Van Life - Couple Travels Over 20 Countries While Living in Camper Vans
Brittany and Drew from Mr and Mrs Adventure have spent an incredible 3 years living full-time in different vans while travelling across the USA, Canada, and most of mainland Europe.

They've travelled to: Canada, USA, England, France, Ireland, Scotland, Croatia, Sweden, Denmark, Senegal, Italy, Morocco, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Montenegro, and more!!!
The couple spent their first year on the road in a Sprinter van borrowed from Drew's parents, and they bought their second van in Europe: a right hand drive Ford Transit.
They earn money on the road through Drew's management work for a doctor in the US.
They have to carefully plan their travels because as Americans, they can only visit certain countries in Europe for 90 days at a time because of the Schengen Agreement, and then they have to leave the Schengen zone for 90 days.
The couple says that van life has completely changed their lives and their relationship, and despite some of the challenges they want to continue living in vans, so when they're ready to head back to the US, they plan to sell their van in Europe and convert a different van in the US to continue their van life adventures.

Hi Lucy, We get your question a lot. I, Drew, manage a teleradiology office and Brittany is a freelance writer. We often take on interesting projects that fall into our laps as a result of our MMA brand and what we do online. Ultimately, we are super blessed and made an idea we had back in 2010/2011 a reality. We choose to spend within our means and keep our expenses low to keep our lifestyle chugging along. Good for them. Travel while you are young and healthy! Beautiful couple inside and out. Glad to see this. People are NOT going to do it like I did, I am age 66 and did it all wrong!!! Cared about my job too much! I am so happy for these two lovelies.
J G....My husband and I worked over 45 y ears and then retired. I have regrets after watching all of the people here on You Tube who travel. My husband now has health problems and we are not able to travel. Not a trust fund baby at all...just hard workers. Thank you! Hope you are well and happy.

J G We notice some you tubers hint around that they need a new camera, or repairs on campers/vans, etc. I did not realize it until I saw a LOT of them doing the hinting around. Some get items mailed to them from the people who watch their channel. That is what I am seeing. Thanks for your input.

excuse me, but we have worked and saved and budgeted and gone without to make this lifestyle work. We don't make much but we are happy to live below our means, it's not always easy but it is worth it. We don't have nothing, we simply have what we NEED. And it's an incredible thing that the internet allows people to support themselves through the videos and content that they use their time and effort to share with others... that along with living more conscious lives. We were not able to afford changing our European van to solar, but if we can figure that out for our US van, we would love to work with our beautiful planet in that way. No trust funds here, just 2 people willing to live with less to explore and learn more about this life and our purpose... the road knows the way ♡

It is always so inspiring to watch van life stories! Slow travelling renting fully furnished places with our kids atm but ive always been atracted to van life and the freedom that comes with it
I love that you guys actually talk about a) visas / durations and b) the side of your steering wheel. These things are rarely mentioned, and it's freeing to see how someone else is managing these factors

We thought Croatia was incredible! We spent 4 months exploring it from Istria to Dubrovnik. Oh and the figs during July and August. Our mouths are just watering thinking about them. Do you know of a fruit stand nearby where we can pickup a kilo? in the USA that is ;)

Suggestion for a warm shower. Buy a 4" PVC pipe, cap off the ends, spray it black, strap/attach/mount it on the roof. Attach hose fitting and hose. Another valve on the topside of pipe to relieve suction when gravity feeding warm water down for shower. Saw this on the you tube.

You beat me to it Michael! I thought the exact same thing when I heard that part of the video. And then of course there's the standard collapsible solar shower five gallon things you can get from Amazon or other places that weigh only a few ounces unfilled and fold up very small.

If you still have contact with them she needs to know that painting, drawing and even watercolors (to some extent) can be done on an iPad Pro with Apple Pencil. Super compact and no cleanup.
if you have an extra iPad laying around that'd be sweet ;) and maybe I should have been more specific, I make jewelry which requires lots of little tools, little boxes for storage, etc. etc. A complicated little set up but I look forward to customizing a van-sized version for the next van ♡
Mr and Mrs Adventure right. I caught the jewelry part. That’s why I gave you a solution for painting only.... as for having a spare.... sadly, I do not. Maybe if your parents would give me their van I could buy one within a couple of months without rent and send it along!
You are awesome :))) And sadly they just sold the US camper! So we are without home/wheels when we venture back to the states too. Renting one for a week while you drive around an area (research available vans on AutoTrader and CraigsList) could be a plan!

Truth. And luckily we live it full time but we don't capture it full time. We do have a love hate relationship with all the technology, but knowing that it allows us to share the journey with our grandparents, and that our kids will be able to enjoy all our KZhead episodes with us one day, makes it all the more worth it. Plus we have seen so many amazing places that we wish we could have stayed in forever, and the photo and videos we have will allow us to at least enjoy them in ways beyond what our memories could do alone ♡

in regards to the 90 day rule for US travel. check out the nomad capitalist or international man to spark your creativity in obtaining a 2nd passport etc
We looked into being sponsored but due to Drew's remote work/job. It was too complicated flying back in forth from various countries and crossing boarders. Great suggestion though!

If you want to know how hard we work then please take a moment to see how we documented and sweated our butts off converted our new van in 23 episodes on our KZhead channel. I'm sure trust fund kids would do this instead of just buying a $100k van...
What a charming couple! How do they store the vehicle when the time comes to leave Europe for a while?? I'm actually considering different alternatives for spending 2-3 months in Europe each year travelling in a vehicle.

Hmmm. I thought they spent 90 days (or whatever the max time allowed without residence permit) in Europe and stored the vehicle somewhere until they could return to resume travel.
We've done a few different things, always depends. We went to Croatia for 90 days, went to Morocco for 90 days, England and a few times we went back to the US and left the van in a friends barn and a couple times at the long-stay car parks (Gatwick in London was $50/month)
It would be really nice if you label the countries as you shoot and edit the video. Regardless, I'm green with envy! Love your life.

Any parking issues over night due to the size? Wondering if I should get a sprinter or something like a Chevy van
no problems because of size except for the height barriers, especially in England and France! 2 meters and under is IDEAL for Europe.

Great video guys. Just one thing, when you are traveling to other countries, is not people that do not speak your language, but is that you do not speak their language...just to add that because english is not the world's motherthong. That said, keep going onthis beautiful adventure..
I can't do a van I need a little more like a Thor 25.2 real shower toilet couch and bed and I can use the passenger seat workstation area I don't have to change anything and I have hiked and camped out under the stars more than anyone I know but if I am going to live in it i need at least that

We just finished our van build if you are curious. It's the Taj Mahal compared to our Euro Van. We documented the entire transformation on our KZhead channel. We can't tell you how much we miss that Ford Transit, so many incredible memories and miles that we spent exploring in it.

How do you ship your van to different countries?
We bought this van in the UK and then took a ferry from Sweden from Denmark and from Spain to Morocco.

How much does it cost to ship your van overseas?
it depends on where to where but we know people who shipped a small RV from Canada to Hamburg, Germany for $2,800 (we bought ours in England to avoid that)

Thanks for watching! They only own one van in Europe, and they don't have an apartment or a home so that helps keep expenses reasonable. The first van they used in the US was borrowed from their parents :)

Exactly. US van = Drew's parents. European van = we bought as our 1st home together, we flew to England 5 days after our wedding in Florida to begin our search! We have a 5 x 5 foot storage unit in California where we store whatever we didn't need/couldn't bring to Europe. ♡

I appreciate what your'e saying but I know people who have difficulty covering rent and feeding their kids. It does take some resources and time to make the van life happen. I have yet to see janitors and grocery clerks leaving their low paying jobs behind to start traveling. Most videos the I have seen feature young professionals adopting the van life (obviously with some exceptions).
