As a mudrunner player, I think things are getting too arcady gameplay wise, but some of the features look awesome.

This happens to everything once it goes mainstream...it gets dumbed down for the majority.
Sorry I'm playing snowrunner now and the grind and monotonous repeating of constantly the same gameplay is probably enjoyable for the single celled but if you play games for the enjoyment of it and the entertainment (it are games essentially) it needs a while lot more. Started over a few times now but after an hour of 10 it gets awfully boring and only the diehard fans will continue. That "fanbase" is probably way too small for any company, I won't be buying this unless it isn't a boring grind like snowrunner.
@@FuZzOtagEit's not getting "dumbed down" it's getting actual proper gameplay. That you think an awful grind is a great game is just fine, but the less dumb people (if you start throwing intelligence in the mix) need a bit more to to keep it interesting.

Its the first game since Spin Tires that I'm absolutely not excited about. Maybe I'm just getting older. But maybe this game looks like another soulless update for snowrunner. And fancy drones won't make it any better. I'm a simple man - good mud physics and just driving logs around is what I personally want.
I think when they called it a MudRunner game, it's basically confirming what Esorokin said. That SnowRunner and Expeditions are both games that will continue to develop simultaneously. Seeing as how SnowRunner is one of Saber's biggest money makers atm, I highly doubt they'll stop making DLC for it any time soon :)
Yeah, naming it Snowrunner will mean that SR will be discontinued. But it will not.
One of the main things I loved doing in both MR and SR were using the different Scout vehicles and exploring every bit of the maps. I’m personally happy that we’re getting a game focused on Scouts and exploration. Hopefully each map is big enough to justify the game’s existence.
Its not open world, lrvel based
This is looking really interesting. The two things I'm looking forward to most are the removable anchor and the echo sounder. Aside from that, these changes are similar to how Chimera Squad changed from regular XCOM gameplay. Different, but without playing myself, I won't say they look bad.

As I said before, if the they go for a SnowRunner's unrealistic physics again, spiking a fun gearbox system, and omitting a hardcore mode while continuing to milk out the game with les and less detailed and less useful trucks, this game will be a No Thanks once more for me. They've got to revisit what made this game famous in the first place: that authentic realism and top-notch physics engine.

I can see the loadstar looks like has been "de-copyrighted" and the step truck also modified, need to see other american vehicles to see if they have been de-copyrighted too.... Glad to see the first spanish made vehicle in Game, the Iveco massif, Hope It performs well,and Hope to see It in future snowrunner phases, also Hope to see more ivecos in the future I need to see more about this Game, still looks too much as a snowrunner DLC

In my opinion, this is what every SnowRunner DLC should look like. That's a lot of new mechanics, tasks and possibilities. Yes, this is the first real DLC for SnowRunner. This is not a joke, this is what the SnowRunner phases should look like, not the same thing for 4 years...

This "game" is literally a SnowRunner DLC. They have been able to implement the new mechanics, as you have said, this is how the SnowRunner DLC should be, only maps and maps, but zero new mechanics. They use the same graphics engine, it's the same game.
To be fair, most DLC are simply expansions of existing gameplay. The fact that snow runner has so many relatively affordable maps that can provide hundreds of hours of gameplay total is already quite impressive compared to the majority of games out there.

In the inventory screen, like at the moment in the video where its showing the jack-screw in inventory, one of the icons looks like a go pro. I wonder what thats going to be used for

Great video review! Anyway, guessing based of this review- I have a bad feeling this (TF2 reference? 😄). No, seriously. I get that the had been constantly working on passes for SR, but like, really? I get that we do not get major changes in graphics and physics, that would really require ton of work. But the fact that every single vehicle is defacto recycled, just with quick, 15 minutes re-design of roof racks, jerry cans, etc? Ok, new features- anchors, bridges, deflation, ...., but ask yourself- compared tp some added features during the SR lifespan, aren't those on a similar level? Something we could get in another season? I feel like the answer is yes. That, because of we can see how is Saber doing rn, they are just trying to squeeze every cent of us for as little effort as possible. They could at least re-design / change type of trees, because the pine forest looks like a map from Taymir 1:1. The canyon is new, true. But again, could'nt we just get it in another update of SR? I really feel like it has a significant quality drol, doesnt even include a snow (probably), so the asnwer for me is simple- I won't buy it . If the reviews (honest reviews, not some 10/10 sht like with Forza) won't be excellent from the experienced player base of SR, I won't buy it, and simply- F U Saber in that case. And I feel I won't be alone.

Nice, ramains same boken SR physic... I hope they will fix faster driving and small rocks/sticks that will no longer destroy vehicles And add feeling of waight to the vehicles

Im pretty sure all of these have to do with how saber built their game engine. They optimized it for low speed, typically caused by mudding and offroading, and high speeds tend to cause more glitches and weird physics because it's not designed ornoptimized for that

I didn't notice the "MudRunner game" designation until you pointed that out. I wonder if they are calling it that because it's going to be a simpler game than SnowRunner. I know that doesn't make a lot of sense, but that's the only explanation I can think of at the moment.
Snowrunner is advertised as Snowrunner: A Mudrunner Game at first. I think they are categoring all these games as part of the Mudrunner series.

@@SD1ONE Overall, it has a few new features, which may allow us to play a little differently, but fundementally, alongside what you said about it being almost graphically identical, it seems more of an add on to snowrunner than an entire seperate game.
Name confusion? No, not really. SnowRunner is "SnowRunner - A MudRunner Game" They shortened it to SnowRunner at some point, but still. Heck pre-launch it wasn't even SnowRunner at all but it was MudRunner 2 when we first heard about it. So it'll probably come out as "Expeditions - A MudRunner Game" then silently get shortened to just Expeditions. As for the game looking like SnowRunner, I'm pretty sure they've already said Expeditions is a spin-off running on the SnowRunner game engine. So yeah, it's going to look similar.
You and some other folks who played mudrunner can understand this but I mentioned it for the people who only played Snowrunner, They're connecting it with Mudrunner because of the name...so that's why I cleared it up.
@@SD1ONE Ah OK. Honestly I think they should kept it SnowRunner - A MudRunner Game. People are just going to call it SnowRunner anyway, and having MudRunner in the logo is a nice little callback to honour the original game in lets say the console version of the series (Technically the true original is SpinTires, but they aren't going to make callback to that) The name Expeditions - A MudRunner Game would then also make a lot more sense as fans would know it's the newest game in the MudRunner series like SnowRunner was previously.
they're basing landscape and vehicles off of Snowrunner because that game is more advanced in comparison with the original Mudrunner. but they're calling a "Mudrunner Game" because that's their marketing name. Snowrunner is, like Exepeditions, a Mudrunner spinoff.
I'm really excited for that 6x4 truck based off the MF OMT Franzosi.

Excellent video! It gives me enough info to convince me to buy this game. One small suggestion: The section about different terrains/regions could have been slowed down some more so that I were able to get a better impression without having to pause the video there and then.

Ладно там были юридические споры, но выходил Mudrunner из которого можно было сделать тот же Snowrunner в рамках одной игры. Но тут экспедиция, по сути все тоже самое, вот 80 процентов тоже самое. 3 раз будут продавать туже самую игру с минимальным количеством изменений.

Expeditions doesn't seem to be anything majorly improved compared to SR. Sure we've got new features that will allow us to play slightly differently, but there are some vehicles in expiditions which we've already seen in snowrunner, and the graphics appear very similar. Unless they do something with making maps very interesting, or some sort of gameplay element thats unique, it seems like you're just playing snowrunner all over again. I do hope expiditions doesn't become dlc haven like SR has, or have like 15 scouts that do very similar things, all while looking similar. Since they already have a dlc out even before the game released, its not looking promising tho
This looks way more slower than snowrunner with focus on exploration. Do you not want new content after game is released? Why is DLC bad?
@@frankreynolds9930 Well yea, but slower in a game generally means less playtime due to being more boring. When it comes to dlcs, a few are fine, but when you have over 9 it gets a little much tbh
@Gracefulwarrior2124 Off-road games are supposed to be slow, people want more realism, that's how you do it. For low attention spam people, these offload games will be boring anyway. No one is forcing people to buy dlc. Base game with $30 alone has more content than most $60 games. Those interested will only buy dlc.
@@frankreynolds9930 My main point was that this game doesn't appear too different than snowrunner. Otherwise, this game doesn't initially appear to have many interesting goals in terms of exploration, so like I said, unless they make some really interesting maps or elements, there isn't a terrible lot to go off of. My point about dlc's is that its generally the only content saber focuses on after the base game. Rarely do they add anything cool to the base version, and its generally just been truck after truck, and what happened with SR is it became too much content, especially looking at the numerous majority of lackluster scouts. I personally don't mind a couple dlcs, but when its this many, its just borderline too many

The thing at 7:40 you have no idea about will be an action camera that you can place somewhere and see the feed from it to get a second angle on the situation. Or not :-D

it will more likely to get a year 4. They already confirmed that expeditions is just an spinoff focus on scout and this game will exist side by side with snowrunner. Anything that improved the game engine, features from expeditions will get port back to snowrunner so you dont have to worry.
We should be afraid but there is a good-side some SR vehicles are going to be in expeditions (might include some MR too)

@@SD1ONEI think it would be nice for a change. I like scouting and exploring stuff, seismic missions were my favorite, so I'm excited. Metal detector, seismic vibrat0r will no longer be some side-quest stuff no one uses, it will be the main focus of the game, that's cool.
I hope there will be a difficult mode with a high simulation.
Itd be a perfect platform to add a Mercedes unimog to the truck roster.

The manual gearbox in Mudrunner is not even true to life. I'd rather we get a proper manual gearbox that's distinct to every vehicle like their real world counterparts.

Graphics doesn't have anything to do with how fun a game is. Graphics Graphics Graphics that's all I ever hear anymore is Graphics! Just how good do the graphics got to get before all you other nerds are satisfied?!? If you want photorealistic, then go get yourself a real truck!

That jack said it could only be used if the truck was upside down, and then they used it on a truck that wasn't.
Rev counter? No. Tip-ometer? No. Gauge to show my instantaneous fuel consumption which changes every 0.25 seconds so absolutely useless? YES!

2:05 it's mostly based off of the franzosi but it has fiat 690 fenders, and it's probably only a 6x2 from stock? atleast for the 690 it's only 2wd

If its a MR game than it should use the original vehicles from Mudrunner or spintires instead of reusing SR vehicles..still its a good game and good job of making this video👍👍

Those aren't examples of objectives.... those are checkpoints... it clearly says it in big letters.... The objectives are things like delivering science equipment and stuff. We have already seen glimpses of cargo loads on scouts and trucks. Its basically just a more mission based version of mudrunner. Also why all the question marks? They made it all super clear tbh and ur like "omg does this do X?" like... yeas they literally just showed you it doing that, so it does that...
Things are becoming more unrealistic. People fell in love with Mudrunner because it was difficult and more realistic. I think the series is going in the wrong direction and I hate to say that

its probably labeled a mudrunner game to establish it as a game of the spintires series except they cant use the spintires name because of all the copyright shit
It will be developed in parallel with Snowrunner, so it can't have that name
I think if they dont bring back most the core characterics of the original spintires, as well as the same feel of those spintires characteristics....then alot of us customers are going to be letdown to the point of giving up on one day seeing the original physics implemented into the newer games. Eventually causing a portuon of the customer base to possibly abandon the series and move onto others games or even reverting back to mudrunner and spintires for those who still have playable versions with mods
Thing is that console is bigger market than PC and all controlls physics, etc is dumbed down to support controller and casual console audience....Sadly I don't think they would ever return it to MR or ST level.
@@SD1ONE ok, I didn't know it had more console players than PC. Do you think if that were the case though, as in both console and PC players all shared the same sentiment towards wanting the old physics back or bust..that they would eventually put the game down for good. I might be wrong but it actually seems like majority of player bases opinions and comments around different channels and sources, share the same view on the engine and physics as you do... They all want some form of the old physics and engine put back into snowrunner and any newer titles.

Well I guess we will have wait and see if that view (old physics & likeness) remains a minority view or grows into a larger broader one that the community will continue to ask for and then wait to see the response. It would seem that the devs are at minimum, hearing the minority views because the current response back we have gotten is a new title with a name addition of mudrunner expeditions with an old physics addition re introduced ( tire inflation). Just speculation, but maybe wait to see if the view grows from minority to majority as well as, how well the re introductions are received and implemented. But for now it would seem that the devs at minimum are at least hearing that view point and acting upon it as well, however incremental it may be compared to the majority view.
That's what happens when a project becomes commercial crap to attract a group of noobs that couldn't be assed for an actual challenge. BeamNG is the last hope for innovation in terrain deformation. I can't wait for that team to release just an experimental stage of terrain deformation so they show these amateurs how a truck is meant to traverse on terrain not these numbered gimmicks.

Welp, time to go drop a preorder. I love the look of this, and I've been duly pleased with Snowrunner (and Mudrunner for that matter), so I have plenty of faith that this will be a good game. I also love how they incorporated a few nods to the community. Driving into a deep river with no snorkel and killing the engine; falling off a cliff; and stopping to admire the sunset. Those are all core elements of the player experience, and I like that they acknowledged their playerbase.

It sad really. Spintires was a one of a kind game. But since snowrunner, the game has gone from a real cohesive work of art to a confused game that clearly prioritizes profits over innovation. Look at beamng, a similar unique game that has stayed true all these years, without asking a penny for DLC. To me that speak volumes about the people behind the game.
Beam NG had no controvercies from the beggining but Spintires on other hand had lot of controvercies...Series was split into Mudrunner and Spintires and TBH Mudrunner was also good game but with Snowrunner I feel there's a lack of vision...like you said the priority is money now.

They gained popularity since Spintires under the support of the hardcore fanbase now they've turned the franchise into another commercial crap for casuals that don't even care to know how these vehicles operate in the real world. Only Sorokin can do something worse in new game, than it was in old one (tire pressure). What a pitty
E. Sorokin has nothing to do with the actual game development, he's a producer. That's for one. And the tire pressure in SpinTires was not done by Saber - OOVEE updated that game independently.
Looks like a huge move away from what appeals about the series, linear levels instead of open world & its just a scout upgrade which could have been added to Snowrunner

I hope it's not just exploration based, I loved taking trailers with too big of a load down a goat trail and feeling satisfied in getting it delivered. Just free roaming from point a to b with no challenging objectives other than 'get here' seems meh
My biggest problem with the game is there’s no flex. How are the off-road physics better in gta V ?
man... it's not as flat as line GTA off-road physics and suspension flex is there... it's just not for all trucks

Why is it called a Mudrunner game when mudrunner was a spin tires game
Realism is what lured me in to this franchise. Snowrunner was already a step back in my opinion. This new game is going too far for me. The same happened to NextCarGame and I'm still sad. There are not many games focused on proper physics simulation.
I'm with you. The only options are going back to Spin Tires or Mudrunner or playing games like BeamNG.

I like Spintires the most. I kept 2016 and latest version both modded on my drive and play only those 2. MR and SR are toy driving sim.

We'll have to see, but since it isn't logistically focused, it may appeal to more players who aren't interested in spending many hours transporting materials. However, replayability is something that may suffer

Looks awesome just hope it's not a crashing piece of garbage like snowrunners. Love snowrunners but can only play for like an hour then crash on SX. Literally crashes over and over doesn't matter if it's solo or multiplayer it just crashes over and over. Saber won't fix the issue either. If saber goes into this game with the same attitude then this game is already doomed lol
This game seems like its not going to be all that fun to me. I don't use scouts all that much in Snowrunner, and I doubt I'll play a game based around them. I saw other bigger trucks in there but the game seems more exploration focused and that's not the kind of game I'm looking for.
Care to guess or possibly know, how much will it cost?
