    • Desmond Doss is credited with saving 75 soldiers during one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific - and he did it without ever carrying a weapon. The battle at Hacksaw Ridge, on the island of Okinawa, was a close combat fight with heavy weaponry. Thousands of American and Japanese soldiers were killed, and the fact that Doss survived the battle and saved so many lives has confounded and awed those who know his story. Now, he's the subject of a new film directed by Mel Gibson called Hacksaw Ridge.

Not like Christianity, Islam, etc... actually were very supportive of religion throughout most of their history. Blaming religion is just the laziest and most shallow way of viewing the world. Turning things black and white just to make it nice and simple, but then you realize that most people were going to kill each other anyway regardless of religion. If you honestly believe that just removing religion makes it so people won't murder each other anymore, then you are a bad historian.

The second most I famous Terrorist the US assasinated was the Iranian General and That was done in Iraq. So the US-Afghanistan War hasn't been pretty, But the US-Nato alliance has assasinated thousands of top notch Al Qaeda and Taliban Terrorists. The Taliban recruit their own kids, wives, and grandmothers, to be terrorists, so nobody will ever kill all of them. But hey: that's it's basically the same for ISIS. I mean these Middle Eastern countries raise their kids of dreaming to be terrorists. The kids in the US dream of Pro-Athletes, doctors, etc etc. Kids born in the Middle East run to their dad's and say. " Dad I wanna join a Terrorist group". The dad's say. " Great son. I really felt like I met these men and got to know them and felt awful that they did not have the support and backing of the government back home to keep the integrity of the town they had secured. really ominous knowing we've just done the same thing on a larger scale of the whole of Afghanistan leaving the locals to defend their homes and towns and livelihoods by themselves with no government to back them. what an awful feeling to know their own government has run away, and all the international support that was keeping the Taliban away has now gone and left them high and dry. thank you for your service, all of you. I wish that it didn't feel like every battle you fought has now gone to waste for the Taliban to trample back in.
