I saw Sam's show in Hackney/London last November. It was a great experience. He even spent some time after the show to meet and talk with everyone. When I told him I was a Patron from Canada, he went over to Kosmo, pulled out a patch cable and gave it to me as a token of appreciation. I hope you didn't need that one, Sam!
Consider adding both a camera and audio recording setup so you have a proper record of your shows. You could release/sell a live album that way.
I love his shows but that would be... interesting live albums.
I think he can get multi tracks out of his mixer
I think he mentioned a camera that was stolen in the last video
But what about the mind controls? And VR something
As a canadian that loves his music and has no possibility of being to afford the flight over, i would give my left arm for this
easily the most underappreciated musician on KZhead.
Yes. He's pretty freaking awesome at a bunch of shit
Only just discovered you, you're like a man possessed ! Love to see the dedication.
I've used a modular synth for production before but I never even considered it to be a live instrument until now. This is crazy.
Hell yeah, would love to see you live some day!
I was there, it was awesome show, I just wish it was longer.
For the "cant hear the audience" problem you can try to add 1-x mics pointed at the audience. This is common for musicians that use in ear monitoring so that they get exactly that feedback. I'm more of a lighting guy so I have no deeper insights but I hope you are able to locate more info on that topic. Edit: of course this will only be added to your headphones and not to the PA.
love the closeups on the cases showing how it's all bracketed together, I want to put together something similar but smaller. Well I WANT something BIGGER but you know.... little steps
So nice to see proper equipment on stage instead of apple ipads and laptops hes like aphex twin and liam howlett had a baby together ive no idea how any of this stuff works but i just love his enthusiasm and love for real machines ,synths and technology love the furby lol
This man definitely knows his tools - amazing! ❤
Really love what you’re doing mate, only discovered you this afternoon, and we’re looking at booking tickets for the London gig in October, can’t wait
Kudos on your hard work
the vsynth with your machines is the best..... your machines is espectacular!!!!!! bravo!!!!!
So awesome!! 🙌🏻💯🎧
You are hitting gold here ! hope you will record this stuff for later tracks on your channel or spotify !
Thanks for sharing!
Your show in Prague was amazing!!!
Oh no!!! you were in Prague. I wish I've had known that beforehand
That little prophet is a great choice for live. 👽
good to see this!
Beautiful live show! We are really looking forward to recordings from the performance on KZhead.
Amazing
I remember seeing Lutzenkirchen do something similar in like 2011 or something. But he didnt have this big of a setup. This is absolutely awesome!😊
Love it. So cool
👍👍👍Sam just keeps going
I can't wait to see you live in the North Bay! Swing by, please 🙏 🙏 I already hyped up my crew 😅
Keep on rockin`!
Excellent 😅
bro you have to come to Detroit, where it all started!
It was such a great show in Cologne. I am still flabbergasted how it works, but it works well❤
Thanks! We needed this video! Could you make a video detailing the absolutely necessary setup for a modular synth? For example, how many VCOs, oscillators... What you can do with them? Et cetera?
I am deep impressed….
I've worked with a few bands who use a crowd mic so they still get the energy and feedback from the crowd into their In Ear Mix, might help with your headphones
woo! yeah!
Really cool. Didn't understand anything, but doesn't matter xD This is really unique and great work from you.
How does that man ever pass security on an airport???
Maybe he only drives to gigs.
Damn, If I had known I would have loved to see you in Prague!!
Fucking massive my man. hope to tour with you in the future. Come to the states!
Consider making your next modular out of glass so you can stand towards the audience on stage and they can see you through it.
You should build a full size mixing desk (16 channels+) with capacity of synth levels, send and returns, long faders it would ramp up the quality of the show, like you dutch friend you visited, like everyone. the Swiss "Struder 961 mixer" schematic should serve as base, contains FET audio switches with fade in/out (capacitors), very cool. You never seen that many FET's in one schematic. Doepfer voltage switch A-150, allows you to cut and paste wave forms via PWM synced to the VCO, increasing the sonic capabilities by far! That's how the "Make Noise STO" vco works and it makes freaking awesome noises, out of this world, it comes close to massive distorted Guitar at some points. It's also open source , just some ADG419 : )
Wizard!!! Have fun!
Отлично!
Come to the staaaates please
all truth and real 👍 👍 👍
When will the new tour dates be on your website? I totally missed you being in Holland. I wouldn’t want that to happen the next time you visit.
I contacted you on your website form, like others have said you need to up the video production and have a cameraman on stage with quality gear, this will be a gigantic step up through the roof, take care!
Money doesn't grow on trees unfortunately. 🤷♂️ I do what I can.
@@LOOKMUMNOCOMPUTER I know, I’d be happy to help with my gear and camera work even for free to do at least a one off if you tour around in Europe :)
@@KMDBRecordings thanks! no more europe dates for a long while though! cheers for the offer tho.
@@KMDBRecordings also one more thing, this video commented on was what i was talking about when replied on the message, its my mate the footage is through a vhs camera, its meant to look crappy. its just the sort of style i like :). but thankyou for the offer.
@@LOOKMUMNOCOMPUTER The ''crappy'' look 100% fit your style, I'd say it would be ideal to have it on stage if possible (I'm a fan of the ''Live from stage'' series of Nine Inch Nails, it brings a lot of intimacy even with remote audience) kzhead.info/sun/fdOsqbKjhKiKhKc/bejne.html&pp=ygURbmluIGxpdmUgb24gc3RhZ2U%3D
He will be the old wizard we have to travel to the UK to, so he can teach us how all this works when all the originators arent around anymore 🥲
Go Sam go! ❤
I am 60 years old and have all of Sam's LP's. My wife thinks i'm mad.
let him cook at coachella
Omg what a nightmare to set up and break down every night
Love your channel and museum!! I'm surprised you were never a contestant on Brittan's Got Talent. Hmm , there's an idea for you!
❣
Such a shame I've discovered you today when you've been to Prague in the beginning of this month. Hope you'll come here again someday
Grimes can't even divide by two during her set and this dude is here being a one-man orchestra.
Are you coming to Norway again? I loved it last you were here!
if you have any extra inputs on your X32, stick some audience mics (cheap condensers) out at the edge of stage that only feed into your headphones. used mostly for in ears, but would work with headphones the same...
You could throw that mic on the DT-990 and have open back headphones to better hear people around you.
Great Setup! which module is generating the drum sound?
My tool chest and roll cab, are only that tall, with lid open. And really bleeding eavy😂
IT'S FINALLY GONE 360 That thinking Music box is a computer Sir
COME TO THE EAST COAST USA!!!
I need that synth sound at 5:20! Can you explain how its made a bit more please?
When ate you coming to Australia ? I am obsessed with ypur channel.
You're like some 'Mad Scientist' about to exclaim 'Its Alive!' Absolutely love it! What/who are your influences? Thanks in advance?
So Nice! What do u use as mastering chain?
You need crowd/ambient mics to pipe into your phones!
Hi!
Where can we find a list of your tour? Or when will you be touring again? Thanks 🫡
охуенно. Попробую попасть на твой концерт
Where can we find your tour info?
Just wondering, am i correct in recognizing your music in an ad for a German pressure washer? or are they working with somebody that's copying your style?
dunno
not seen it
Can you share the ad?
Searched „power washer ad synth“ and found a Klangphonics/Kärcher collab, maybe that’s what you mean.
Wait… How does the BeatStep Pro transpose without holding down one of the two “SEQUENCE” buttons? The necessity of pressing two buttons to transpose has always bugged me. I really love to ‘play’ the transpose on other sequencers, like the KeyStep.
It doesn't transpose it acts as a midi keyboard transposing the cirklon
When are you coming to the US? You don’t have to tour the whole country, just come to Virginia, near Washington DC!
He's mentioned this a few times before, that it would be a nightmare to transport all of his gear across the ocean...
@@Omarshmallow yeah, I bet it would be. TBH, I know a lot of electronic musicians don’t make a lot of money touring, and just getting his setup over here would cost a LOT of money, in addition to a plane ticket. He’s probably end up paying $1-3k just to get it here, and same on return. He’s have to do a lot of shows to justify that, in addition to at least $100 a day for hotel and food (and that’s staying at shady hotels and eating cheap food once a day) not including renting a vehicle, and paying for gas. Sometimes I wish I could just randomly have a few thousand dollars laying around and just be like “hey bro, just bring your stuff to my house, got a large basement with my own studio, can invite a few people over, and have a small private concert/jam session” and pay for it all myself, plus some extra pocket cash. But, alas, I myself have little money sadly.
I NEED A GORRILAZ COLLAB
BALLET show next?
Are you coming to Paris sometime!!?
i did 2 weeks ago
Thanks it was awesome 😂❤😅
Ooooh comeeee oneeee ! #i'mdumbAF
And when’s it comin’ to North America?
Did you like the Stylish Belt Buckle synthesizer I gave you in Berlin? I have a bunch of other prototypes to donate to your museum if you want them.
Tina!! Yes will fire you an email!
re publika
Looks worse and better than a boiler room if thats not impossible
Analog DAW. . . U bring live music back, mate!
Lolz dont blink .. He built a Computer.. It's got programmed memory
