Some things you could try as bait: smoked salmon, jelly donut, vegetarian meats (hamburger/sausage/chicken), string cheese stick, canned snails (escargot), chicken nuggets.
I have been asking for 8 months every video to try boiled eggs soaked in cinnamon for 24hrs before using yet have never been noticed, here in Australia it is an amazing bait for catfish.

You should try to fish with electronic bite indicators, as they are used in carp fishing and free line, to give the fish more time to play with the bait

Hey Nick, try putting soft bait like ( liver , cottage cheese ) and others that ate too soft for a hook in a mantle for a Colman lantern. They have built in draw string and really good for circle hooks
Tuna fish, sardines, anchovies, mackeral, salmon, limburger cheese... any of that!

Many years ago I used to catch carp on par-boiled new potatoes. You partly boil the potato so that it softens on the outside but is still firm inside Another favourite was a cube of corned beef.

This was so awesome and that was a really nice bofan yesterday I was in a farm pond with giant channel catfish and hybrid bluegills and the owner said there was only like 1 pound bass well long story short I threw a senko and just layed the pole on the ground a 5.2 pound bass ate it if u wanna see him he’s on my last video

For a crazy bait challenge I suggest Wheaties. Carp love them. You take a handful of chips and dunk your hand in water and squeeze, then let that dry out for a while in the sun before you hook chunks.

When you go to muddy places bring some snowshoes. I often used to fish in swampy/mossy lakes so I built me a pair of snowshoes så I could access hard to reach places. It worked like a charm and got me some very nice fishing.
When I saw the thumbnail I legitimately thought you were going to rig up the entire sealed package. This makes more sense 😅

Hey Nick, have you ever took a fishing trip to TN? Our waterways are some of the most biodiverse water systems in the nation. Most specifically, the Duck River is considered the most biologically diverse river in the US, with more than 150 different species of fish and around 50 species of freshwater mussels. I love bass fishing the rivers and lakes here, and have caught a nearly 30 lb catfish out of a small tributary of Normandy Lake using cut bait. I almost never have a failed fishing trip. I highly recommend you testing the waters of TN at least once.
