The last line where he said, "We'd won the battle, but it felt like we were losing the war", was prophetic. If only they knew the whole country would be handed back to the enemy.

Desmond Doss is credited with saving 75 soldiers during one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific - and he did it without ever carrying a weapon. The battle at Hacksaw Ridge, on the island of Okinawa, was a close combat fight with heavy weaponry. Thousands of American and Japanese soldiers were killed, and the fact that Doss survived the battle and saved so many lives has confounded and awed those who know his story. Now, he's the subject of a new film directed by Mel Gibson called Hacksaw Ridge.
People these days has grown a cold heart toward the faith of Christ but this true story shows that the Lord Jesus was with him in every step all those men doubted him and thought he was nuts to not carry a gun and look how he saved so many men
Leigh Rivera christianity has killed way more than its saved. its also damned potentially some of our youngest and greatest minds to study a book of fiction all their lives rather than science. christianity and other religions have and will always keep us a weak and futile group of people.
@@MrWeenuk21 Not like religious people and societies made great contributions to math and science or anything like that. Not like Christianity, Islam, etc... actually were very supportive of religion throughout most of their history. Blaming religion is just the laziest and most shallow way of viewing the world. Turning things black and white just to make it nice and simple, but then you realize that most people were going to kill each other anyway regardless of religion. If you honestly believe that just removing religion makes it so people won't murder each other anymore, then you are a bad historian.

The problem is this, the British Army is made to fight a global war using the resources of a defensive army. It either needs to be kept as a defensive army or given the funding to fulfill its global role.
You every excellent point... the British Navy and army should have been crushed after 1776 and England and Great Britain controlled as a US sovereignty... like England does to hundreds of other countries and they tryed to do to us... I'm not commenting on all in with people just the government in their policies... after the second world war was there country was war-torn women and children starving but not one of the crown jewels was spared to relieve the suffering
@@user-mt9tn1ni4g Learn your history. No way could it be "crushed". It was a sideshow for the British who were fighting Napoleon and running a global Empire. The UK kept Canada and beat the USA in 1812 "war" and the USA had to sign a peace treaty after the vastly superior British Navy blockaded them. simple.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_of_1812 Since then of course we've kissed and made up...after all it was just the British fighting amongst themselves.
It has no and should have no "global role", same goes for the US. Stop interfering in other countries and instigating these wars. Dumbass
Britain should give up its pretensions of imperial grandeur, and stop allowing its forces to be used as pawns in Israeli orchestrated regime change wars.
