Where is the mommy Nichelle? I am honestly not trying to pick on you but what or how much do you know about Chimpanzees? Do you know they have strict societal hierarchies? Chimp mothers are incredibly patient, attentive and caring moms. They become so depressed when they lose a baby that they can die of sadness. If their babies die from disease they are often seen carrying the baby's corpse for weeks in spite of decay simply because the chimp mom refuses to accept the baby is dead. Another thing you might not know is that if the mom dies then the chimp aunt takes over. If there is no aunt, then a sister takes over. If there is no aunt or sister, then the next matriarch female will raise the baby and so on... If there is only ONE relative left, even if it is a male... He will raise the baby as his own. I know this because I studied apes and the question that should dawn on you, no matter how cute this video looks to you... Is... How did these people obtain a baby chimp? The sale of all chimps is not legal in the USA but aside from that... I don't know how these people have 3 chimps running around in a house but even if they could... Since you have to either steal the baby or kill the entire family before they give them up? How did they get that baby?
@Noble Failures That is true. People mistake their intelligence with habitation and domestication. If they consider you to be family they trust you and interact with you but there is an ugly side. They have massive canine teeth and are 5 to 7 times stronger than humans. If they throw a tantrum they can become violent and go for the face, fingers, and genitals. They will rip the off easily, they eat Colobus monkeys, sometimes males kill the offspring of deposed alpha males but I don't want to scare anyone. I just want people to understand they should be free. For the most part, they are curious, friendly and intelligent.

I have a question, does baby Angada wear the onesie and carry the blanket to keep him warm or is it more of a comfort thing? You’re an amazing caregiver, I can’t wait to watch Angada grow up!
The onesie is to cover the diaper or he'd take it off or pick at the lining. The blanket is comfort, all baby monkeys and apes need a soft furry something if they can't hold on to their mom.

This video is so cute. I have always been fascinated with chimps. I saw this and told my granddaughter I want to go to myrtlebeach safari as on my bucket list. I am hoping one day she will take me. Arent baby chimps usually more joyful and active running around quite hyper I seem to remember maybe because there are not any other babies to play with but he seems subdued. Did he lose his mother? Is he missing het??

Doc protects chimps overseas from poachers. He sends over drones and supplies to these workers. This particular baby chimp was rejected by it's mother I believe so he was brought over to be cared for.
@@ashleyhedglin6001 Yes young captive mothers sometimes reject their babies because they grew up without any examples of motherhood or chimp groups. Usually, there are older females in zoos or sanctuaries that fill in the role of surrogate mothers for them. When it comes to apes I am a strong believer in the Star Trek prime directive. I am sure "Doc" is aware of these things, knows what to do and the bushmeat/infant trade. Some chimps end up becoming ambassadors for the rest. I just have never seen chimps so immersed in a human environment. Not judging at all.
Who cares? Chimps are our closest relatives. What matters is what you see- how much they love us back Even though they shouldn't.

An adorable chimp. There is defiantly some thing wrong mentality with this little guy. I feel sorry for him/her when it gets older the other chimps will take advantage of the mentality challenged. I wish the little guy luck on getting all his marbles back.

Angada has a great caretaker. I was wondering, in terms of aging, what the difference is between a human baby and a baby chimp. I know Angada is 7 months old. Would that equal to 7 years old for Humans ?
Nooo! Chimpanzees are very close relatives to us. Their life cycle (childhood, puberty, and how old they live) is closely similar to humans.
If you fill it more he's get more per suck/bite. Also, I dipped chew toys in broth before giving to my pups. Perhaps juice for him? Love you guys. My daily joy! 💚
I immediately thought of filling the pacifier nipple with a thicker fruit/vegetable puree. And having additional extra nipples available would allow for some to be in use and others refrigerated and/or to clean. Frozen puree would grant some teethers, the opportunity to suck and a puree may offer greater nutritional benefits. A solid banana or apple requires some possible chewing, as well as possible damage to the nipple. A thicker consistency puree would make it easier to spoon into the nipple, then refrigerate or freeze. Sucking on the nipple would be considerably easier as the puree melts and/or liquifies.
