That's what is expected from any striker. If he couldn't do that, he would not be called for among the selection. There was an evident penalty against Del piero that the referee didn't notice, or idk meant to not notice it.

Back in time, i remeber this was the very first time i saw Del Piero. Here, in Brazil, he was called "baby Baggio". This game was a "master class" from Del Piero, best man in the match! But with Ronaldo and Romário into the field you could score a goal at any moment of time. Brazil's best man in this match was Roberto Carlos, he was in absolut amazing form. This Italian Jersey, by the way, was the most beautifull ever made for "Azzurra"! Perfect itallian federation logo and incredible elegant golden belt in the short.

The difference between players then was huge. Now football is much more evolved. I remember a lot of matches from 90’s and watching them again just confirms how slow football was 20-30 years ago. Today is so much harder to compete.

Fue un gran torneo ese previo a Francia98, en este partido recuerdo mas alla de los Brasileños, lo fantastico que jugó Del Piero, estaba en uno de sus mejores momentos. Tal ves brasil no era un gran equipo, pero como individuos eran increibles, verlos era esperar lo inesperado, Geniales simplemente, y super humildes, todos los queriamos, no xomo los brasileños ahora, que ni son taaan buenos como los de antes y si se ham vuelto llorones y burlescos.

Revendo os lances dessa partida eu relembro o quão exigente nós brasileiros éramos. Achávamos ruim essa seleção absurdamente boa, criticávamos muito, hoje qualquer lixo vira craque só porque joga na merda da Europa, enquanto nossa liga tem o nível da segunda ou terceira divisão dos anos 1990.

sim. e outra coisa: hoje as pessoas confundem o futebol. no futebol, apenas os gramados, bola e chuteira foram aperfeiçoados. ao invés do nível de futebol aumentar ele diminuiu e são poucos que percebem. a questão que fica é: por quê? pois bem, mudaram o jeito de jogar, estão praticamente forçando jogadores habilidosos à não driblar, atacantes goleadores à perder tempo marcando. esse futebol europeu é a pior coisa que assolou a terra, esse lixo de tik taka não presta pra nada, não dá volume de jogo e não agrega em nada no objetivo. o bom é velho aquecimento chamado "bobinho" agrega mais valor ao jogador do que esse lixo de esquema tik taka. o ano é 2022 e o futebol está horroroso de assistir.

Se não tivessem retirado ele da convocação da Copa de 98 por estar lesionado, ele poderia ter se recuperado a tempo de fazer a diferença naquela Copa e talvez até trazer a taça de Penta para o Brasil 4 anos mais cedo. E em 2002, Romário ainda estava com 36 anos e tinha idade para participar de uma última Copa, e teria se tornado o segundo jogador do mundo a ter 3 Copas do mundo junto ao Péle (Caso a Copa de 98 teria sido ganha), e hoje nós não estaríamos atrás de um Hexa mas sim de um Hepta (7x Campeão mundial). Ao menos teria tido 2 Copas na sua carreira!

Fue un gran torneo ese previo a Francia98, en este partido recuerdo mas alla de los Brasileños, lo fantastico que jugó Del Piero, estaba en uno de sus mejores momentos. Tal ves brasil no era un gran equipo, pero como individuos eran increibles, verlos era esperar lo inesperado, Geniales simplemente, y super humildes, todos los queriamos, no xomo los brasileños ahora, que ni son taaan buenos como los de antes y si se ham vuelto llorones y burlescos.

sim. e outra coisa: hoje as pessoas confundem o futebol. no futebol, apenas os gramados, bola e chuteira foram aperfeiçoados. ao invés do nível de futebol aumentar ele diminuiu e são poucos que percebem. a questão que fica é: por quê? pois bem, mudaram o jeito de jogar, estão praticamente forçando jogadores habilidosos à não driblar, atacantes goleadores à perder tempo marcando. esse futebol europeu é a pior coisa que assolou a terra, esse lixo de tik taka não presta pra nada, não dá volume de jogo e não agrega em nada no objetivo. o bom é velho aquecimento chamado "bobinho" agrega mais valor ao jogador do que esse lixo de esquema tik taka. o ano é 2022 e o futebol está horroroso de assistir.

Se não tivessem retirado ele da convocação da Copa de 98 por estar lesionado, ele poderia ter se recuperado a tempo de fazer a diferença naquela Copa e talvez até trazer a taça de Penta para o Brasil 4 anos mais cedo. E em 2002, Romário ainda estava com 36 anos e tinha idade para participar de uma última Copa, e teria se tornado o segundo jogador do mundo a ter 3 Copas do mundo junto ao Péle (Caso a Copa de 98 teria sido ganha), e hoje nós não estaríamos atrás de um Hexa mas sim de um Hepta (7x Campeão mundial). Ao menos teria tido 2 Copas na sua carreira!
