Unsolved - The History and Mystery of the World’s Greatest Ciphers

2017 ж. 31 Шіл.

Craig Bauer, author of Unsolved Ciphers and editor of Cryptologia, will examine these and other vexing ciphers yet to be cracked. Some may reveal the identity of a spy or serial killer, provide the location of buried treasure, or expose a secret society-while others may be elaborate hoaxes. Guests are invited to stay after his talk for some collaborative cipher-breaking fun.

  • The Somerton Man case has always really intrigued me! I think it's indubitably a spy or agent of some description, and probably the details in themselves are fairly quotidian, as much as espionage and clandestine communication can be. But to learn the whole story, why and what is [it] is finished?! What relationship existed between him, his death, Khan's poetry, and the woman in whose car it was left?! I can only hold out hope for impending declassification, I guess, because oh, to learn the whole thing, his story, why and by which hand he died! And who has been keeping hidden what?!

  • Fantastic presentation. Funny, smart, and really really interesting stuff, I now have more tabs open then I'll be able to read. Also, the presenter looks like Peter North. You know you were thinking it.

  • On the mauborgne cipher. What if he used a cipher wheel. But every 5 letter block was a different line of the wheel?

  • Thanks! Glad I found you guys. I've always wondered, Paul's letter to the Ephesians, putting on the "armor of God" . . . helmet, shield, sword, breastplate each with their own symbolic meanings, but I think the "Belt of Truth", was a key to ciphers! Wearing a belt, with the cipher key, to write & receive secrets, not capturable, probably. But holding the key to Truth. Could you please pass on to professor. Thanks again.

Transposition methodology and substitution explained for Zodiac Killer's notorious cipher. JFK content in Z's until now hidden message. Not a Larp! Progress past the Mickey for some serious code cracking. Thanks.
