But it had the best villain in the series (including the movies) with Vigo. And it furthered Hiccup and Astrid’s relation really well. You have Tai Lung - a notoriously ferocious kung fu master now turned jail breaker was told all his life that he was destined to become the Dragon Warrior, but through a rage that spiralled out of control because of being rejected from his father figure, he grew bitter and cold and his only goal in life is not because of the Scroll, its because he simply wanted to feel accepted and have Shifu be proud of what he became You have Lord Shen - a war criminal that committed mass genocide on a village of Panda's because of a prophecy that will be his undoing, out of fear he did the deed thinking this would make his parents proud, but all he got was disgust and terror, so was exhiled and spent years honing in the war machines so he can use them to conquer china, not only is he the reason the panda's were executed, but him and Po shares a history that Po wanted to block out, making the journey much more personal You have Kai - a spirit warrior that was friends with Oogway himself, but when he discovered he can harness and consume Chi, Oogway had to stop him, to that end, Kai felt utterly betrayed by Oogway to he once called his Brother. So he returned after 500 or so years after gaining Oogway's Chi- and destroyed the Jade Palace, his battle with Oogway not only felt more personal, but through his twisted mindset, he felt that Oogway wronged him and thus had a goal to which he shall destroy every bit of infliuence Oogway had in the real world And now you have these pathetic weasles

No one cares about creating great stories anymore and ending them perfectly, they have always got to go a little bit further to squeeze the cash cow dry until it has no milk left to give, then take it to the slaughterhouse. Kung Fu Panda was fine after the 3rd one, so was Toy Story, they keep doing this sh*t because people have no creativity these days and just need to keep recycling nostalgia to remain somewhat profitable.

tbf the show is probably just them giving us flavourless mush so they can buy time to give us a gourmet meal later, seeing as it’s not canon. DreamWorks tends to make masterpieces of film or memorable ones (Shrek 2, HTTYD, Megamind, Puss In Boots: The Last Wish, etc.) and then drop down to make 2-3 mediocre ones in between. (Teenage Kraken, The Trolls, etc.) Kung Fu Panda 4 is after The Last Wish, Teenage Kraken and Trolls Band Together so judging by this pattern it’s going to be a really good film.

It depicts a couple of good storylines such as how oogway came to live in the valley of peace as well as masters council of gongmen city. It’s not perfect but it’s a nice addition to KFP fans who want to see more content

I read somewhere that authors originally planned to make 6 cartoons - they had so far-reaching plans! Then they lowered the bar and temporarily stopped at 3rd part. Only in 2023, DreamWorks decided to resume the original idea, when rehabilitated thanks to *"The Bad Guys"* and *"Puss in Boots 2"* . Have you ever wondered why in the third cartoon Tigress for some reason walks in yellow and obviously rich outfit? It turns out that initially this part was supposed to be dedicated to her, her rich origin and meeting with her real parents; this was hinted at in a short film about the formation of Furious Five. But, as usual, something went wrong. Let's hope that authors will return to this in the future. Return of Tai Lung and his becoming a hero/antihero is one of the most anticipated and oldest things in the franchise. There were too many mentions and references to this irbis, so authors made it clear that the story with the was not over yet. We already have good examples when the villains of the first part became heroes in the subsequent ones and received more fan love - Hector Barbossa, T-800 and Sunset Shimmer. With a good scenario, it will be the same with Tai Lung. Maybe we will even see Leader of wolves from the second part, as well as his pack. The authors hinted that he was not killed by Shen; *"He just fell,"* it was said. It is not known whether he will be - ally, neutral or enemy, but he is definitely expected. Still, his last act made it clear that good qualities of character are not alien to him.

I’m actually both excited and terrified for the 4th movie. I mean it already felt like the perfect trilogy with the first movie accepting your present and the second excepting your past and the third accepting your future. I honestly don’t see how they could improve it in any way with the 4th movie but I will continue to remain optimistic.

The first kung fu panda spin off show was actually pretty good. There was much better continuity and referenced the main series movies. The dragon knight doesn't even seem Canon, as everyone refers to him as "the dragon master" when it's always been "dragon warrior". It's weird because DreamWorks spinoff shows are usually pretty good like all hail king Julien, the adventures of puss in boots, httyd race to the edge, all having pretty good continuity. By that I mean, when an event happens in the show, it isn't forgotten by the next episode. The humor was also pretty good, not really talking down to it's audience but still being edgy in a good way. Just feels as though the dragon knight was made by a completely different studio. Edit: I honestly think all of the DreamWorks spinoffs are just AU's of the main movies. For example, the adventures of puss in boots seems to be a universe where he never returns to San Ricardo to pay off his debt, explaining why he's so selfish and morally flawed throughout the show. Perhaps the dragon knight is an AU where the furious five retire due to an Era of peace in China, thus the role of the dragon warrior becomes more symbolic, explaining why he's now the dragon *master*. I'm definitely thinking too much about a show that the writers clearly didn't put any thought into.

Cause while I agree the end does foretell the second movie, alot of things don't line up at all... Fishlegs being a simp when he already should have a love interest! Fishlegs and Snotlout simping for Ruffnut of all people?! Hiccup being so happy go lucky about thinking he can convince Bloodfist to be a good guy when all his prior experience should be screaming at him that it wasn't going to be that easy... Hiccup being so easily scared off, and convinced him and all of Berk couldn't fend off the third movie villan; In a group of only six Hiccup defended an island base from Vigo for months in a back and forth stand still! Not to mention literally two whole islands of characters that didn't seam to even exist in the third and fourth movies!!!

Just finished this series, I was in doubt for the first dozens of episodes, but after the last of the 3rd season, it had already won me. With bad graphics but good designs (works for animation as well), well thought parodic ideas and 0 IQ jokes making the character look dumber than a toddler... I'd say it's as contrasted in quality as Po's himself and his panda/yin-yiang identidy, which afterall can only be fitting.

Kung fu panda will always have a place on my heart, when i was 3 i got really bad pneumonia, and i was hospitalized for a long time, and that entire time i was hospitalized, the only thing they had for tv was a kung fu panda disc, and i would watch on repeat all day for weeks, so kung fu panda has always been a high up show for me

Legend of Awesomeness is the only KFP show I can aknowledge, it shows how Po's learning to be a hero since he recently became the Dragon Warrior, and the relationship he has with the Furious Five, Shifu and Ping is also so good. It had good comedy and antagonists too.

Maybe the new one can represent all of them. After all, chameleon can change her body to adapt to different fighting styles, is pretty skilled both physically and mentally to take on someone like tai lung, and can steal people chi/Ki. (Possibly as she hasn’t been shown to steal Ki/chi as of yet.)

So glad it’s not canon. When I saw how nerfed he was in the beginning I thought this was at some point before the third but then realized it was AFTER! Po should be able to solo those weasels. I also hate it when Protagonists who spent a good chunk of their lives doing good get immediately hated on by the people because they had one slip up. This was accidental too so it wasn’t like he made an unwise decision. Dude got nerfed and turned into a clown like Naruto in Boruto.

The movie left a lot to be desired and made no effort to expand on the characters story or any of side characters we all have come to enjoy and love. What they tried to do was basically shove what we already knew and loved back into our faces with less supporting cast and characters with no clear goal in mind on how to expand the story already established and dumbed it down a little for everyone involved and it just didnt strike the right balance.

I feel like if they just did interesting shorts every once and a while, like secrets of the furious five, that expand on the lore of this universe instead of these weird looking shows they could get the same, if not more, amount of attention and profits. The style of animation they do for the shorts is amazing and it’s cool getting to know how the characters and their legends.

Tigress was and is and incredible character and she along the rest of the five were removed for the sake of introducing the ONE NEW character we didn't need, so yes. This "Bossgirl" came at the expense of two female characters, you goose. Learn to notice bad patterns instead of immediately using your liberal buzzwords for something you don't like.

i'm still not totally sold on Po being all that nerfed honestly. A lot of what I remember are things either po would likely struggle with or are things maybe he is just letting the universe guide him. We see near the end of the first season that Blade is literally no match for Po for something as simple as removing a gauntlet. Might be copium. But I believe the Universe is talking to Po. Telling him to hold him self back. Trust that some of those defeats are needed for the best out come.

I’m usually very sharp for these kinds of things and I will say the nerf was handled just right in the beginning. Po was powerful enough that it took magic weapons and such to overpower him and he could use his kung fu for a lot of things when needed. Towards the end of the first season is when things got out of hand, Po lost several times to the weasel’s in the final episodes to the point where it felt like he was no match for them even when not counting the magic weapons. Basically the at the beginning I always felt like they gave us reasonable cases for why he was being challenged, but towards the end they didn’t care anymore.

Ya tigeress is the final Villain of kf6. So what happens now in kf4 and kf5 is that Po and tailung and Zhen becomes allies. Tigeress past is been revealed, very tragic because we know she was a princess of super strong kingdom. She got some reasons to be angry and mad for not knowing her past and HE BLAIMS PO FOR EVERYTHING SHE HAD TO GO TROUGH. After all the final battle will be ultimately Tigeress VS PO, Zhen and Tailung.

Returning to this. I have compiled a comprehensive flow of the KFP timeline. We start of with secrets of the furious five, because it’s the prequel. Then we have the original movie, Kung Fu Panda. Next the timeline splits. From here we have a timeline where Lord Shen died of early type diabetes 2, and so we go to legends of awesomeness. The other timeline, Lord shen did not die of diabetes and instead was diagnosed with HIV, so he’ll live a little longer, resulting in KFP2, and Legends of awesomeness never happened. We instead get the holiday special. We know this is the other timeline because tigress doesn’t like children in legends of awesomeness but she does in the holiday special. Now we go to KFP3 The timeline splits again. We get paws of destiny here. The second timeline we get Dragon Knight. The reason the furious five, master shifu, the valley of peace, Li and the pandas aren’t around is because Po and his dad were frozen in ice for 100 years and everyone died. They wake up in this new time era and decide to make a new life. This also explains why Po was nerfed because he was comatose for 100 years. And we have the non-canon timeline where KFP4 happens. Po and Ping never fell into that block of ice, and the four constellation children died in a barn fire tragically.

You have Tai Lung - a notoriously ferocious kung fu master now turned jail breaker was told all his life that he was destined to become the Dragon Warrior, but through a rage that spiralled out of control because of being rejected from his father figure, he grew bitter and cold and his only goal in life is not because of the Scroll, its because he simply wanted to feel accepted and have Shifu be proud of what he became You have Lord Shen - a war criminal that committed mass genocide on a village of Panda's because of a prophecy that will be his undoing, out of fear he did the deed thinking this would make his parents proud, but all he got was disgust and terror, so was exhiled and spent years honing in the war machines so he can use them to conquer china, not only is he the reason the panda's were executed, but him and Po shares a history that Po wanted to block out, making the journey much more personal You have Kai - a spirit warrior that was friends with Oogway himself, but when he discovered he can harness and consume Chi, Oogway had to stop him, to that end, Kai felt utterly betrayed by Oogway to he once called his Brother. So he returned after 500 or so years after gaining Oogway's Chi- and destroyed the Jade Palace, his battle with Oogway not only felt more personal, but through his twisted mindset, he felt that Oogway wronged him and thus had a goal to which he shall destroy every bit of infliuence Oogway had in the real world And now you have these pathetic weasles

Yep. It is sickening. No one cares about creating great stories anymore and ending them perfectly, they have always got to go a little bit further to squeeze the cash cow dry until it has no milk left to give, then take it to the slaughterhouse. Kung Fu Panda was fine after the 3rd one, so was Toy Story, they keep doing this sh*t because people have no creativity these days and just need to keep recycling nostalgia to remain somewhat profitable.
tbf the show is probably just them giving us flavourless mush so they can buy time to give us a gourmet meal later, seeing as it’s not canon. DreamWorks tends to make masterpieces of film or memorable ones (Shrek 2, HTTYD, Megamind, Puss In Boots: The Last Wish, etc.) and then drop down to make 2-3 mediocre ones in between. (Teenage Kraken, The Trolls, etc.) Kung Fu Panda 4 is after The Last Wish, Teenage Kraken and Trolls Band Together so judging by this pattern it’s going to be a really good film.

It depicts a couple of good storylines such as how oogway came to live in the valley of peace as well as masters council of gongmen city. It’s not perfect but it’s a nice addition to KFP fans who want to see more content

I read somewhere that authors originally planned to make 6 cartoons - they had so far-reaching plans! Then they lowered the bar and temporarily stopped at 3rd part. Only in 2023, DreamWorks decided to resume the original idea, when rehabilitated thanks to *"The Bad Guys"* and *"Puss in Boots 2"* . Have you ever wondered why in the third cartoon Tigress for some reason walks in yellow and obviously rich outfit? It turns out that initially this part was supposed to be dedicated to her, her rich origin and meeting with her real parents; this was hinted at in a short film about the formation of Furious Five. But, as usual, something went wrong. Let's hope that authors will return to this in the future. Return of Tai Lung and his becoming a hero/antihero is one of the most anticipated and oldest things in the franchise. There were too many mentions and references to this irbis, so authors made it clear that the story with the was not over yet. We already have good examples when the villains of the first part became heroes in the subsequent ones and received more fan love - Hector Barbossa, T-800 and Sunset Shimmer. With a good scenario, it will be the same with Tai Lung. Maybe we will even see Leader of wolves from the second part, as well as his pack. The authors hinted that he was not killed by Shen; *"He just fell,"* it was said. It is not known whether he will be - ally, neutral or enemy, but he is definitely expected. Still, his last act made it clear that good qualities of character are not alien to him.
I’m actually both excited and terrified for the 4th movie. I mean it already felt like the perfect trilogy with the first movie accepting your present and the second excepting your past and the third accepting your future. I honestly don’t see how they could improve it in any way with the 4th movie but I will continue to remain optimistic.

Legends of Awsomeness was the goat of Kungfu panda series
The first kung fu panda spin off show was actually pretty good. There was much better continuity and referenced the main series movies. The dragon knight doesn't even seem Canon, as everyone refers to him as "the dragon master" when it's always been "dragon warrior". It's weird because DreamWorks spinoff shows are usually pretty good like all hail king Julien, the adventures of puss in boots, httyd race to the edge, all having pretty good continuity. By that I mean, when an event happens in the show, it isn't forgotten by the next episode. The humor was also pretty good, not really talking down to it's audience but still being edgy in a good way. Just feels as though the dragon knight was made by a completely different studio. Edit: I honestly think all of the DreamWorks spinoffs are just AU's of the main movies. For example, the adventures of puss in boots seems to be a universe where he never returns to San Ricardo to pay off his debt, explaining why he's so selfish and morally flawed throughout the show. Perhaps the dragon knight is an AU where the furious five retire due to an Era of peace in China, thus the role of the dragon warrior becomes more symbolic, explaining why he's now the dragon *master*. I'm definitely thinking too much about a show that the writers clearly didn't put any thought into.
The adventure of puss and boots made me hurt but Race to the edge was amazing
Race to the edge actually wasn’t a spin off it was the way of showing what went on between the first and second movie that’s why it’s ended with the masked figure getting the egg which we would find out was his mom in the movie and the dragon would be all grown up
I’d say po was at one of his strongest in that show he flawlessly defeated tigress more time that I can count

Cause while I agree the end does foretell the second movie, alot of things don't line up at all... Fishlegs being a simp when he already should have a love interest! Fishlegs and Snotlout simping for Ruffnut of all people?! Hiccup being so happy go lucky about thinking he can convince Bloodfist to be a good guy when all his prior experience should be screaming at him that it wasn't going to be that easy... Hiccup being so easily scared off, and convinced him and all of Berk couldn't fend off the third movie villan; In a group of only six Hiccup defended an island base from Vigo for months in a back and forth stand still! Not to mention literally two whole islands of characters that didn't seam to even exist in the third and fourth movies!!!
They literally took po and everything he became and made him an unlikeable character.

Literally. That show was really fun and it just felt perfect for the franchise. And it was my favorite show when I was a kid; I still have one of the dvds for it
Just finished this series, I was in doubt for the first dozens of episodes, but after the last of the 3rd season, it had already won me. With bad graphics but good designs (works for animation as well), well thought parodic ideas and 0 IQ jokes making the character look dumber than a toddler... I'd say it's as contrasted in quality as Po's himself and his panda/yin-yiang identidy, which afterall can only be fitting.

Kung fu panda will always have a place on my heart, when i was 3 i got really bad pneumonia, and i was hospitalized for a long time, and that entire time i was hospitalized, the only thing they had for tv was a kung fu panda disc, and i would watch on repeat all day for weeks, so kung fu panda has always been a high up show for me
When I was nearly 12, I got dysentery which caused my stomach to ache terribly like it bleeded. I could just watch Kung Fu Panda LOF which had just came out. I was recovered after a few months and 3 weeks of aching, and I hope you got better now :)
I loved both "Paws of Destiny" and "Dragon Knight".
That’s basically how Dreamworks is, there movies are amazing and their spin-off TV shows are… decent.
Except that Legends of Awesomeness was actually enjoyable. Dragon Knight, mostly season 1 is just painful.

Legend of Awesomeness is the only KFP show I can aknowledge, it shows how Po's learning to be a hero since he recently became the Dragon Warrior, and the relationship he has with the Furious Five, Shifu and Ping is also so good. It had good comedy and antagonists too.

Maybe the new one can represent all of them. After all, chameleon can change her body to adapt to different fighting styles, is pretty skilled both physically and mentally to take on someone like tai lung, and can steal people chi/Ki. (Possibly as she hasn’t been shown to steal Ki/chi as of yet.)

So glad it’s not canon. When I saw how nerfed he was in the beginning I thought this was at some point before the third but then realized it was AFTER! Po should be able to solo those weasels. I also hate it when Protagonists who spent a good chunk of their lives doing good get immediately hated on by the people because they had one slip up. This was accidental too so it wasn’t like he made an unwise decision. Dude got nerfed and turned into a clown like Naruto in Boruto.
The movie left a lot to be desired and made no effort to expand on the characters story or any of side characters we all have come to enjoy and love. What they tried to do was basically shove what we already knew and loved back into our faces with less supporting cast and characters with no clear goal in mind on how to expand the story already established and dumbed it down a little for everyone involved and it just didnt strike the right balance.

I feel like if they just did interesting shorts every once and a while, like secrets of the furious five, that expand on the lore of this universe instead of these weird looking shows they could get the same, if not more, amount of attention and profits. The style of animation they do for the shorts is amazing and it’s cool getting to know how the characters and their legends.
I like to think that the 3 movies are canon and that the shows are twking place in another universe where Po is Dragon Warrior supreme.

Tigress was and is and incredible character and she along the rest of the five were removed for the sake of introducing the ONE NEW character we didn't need, so yes. This "Bossgirl" came at the expense of two female characters, you goose. Learn to notice bad patterns instead of immediately using your liberal buzzwords for something you don't like.
i'm still not totally sold on Po being all that nerfed honestly. A lot of what I remember are things either po would likely struggle with or are things maybe he is just letting the universe guide him. We see near the end of the first season that Blade is literally no match for Po for something as simple as removing a gauntlet. Might be copium. But I believe the Universe is talking to Po. Telling him to hold him self back. Trust that some of those defeats are needed for the best out come.
I’m usually very sharp for these kinds of things and I will say the nerf was handled just right in the beginning. Po was powerful enough that it took magic weapons and such to overpower him and he could use his kung fu for a lot of things when needed. Towards the end of the first season is when things got out of hand, Po lost several times to the weasel’s in the final episodes to the point where it felt like he was no match for them even when not counting the magic weapons. Basically the at the beginning I always felt like they gave us reasonable cases for why he was being challenged, but towards the end they didn’t care anymore.
To me it will always be a trilogy.

@@YamiSpyroX the Chinese dragon shown in the New Year episode is called Nian. It’s a different dragon. And according to the Chinese stories, nian is evil and ppl drove him off by scaring him w loud sounds and the colour red.

Ya tigeress is the final Villain of kf6. So what happens now in kf4 and kf5 is that Po and tailung and Zhen becomes allies. Tigeress past is been revealed, very tragic because we know she was a princess of super strong kingdom. She got some reasons to be angry and mad for not knowing her past and HE BLAIMS PO FOR EVERYTHING SHE HAD TO GO TROUGH. After all the final battle will be ultimately Tigeress VS PO, Zhen and Tailung.
The next Kung fu panda movie will probably be fire. They did an insanely good job with the new puss in boots, and I was expecting it to be another garbage sequel.

All I want for the 4th movie is to see Po as the badass and mighty dragon warrior he's fought so hard to become. ... And a villain capable of mopping the floor with him.
Returning to this. I have compiled a comprehensive flow of the KFP timeline. We start of with secrets of the furious five, because it’s the prequel. Then we have the original movie, Kung Fu Panda. Next the timeline splits. From here we have a timeline where Lord Shen died of early type diabetes 2, and so we go to legends of awesomeness. The other timeline, Lord shen did not die of diabetes and instead was diagnosed with HIV, so he’ll live a little longer, resulting in KFP2, and Legends of awesomeness never happened. We instead get the holiday special. We know this is the other timeline because tigress doesn’t like children in legends of awesomeness but she does in the holiday special. Now we go to KFP3 The timeline splits again. We get paws of destiny here. The second timeline we get Dragon Knight. The reason the furious five, master shifu, the valley of peace, Li and the pandas aren’t around is because Po and his dad were frozen in ice for 100 years and everyone died. They wake up in this new time era and decide to make a new life. This also explains why Po was nerfed because he was comatose for 100 years. And we have the non-canon timeline where KFP4 happens. Po and Ping never fell into that block of ice, and the four constellation children died in a barn fire tragically.
