  • Bee-lzebub (Queen Bee) is the deadly sin of gluttony. Hence, why she throws these elaborate parties and encourages everyone to overindulge, to literally feed off the good vibes of everyone in the room. That's also why she only wants them to do it for fun, and gets concerned when Blitzø is clearly doing so as a coping mechanism. That doesn't "taste" good to her, and she knows how bad it is for one's mental health.

    @DanGamingFan2846@DanGamingFan2846Ай бұрын
    • It's really not a good interpretation of her sin but I kinda get why they went that route since she's not supposed to be an antagonist so she can't be shown in a negative light. It's kind of a dumb thing honestly but it is what it is.

    • to add more tidbit about her design: Beelzebub is often called "the lord of the flies" and is associated with flies but here they instead went with a bee motif, which make sens, both insects are pretty similar but bees make honey, one of the most sugary food found in nature

      @Spyko-@Spyko-Ай бұрын
    • @@M00N3CL1SPE The reason why gluttony is such a "sin" is because it's self destructive and leads to lack of control to the point that you'd revert to the state of a feral animal.. Your reasons for over indulging don't matter, what matters is the act itself. However with Bee, your reasons matter, hence why she wasn't so keen about Blitzo doing it to drown his sorrows. She feeds on positive energy and people overindulging to have fun generates that but that's not that the sin of gluttony is about irl. Again, I get why they did it seeing as she's not a villain(especially if you compare her with, say, Mammon for example). Oh and also because overindulging in anything tends to be closely associated with greed, laziness and idolatry. Ultimately, it is about the lack of self-control and allowing our desires to dictate our actions to the detriment of ourselves and everyone around her. Clearly Bee is not about that life, she cares about the people in her party, heck she even cares about Blitzo. She shows no sings of greed or selfishness

While the other rulers have to maintain appearances Bee being the personification of gluttony does whatever she wants whenever she wants regardless what anyone has to say about it. • My read on Bee is that she is trying to code match Loona. Shrinks to her size; first reads her a "too cool"/badbitch girl and tries to match; then when Loona responds awkwardly, Bee tires to do the same; eventually she figures out that Loona responds well to aggression.

    @tyrant-den884@tyrant-den884Ай бұрын
    • Oooh, interesting point! But yea, this would make a lot of sense with my theory that she's all about keeping people comfortable. When Loona tries to deflect Bee's initial reassurance, we see Bee reiterate her acceptance of Loona firmly, which I think did get through to Loona a little bit. Loona responds best to firmness that she doesn't have to second-guess or interpret, which I can relate a lot to as someone with social anxiety.

  • What's crazy about this episode is it's a homage to Viv's past. Viv created an animation for her Zoophobia series with a Kesha song and her blue Wolf OC which Beelzebub is clearly based off (see when Bee turned blue in the song). This helped her get popular but also the sub plot of the comic would later include a hell, this hell would be later retrofitted into Hazbin which had characters break off into Helluva boss which now has a song referenceing where it all started, what a circle.

    • Yeah. Also a classic Viv thing of making this massive expansive world with lots of characters and stories, only to make it too large to fit everything, and spinning a part off to focus on that specifically, only to keep adding to it and running into the same problem and the cycle repeats. Its how Hazbin Hotel was formed out of Zoophobia and its how Helluva Boss was formed out of Hazbin Hotel, essentially taking a bunch of B-plot characters from Hazbin and giving them their own show. Plus it has given us one of the coolest interconnected universes in media in a while.

I interacted with her on tiktok briefly and its so disheartening that she has to be so chill about everyone constantly questioning if she actually sang it. People will really be like, "you can tell us if theyre just paying you to take credit!" And like a good sport, she shows up and sings it acapella again and again. Fun fact that years before she was asked to step in, she already had a pop song called Queen Bee, so you can add that in as a second full circle moment that's going on

  • One of the trivia bits released on Viv's patreon was that Bee, as the embodiment of Gluttony, is physically unable to feel full. Her body burns up the "honey" as fast as she can consume it. Beelzejuice is also the booze that Verosika was drinking in "Spring Broken", which caused the fish to monster out. It's canonically too strong for sinners and lethal to humans. Blitzo's ability to guzzle it is so impressive it's almost disturbing. The closing song "Monster's Ball" is by Silva Hound, who also did the "Addict" song for Hazbin. I'd love to hear a full version of it someday, it might be better than Cotton Candy.

    • As for Beelzebub's design from the series. It is, as I see it, a mixture of: Greek gods Hestia(goddess of Cooking) , Dionysus(god of winemaking and parties) and Artemis(goddess of animals) . Cerberus the Guardian of Gluttony from Dante's Divine Comedy. Kitsune the Nine-Tailed Fox Youkai from Japanese mythology. Fairies from Celtic mythology and English folklore. And Beelzebub from Philistine mythology and Judeo-Christian theology. Her appearance is explained by the fact that she is still a fly, but a hoverfly. These insects are known for looking like bees, but they are actually flies. Perhaps there may be fruit flies, which eat fruit and nectar of flowers, while being garden pests. One way or another, She used to have the title of Queen of the Flies, but then it ceased to be relevant, and she not only changed the name, but also the image and image of her Circle. She is also probably the former powerful Cherub, as we know these Celestials are crossbreeds of animals. They even wanted to insert the Cherub-Lion in the fourth episode. But many people call her more of a Seraphim, because the Cherubim in the Hellaverse are the lowest category of Angels, unlike the original Angelology, where they are the second most powerful and status. The fact that she eats and drinks a lot and does not get fat at the same time is explained not only by her title as the Sin of Gluttony, because you don't have to be fat or fat to overeat like crazy, but also by another design feature, if you pay attention, she has lava in her stomach, thanks to which everything she has absorbed will simply dissolve. In fact, when creating it, they were guided by Lava Lamps, as with the Morph from the Treasure Planet. Just as it can be understood and assumed that she feeds off the joy and pleasure of the guests at her parties, being in symbiosis with them. In this way, she reminded me of Ravana from the animated series Extreme Ghostbusters, and the Famine Horseman from series Supernatural, which The former used humans as his stomach, causing them to consume incredible amounts of all kinds of food, and the latter actually spread hunger and thirst in all possible forms, eating, swelling, having sex, and then both of them, when the time came, drained the life energy and ate the souls of their victims. It also showed in Supernatural a race of Leviathan beings who, after taking over the food industry, prepared and sold special food, which made people dumber, fatter and tastier, after which they had to be turned into food themselves. Back to Bee. She felt that Blitzo was not happy internally and emotionally, and she did not like the taste of his emotions, so she politely asked for him to be removed. It was like a fly in soup, doubly funny, right? And most importantly, Beelzebub is a Canaanite deity who became a demon-false god with the advent of Judaism. So yes, you can easily imagine herself, and she showed herself as such in the episode, as such a deity for the inhabitants of Hell, First of all, for hellhounds, who, as shown in the episode, are residents of the Gluttony Ring. And if Asmodeus and his ring have business related to the sex entertainment industry. The Gluttony Ring is the food business, where all the food is produced and amazing dishes are prepared from the products supplied from Wrath. Perhaps and I hope that in the future we will even be shown the Large Factory with her name, which produces all the sweets, drinks and the most important unique drink with a secret recipe, Beelzejuice, which demons can drink, but people and animals will at best just get sick and die from it, or at worst, mutate into something, and the plot could be then like "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" with Willy Wonka's fabric or "Wasted Talent" from the series Family Guy with Pat Pawtucket's Brewery. And then the role of Oompa-Loompas can be taken over by some Insect-Demons, who in any way are and live in Gluttony. It would be interesting and fun to see, like in the Men in Black animated series, where there was a race of alien bugs that ate sugar and sweets, and who had their own single Queen. It is also possible that in addition to the Dog-like Demons, there are cat-like demons among the Hounds, or as individual representatives, one of which may have been seen during a performance of Cotton Candy, but this is not certain. And some about her voice actor. Its Kesha a pop-star singer, who early has already worked with Vivsipop, voicing character JayJay and performing the song "Die young" in a short animated video of the same name. And this episode For a long time, they didn't want to release it because of the rights to the songs, but then everything was resolved. But the songs are not performed by Kesha, she is just wrote them, the singer is Rochelle Diamante.

  • Bee is a national treasure. She is genuinely nice, but her party girl energy can come off as a little mean. And because so much media shows girls with her personality as the mean girl, I think it's caused a cultural bias. Bee isn't afraid to stand up for herself, sure. But Loona's jealousy and insecurity causing her to dislike Bee isn't about anything Bee did. And I will forever stan Bee.

  • Though she's referred to only by a nickname in the episode itself, at 7:34 you see the Beelzebub's seal displaying her full name. 14:39: Remember, Bee said she is high on the "tasty" energy in the room. When people are having a good time with good intentions, it produces positive vibes that Bee consumes. But she can sense that Blitzo is not overindulging to have fun. He is trying to drown his sorrows and forget what happened between him and Stolas, and it is creating an unpleasant taste that Bee doesn't like. She wants people to get drunk and high at her parties for fun, not to hide that they are in pain.

    • As for Beelzebub's design from the series. It is, as I see it, a mixture of: Greek gods Hestia(goddess of Cooking), Dionysus(god of winemaking and parties) and Artemis(goddess of animals). Just as it can be understood and assumed that she feeds off the joy and pleasure of the guests at her parties, being in symbiosis with them, so she felt that Blitzo was not happy internally and emotionally, and she did not like the taste of his emotions, so she politely asked for him to be removed. It is also possible that in addition to the Dog-like Demons, there are cat-like demons among the Hellhounds, or as individual representatives, one of which may have been seen during a performance of Cotton Candy, but this is not certain. Bee also is kinda the opposite of Loona whereas Bee is a party girl who's (seemingly) confident and a popular people person and Loona is the introvert, stand-off ish and awkward lone wolf (pun intended). *AGAIN* this is just how i interpreted Loona's behavior this episode: introvertedness, insecurity, and heartbreak all wrapped in to one basically.

In fact, when creating it, they were guided by Lava Lamps, as with the Morph from the Treasure Planet, and Bombproof Striker's Horse from Helluva boss too. Just as it can be understood and assumed that she feeds off the joy and pleasure of the guests at her parties, being in symbiosis with them, ironic like bees with flowers, when they collect nectar for honey and spread pollen, allowing plants to multiply. Also in this way, she reminded me of Ravana from the animated series Extreme Ghostbusters, and the Famine Horseman from series Supernatural, first of them used humans as his stomach, causing them to consume incredible amounts of all kinds of food, and the second actually spread hunger and thirst in all possible forms, eating, drinking, having sex, and then both of them, when the time came, drained the life energy and ate the souls of their victims. • One very cool aspect of Bee's character and "powers" that is not literally spelled out but is heavily alluded to throughout the episode is that she is the ultimate empathic vampire. Not so much in that she literally feeds off of those around her to their detriment, but more that she does so by skimming off the top and actually serves as a mirror, reflecting back what she is taking in. This is the "selfish" reason she exists as a celebrity party girl and is famed as one of the greatest social event hostesses in all of hell. She ensures that everyone in attendance is having a great time and for the right reasons, because then the energy that is produced for her to exist on allows her to be what she has determined to be her best self. Bee is not fully in control of her own behavior and her own body and form, as demonstrated on two occasions over the course of the night, first when Loona was feeling uncomfortable embarrassed and awkward upon first meeting her, Bee dove right into an anecdote where she had felt the same in an effort to identify with Loona, with no regard for how Tex hearing the story for the first time would impact him. The second occasion was when she and Tex were trying to arrange for an intervention for Blitzo and talking with Loona and Loona's ramping up aggression and defensiveness finally bled over onto Bee and had her momentarily lose control, managing to growl out the warning "Don't F#$# with me." She didn't go on the attack, she didn't push the issue further. She warned Loona and held her ground and it would be Loona's projected emotions that determined what happened next. You could see how sad and regretful Bee looked immediately when Loona backed down and went after Blitzo, and Bee immediately banished her monster form and got back into party mode with hardly skipping a beat. This is part of the reason I have a personal head cannon that Bee as she is now is not the original Beelzebub but rather an upstart that somehow dethroned the prior abusive ruler and usurped their crown and power and are still figuring things out. Also why she looks like a half canine and half insect hybrid rather than all bug as many expected going into this. Not everything is perfect in Gluttony, but things are as best as Bee can figure them out for now. I'd go into further detail on it, but that's spoilers for future episodes and I won't ruin that for ya.

  • It wasn't a copyright dispute like you would typically have on KZhead, it was because of Kesha's (at the time) ongoing legal battle against her producer. Her contract gives him a cut of everything she makes and the case likely went on longer than they thought it would, giving how long it takes to animate an episode, they may not have realized when they planed her guest role. Rochelle Diamante was the one who sang Cotton Candy but Kesha still helped write it. There was no way around that and they didn't want to give her producer a cut of the money for it. So they had to way until the case was settled before airing the episode. Even if they replaced Kesha for the non-sing parts, she still helped write the song and it had been animated, so they couldn't just put in a new song. Once she was free of her contract they were able to post this episode without issue.

  • Beelzebub is definitely as sweet as she first seems but she is a ditz, she was trying to welcome Loona and show that despite her status she made the same type mistake as Loona with her doing it to Satan but then lost track in her own mind. Later she was just trying to get Loona to take care of her dad because she could basically sense his depression as she can feel those around her like an empath. However Loona is very prickly and lacks social skills (Bee calling her sour cream is perfect), she felt inferior as she wanted Tex (even if she knew better) and she didn't like the idea of Bee knowing Blitz better than her. I feel Beelzebub is much more in line with her hounds and the lower class than her fellow Royals, she even dates a hound which are lower than Imps.

  • A fun little fact about Beelzebub (Queen Bee) is when she says "[She] can taste the flavour of people at [her] parties..." at 15:44 in your reaction, that is a genuine thing she can do/has because at 16:09 She ends up calling Loona "Sour cream" which seems to be Loona's "flavour" to Bee It's like Bee has a supernatural version of Synesthesia (Which is when someones brain routes sensory information through multiple unrelated senses, causing them to experience more than one sense simultaneously.)

    • As for Beelzebub's design from the series. It is, as I see it, a mixture of: Greek gods Hestia(goddess of Cooking), Dionysus(god of winemaking and parties) and Artemis(goddess of animals). But many people call her more of a Seraphim, because the Cherubim in the Hellaverse are the lowest category of Angels, unlike the original Angelology, where they are the second most powerful according to their status. The fact that she eats and drinks a lot and does not get fat at the same time is explained not only by her title as the Sin of Gluttony, because you don't have to be fat or fat to overeat like crazy, but also by another design feature, if you pay attention, she has lava in her stomach, like her personally oven, thanks to which everything she has absorbed will simply dissolve.

  • While Cotton Candy is by Kesha, due to the copyright nightmare, someone else is singing Cotton Candy in the show, and Kesha "only" voice acts the spoken lines of Belzebub. The stuff Blitz won his drinking duel with is the same stuff that Verosica had in her little bottle, that turned the fish into a monster, by the way. ;) Blitz has been riled up by the truth-serum halluzination, followed right up by Stolas calling him his "Impish plaything" to the agents, plus the pseudo date with Stolas and maybe some of the things Striker said, still rattling around in his head... yeah... he has a lot to work through.

  • So I noticed something that may or may not be the case but here it is; imps refer to royalty as blue bloods and it's not a compliment. Stolas/royalty refer to imps as "little one" or itty bitty imp" or "impish plaything" and it's not a compliment. So these are almost slur levels of disrespect. So when Blitzø says "are you scared to lose to a little imp like me?" It really highlights how he sees royalty, how he thinks they see him, and how he sees himself. And it's heartbreaking

    @nathanrood865@nathanrood865Ай бұрын

  • Bee is this show‘s version of Beelzebub meaning she is one of the Seven Deadly Sins like Asmodeus. In the real world demonology, Beelzebub is a male who, when not seen as just another version of Satan, is often depicted as a mix between a giant fly and a bee or wasp due to his nickname being "Lord of the Flies". He is often seen as Lucifer's loyal second-in-command and the one to manage Hell's day-to-day affairs. To this end, he founded the Order of the Fly, a group of high-ranking demons handpicked by Beelzebub due to their unquestionable loyalty towards him and Lucifer which both help him run Hell as well as to keep an eye on the less trustworthy high-ranking demons (aka any non-member). Lastly, while Bee represents Gluttony in the show, the Beelzebub of real life demonology has sometimes been given Envy and Pride as Deadly Sins to represent, as well.

    @MarcMagma@MarcMagmaАй бұрын
    • As for Beelzebub's design from the series. It is, as I see it, a mixture of: Greek gods Hestia(goddess of Cooking), Dionysus(god of winemaking and parties) and Artemis(goddess of animals). In fact, when creating it, they were guided by Lava Lamps, as with the Morph from the Treasure Planet, and Bombproof Striker's Horse from Helluva boss too.
