Funny...I said the very same thing to my wife this morning when the smell chased me down the hallway, I met her half way.., but she wasn't very impressed. She just gave me the beady eye, had her shirt pulled up over her face, looked like one of them assassins from a ninja movie.

Amazing how you can run the dozer over it now that it is dryer, I remember you almost got the Volvo stuck on that edge taking trees down. It shows that you are enjoying the sunshine and see greening on the turf and tree branches. That pond is looking like 4 acres - nice size.

A foot deeper would have been the icing on the cake. But it still is one heck of an improvement over what it had been.
At least 3ft on the shallow end 5 or 6ft on the deep end.

I would hire you in a heart beat. You are one of the best operators I've seen in a while. I can't anymore because of health problems and miss it very much only 61 but put out to pasture. Enjoy it while you can.Godbless
Your Dozer is very good at doing this type of cleaning up on my farm I use to have an old D85 12A .I loved building dams or ponds on the farm. Great work ,Chris 🥳👍

Another great job, Chris. Like many others, i would love to see some of your previous jobs after the ponds have filled back up and the grass has grown in. I know a lot of these sites are far from your place, but maybe you could get the homeowners to send you a photo or short video of how the places look now for you to share with us. I’d also love to know how the guys digging the footings for the vet clinic are doing in the rock garden.

I think what you did was faster, time is $$$, definitely a better job for the client, and a great idea in bulldozing the bottom. If it were my pond (I respect that it isn’t) I would sneak into the account Momma has no idea I have, and seen how much deeper I could have had you dig the pond!!! Haha. She would never knowwww. Deeper pond, bigger fish, in my mind anyways. Having been a volunteer firefighter, it’s always good to have as much water around as possible. The helicopters can dip a bucket in there and be gone in a matter of minutes. I’ve seen it done hundreds of loads over the years. They are always appreciated. Thanks Chris, looks amazing.

I had a 5 acre pond on my farm and it was spring fed in the rainy seasons ground water but always had algae problems. I put bubblers in around the pond. Then lined it with 2” rip rap. Tried to put a white silica sand beach in but that was dumb. That lasted a year. There is a ton of maintenance if you want to keep a pond looking like a golf coarse pond. Otherwise ducks and other things bring in cat tails et . They take over fast. After 5 years I gave up maintanence on mine. I had to work. It grew over real fast. Heart breaking.

What a fast job using the dozer. This was a piece of cake. Just watched a pond clean up from 2016 you were in 6 plus feet of mud losing the mats and talking to the excavator. You do love your work.

Man, That pond is a little Bigger than I thought... It turned out really ,really nice Chris !! A lot of people don't realize that piling up all the mud, and junk and hauling it off is just one part of the picture... Ya got to be thinking 2-3 steps ahead and have a mental picture of what the finish product is gonna look like as your loading and hauling off all that mess ! You did an awesome job as always Man !! In the old times to clean a small lake or pond they would use a old steel bed mattress an drag it on the bottom to clean it. Thanks for the video.

Surprised that pond was losing any water. It was nice, clean clay wherever you scraped the junk up. Really thinking those trees on the dam were part of the problem. Once you ripped them out, wasn't a channel along the roots for the water to follow any more. That's my 2 cents anyway. The pond is looking amazing.

Chris said the pond wasn't that deep. I though from looking at the slope on the back of the dam and that gulley that the pond would be pretty deep along the dam. Looks great now that its cleaned up. 👍

Man thats a massive improvement with all that trash out of it, you saved a bunch of time being lucky enough that the bottom was solid enough for the dozer vs having to rake it with the bucket. Grade A job as usual Chris.
As a fisherman....those dirt rows would have made a great contour to the bottom of that pond

39:26 seems before filling the pond with water they should cover the pond bottom with black Geomembrane Plastic Sheeting so that the water level always stays the same. Then there can be bank planting with habitat-typical aquatic plants

I’m a novice when it comes to operate equipment . I have a cat dozer and excavator., Kubota skid steer and mini X on the farms. Using all for general farm and clearing land I learn a lot in watching how you operate. Very informative. Thanks a bunch
