‘Absolute disgrace’: Sky News host blasts police commissioner’s social media censorship

Sky News host Rowan Dean has blasted NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb after she urged people not to share misinformation on social media and to check police resources for new information.
“This is an absolute disgrace. This is a free country - the police commissioner is not the sole source of truth,” Mr Dean said.
“This is disgraceful how a tragedy is being used by our parliamentarians on both sides.”
The Sky News host also accused NSW Premier Chris Minns of “blaming” social media.
“That is authoritarianism, that is totalitarianism. Our politicians are out of control,” he added.

I tried to lodge a complaint about a police officer in WOY WOY NSW and was told at the counter I was not allowed to make a complaint against an officer. These officers stopped me from going to my DVA Psychiatrist because my "FREE TRAVEL" OPAL CARD wouldn't work to tap on for the train. I showed my free travel pass and they still wouldn't allow me. Showed my DVA Gold Card and they still wouldn't allow me. They left me having a "MENTAL HEALTH EPISODE" at the WOY WOY TRAIN STATION. When I finally got to speak to an Inspector his response was "They can do that if they want". I have sent a letter to the Police Minister (Yasmin Catley) - NO REPSONSE. I have sent a letter to the Police Commissioner (Karen Webb) - NO REPSONSE. I have sent a letter to the NSW Premier (Chris Minns) - NO REPSONSE. I have sent a letter to the Federal Minister for Veterans Affairs - NO REPSONSE. I have sent a letter to the Prime Minister's Office - You guessed it - NO RESPONSE. If we wonder why we have a veteran suicide problem in this country there's your answer. I'd gladly do an interview with any news group who'd want to talk and let the public know what these people are like.

I tried to lodge a complaint about a police officer in WOY WOY NSW and was told at the counter I was not allowed to make a complaint against an officer. These officers stopped me from going to my DVA Psychiatrist because my "FREE TRAVEL" OPAL CARD wouldn't work to tap on for the train. I showed my free travel pass and they still wouldn't allow me. Showed my DVA Gold Card and they still wouldn't allow me. They left me having a "MENTAL HEALTH EPISODE" at the WOY WOY TRAIN STATION. When I finally got to speak to an Inspector his response was "They can do that if they want". I have sent a letter to the Police Minister (Yasmin Catley) - NO REPSONSE. I have sent a letter to the Police Commissioner (Karen Webb) - NO REPSONSE. I have sent a letter to the NSW Premier (Chris Minns) - NO REPSONSE. I have sent a letter to the Federal Minister for Veterans Affairs - NO REPSONSE. I have sent a letter to the Prime Minister's Office - You guessed it - NO RESPONSE. If we wonder why we have a veteran suicide problem in this country there's your answer. I'd gladly do an interview with any news group who'd want to talk and let the public know what these people are like.
