm #science #climatechange #climate

  • When need to start using hemp to slow down climate change. Cars, clothes, rope, concrete, food and biofuel can be made out of the hemp plant. We could be using French fry grease in diesel engines.

  • This is scary, because we already have the virus on our hands and now we could have to deal with this. This could be big trouble.

    • Actually the solution is already available. All superpowers need to immediately focus on transitioning their energy grids off fossil fuels. The majority of energy still used in the world is oil, gas, coal. The problem is that these fossil fuel corporations are the foundation of power for these empires. Very wealthy families do not want change. They also see no need to invest into a change as the financial system rewards them for society to keep using fossil fuels. We need changes in government that reward fossil fuel companies for moving towards cleaner energy. However corruption is at work, most attempts haven't changed anything.
