A documentary where Jackie Chan and his stuntman team show you the secrets of some of the great stunts they do in films. The film also takes you on the sets of "Who Am I?" and "Rush Hour".
Jackie's practical effects look better than CGI.
Yes🎉
4:45 the way he spins the chair is amazing
That's a good trick.
"You can do it! Except, do you have the patience or not?" Such inspiring words for any artist out there.
I could listen to Jackie talk about anything for hours. Absolutely love the mans passion.
Mad props to Jackie for explaining his stunts and production techniques in English when he can just easily do his lecture in his vernacular.
I believe he did two versions of this documentary. The other for the Chinese audience.
The action scenes made by just his stunt team was better than all the Jason Bourne and Taken movies combined.
"More than 120 takes for a 5-second scene." Next level commitment.
I think that's why he has the reputation of being difficult by some. He's a perfectionanist. A love him or hate him type of guy to work for/with.
He did 2900 takes for 5 seconds in Dragon Lord
Not next level, but Top Level
@@alexwong7324 Never heard of Jackie being described as difficult on the set. He wouldn't have survived in Hollywood otherwise since he's barely given any control there. While in Hong Kong, he often collaborates w/ his former classmates, and they were taught to listen to their older "brothers". Hard-working, yes. Hence, he holds the Guinness World Record for most credits in a single film.
This will remain more interesting than any action movies from hollywood in the past 40 years
Because Hollywood action movies before the 1980s were better???
This man is just LEGEND. Like Bruce, there will never be another.
cause the movie industry is going fast-food style. cutting budge, low-quality stunts.
@@catmeme4life220 Jackie already showed in this video that his style is about doing things the cheap way no matter the budget.
@@jp3813 you're right, but they're so few Jackie out there.
@@catmeme4life220 Like the OP said, there'll never be another. But the scarcity of such a style is part of what makes Jackie, Sammo, Biao, etc... special no matter the era.
Their face expression and ragdoll is out of this World lol
The humility and humor that goes along with all his skill and creativity is amazing.
The crazyness, would I say . All his films have - in common - the total absence of a script, a scenario, a story.
Even without expensive cameras & filming equipments, the action in this video still feels powerful & looks great compared to many Hollywood action scenes nowadays.
Totally agree with you.
Yes it does
Because he of his skillz
@White Balls Cheers to that!
Part of it is because of the inhuman working situation :-/ But still the result is very precious.
This is like a free masterclass for action directors
It's like a bible for stuntmen
Director nowadays don't learn they sucks and terrible.
^1 21w1
Even for FREE!!!
Absolutely.
This documentary is a gem
just like me
Different Class. Can't understand what folks are disliking when you see the effort and dedication they put into their craft. You should have nothing but admiration for them all.
Folk dislike because they're boring, dull, lazy types....everything Chan is not.
"some things are trick, somethings are abilities. This, is ability." - Jackie Chan
That should be in the same book as Bruce Lee quotes. Jackie's the man with the plan

R.I.P. to Brad Allan. One of Jackie Chan's veteran stunt team member and protege.
I'm speechless! One of the greatest martial artist, indeed. But what make me admire him is the humility he shows in the movies as well as in his Real Life.
This is some dream footage. The master of the action film
Imagine if Bruce lived to see Jackie become who he is now. He would be so proud, and the fight scenes we could have gotten would have been epic
Fist of Fury
jackie chan style basically is perfection... i think jackie hates the way US makes movies then. they wouldnt do 200 takes just to get the perfect shot. they want to go home different mentality.. these guys work hard and are the real deal, real talent.
Of all the martial artists, I respect him more than anybody.
Jackie Chan, The Man! Arnold Schwarzenegger, The Man! Steve Jobs, The Man! Bruce Lee, The Man! Jackie Chan is one if he most influential people to me, personally.
The Armor of God is by far one of the best martial arts movies I have ever seen. Absolutely stunning stunts and fight scenes. And that the horrible voice dubbing and brutally corny dialogue and overacting is not only easy to overlook, but just add to how incredible of a movie it is. Oh and having watched it at the age of 17yrs old helped too. I still (at 47yrs old) perform that double slap gum trick off my hand to my mouth. I was actually pretty good at it back in the day when I practiced it almost religiously till I could get it right almost flawlessly with one piece of gym and somewhat with two. Fuck I love that movie. Time to see if it's available to watch on KZhead right now. And if not then either Police Story or Project A
I’ma check it out, thank you for expressing yourself freely on here
"Then I see my bone, it doesn't matter I made it" - Jackie Chan
One of the most real creative and dare devil actor, director and stuntman.! Name it and you'll have it.thanks jacky chan! You give us so much fun in our youth even until now! You are a real artist! Thank you for sharing this video.
Filmed in the 90s, Jackie is one of the greatest action heros of all time if not the best. Nothing has matched the original police story ever since he made it.
One of the celebirties that will never be forgotten.
This was awesome. IDK why it is not being shown on larger platforms. What incredible insight we are given, and my admiration of the JC Stunt Team continues to grow as I see the degree of accuracy, speed and artistry needed to be a 'JC Stuntman'. WOW, just WOW! Thank you, Jackie Chan, for sharing your spectacular work and creative space with us. I for one, am honored!
The who am I scenes gets me anxious everytime I watch it!!
ive been looking for this documentary for 10 + years, remember watching it in the early 2000s
Jackie Chan and his brothers are so amazing to me. I'm so thankful him, Sammo, Yuen Baio and these absolutely amazing artist are alive.
I have this on DVD, so it's nice to see it available for fans here on YT as well.
Ahhhhh, jackie and his stunt men, stunt cars and stunt cameras! Best!
Jackie deserves every penny he earns
Shit more tbh
If I'm not mistaken, the Australian stunt guy who replaced Smoorenburg in the kick scene on the roof of WHO AM I is the late Brad Allan, the supervising stunt co-ordinator of MARVEL's SHANG-CHI. You can clearly see how much Jackie Chan had influenced Brad. SHANG-CHI without a doubt pays tribute to 90's Hong Kong action movies. 👍
I kinda felt for him as he failed to meet the expectations. Been there myself. Never want to experience that again
That was truly excellent! I could not stop watching. I then sent the video to friends and family to watch. Jackie Chan is a living legend!
I say keep it to urself
17:10 "Some things are a trick. Some things are ability. This is ability." Frickin' awesome.
police story jumping sliding down the poll in the mall, that is as real as you get and the most iconic stunt scene for me.... just imagining the cuts and everything, the height and lands he is instantly up on his feet.. incredible..
i haven't watch something soo dedicately and seriously the whole time like i watched this 1 hour 32 min video ... its a WHOLESOME!!!!!! my mind is totally blown away...
In the movie production, Jackie is the martial artist, the actor, the stunt, weapon preparation, and martial choreography, more
American : blue screen ready?! readdyyy!!! Jacky Chan : Where's my stunt team?!
Say what you will but for millions in Asia Jackie Chan is the goat of stunts! Simply legendary.
This was amazing to watch! Thanks Stuntmen Reacts for recommending it!
The amount of research and innovation he does in making these and his practice and preparation is sometimes to be learnt by everyone regardless of what they do for a living !
His dedication is unrivalled but to be the best you must be prepared to put the work in
😳 WTF did i just watched? Jackie is SuperHuman and the GREATEST!
Amazing True Artist !!!!
Stunt guy at the 1:19:35 mark brad Allen (RIP) was the stunt coordinator for Shang chi
I love Jackie's movie's, because the violence is kept to a certain level and theirs a lot more artistry and humor to get out a bad situation. The tricks do make the scene a little more realistic. You know right off that the stunts are more involved then all the slow motion shots of one guy falling down, because Jackie is doing more involved scenes than Steven or Van Damme. He is the last of the true Chinese Martial Artist that have made it america. We are blest to see any of the new or those still shooting in China. He has made it a point, that his scenes are real, with special effects. You get more in two minutes than all the work out scenes in kickboxer, their are alot of standing fight scenes with Steven, never gets beaten, he's always a steam roller.
And the plot lines are great too. I watched quite a few of his movies over the past several days and the stories kept you on the edge of your seat as the storylines kept taking different places entirely. Several of them had me crying at the end
"do you have the patience or not?" -Jackie Chan
I Paused this in the middle to go get some coffee... and to just say I grew up with Jackie Chan.. Always loved his movies.. Now I have kids and they are starting to get into Jackie Chan Movies.. I remember buying his stunt tutorial VHS and watching that over and over again until it died :( me and my friends used to practice falling, flipping, fancy kung fu.. Jackie Chan made my childhood absolutely thrilling.. I was looking for that 90s stunt tutorial video on the internet hoping I could buy it for my kids but can't find it anywhere.. If anyone can find a link to that, I'd appreciate it immensely!
I'll certainly have a look for you - he was demonstrating fights routines?
if you can remember the title I'll see what it might be called now.
Man.. I can't remember the title of it.. But he was showing you how to fake a punch, kick, getting shot on camera, How to fall backwards, forwards, sideways properly, How to rig chairs.. Most of the last 30 minutes of this Video where also in that VHS..
@@B0BtheNinja okay leave it with me....I think I have an idea

GENIUS. ALL OF THEM. LIKE BRAD ALLAN. R.I.P.
"So you see we do these falls on mattresses" *Proceeds to break his back on concrete, chairs, cars and giant Ming vases*
This has inspired me to go outside and do backflips
Hongkong movie filling my 90s memories, many good movie. Nowadays too many CGI,its hard to watch it 😖. Jackie chan, Rosamund Kwan, Sammo Hung, Maggie Cheung, Lin Ching Sia,and the super funny Stephen Chow with Ng Man Tat, some of the my 90s favourite star ❤️
I ahte how in western movies there are so many camera transitions in action scenes. Its horrible in fighting scenes.
Legend
good actor, good director, good martisl arts..the best jackie chan ever..
Dont forget he also a comedy too
don't forget good singer and comedian too.
10:05 that duo throw and catch was smooth
The stuntman wouldn't have made it onto the team if he wasn't insync with Jackie.
Some of these are so simply amazing. The man is a genius.
I love the way Jackie shared his trade secrets.
ONE of the BEST ... Whom is HARD to FORGET... Thank You Jackie Chan...........!!???
Greatest martial artist of all times ❤️❤️❤️
My favourite actor Jackie is a legend
The cameraman at 11:24. That's dedication.
King of creativity and legend of stuntman.
Rip brad Allen
I have a literally watched this maybe 20x times already i’m an actor and people sometimes make fun of me because I watch movies over and over because I’m actually studying!
He's always been ahead of the times. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
44:20 A cameraman or a stunt man?? Jackie: Yes
you can tell how passionate he is about his craft. was my hero back then, still is now.
this is one of the videos i found on youtube that im more happy about xD Crazy underapreciated, jackie is a undisputed king of creative and phisicality in action cinema
You've go
Benny was no slouch and could give Jackie a run for his money any day of the week. 6 title belts speaks for itself. Along with that Benny was 49-1-1during his competitive career,.
I perfer the cheap way of making action movies. Green screens are ruining creativity in a way. Once you watch a fighting movie, you kinda wanna get the impression of _physically hard working people_ and _creativity_ - which is missing in most modern fighting movies. Jackie Chan and his stunt team are living legends. In fact, Jackie Chan is one of few ppl I would love to meet one day.
My God! This is the reason why he's my favorite and idol artist forever those stunts, action fights, and moves are real those stunts are no joke even I was doing stunts before as extra.
I like how the communication with his crew during fight choreography is kind of like Guitar Hero, what with the rhythmic audio cues. Only if you miss a note you get hit in the face with a giant stick. He must hate it whenever he can't bring his crew in. I mean, many stunt people are good at what they do, but you just can't get deeply developed teamwork like this unless you've worked together for a long time. Like, he said two words to that guy and they just threw each other their props with expert timing. Anyone else would go "huh?" and get hit in the face with a giant stick.
Amazing presentation on how my idol does his job. Love his stunts. Indeed, you are a versatile actor. Kudos! Your stunt team awesome, too...God bless...--Philippines
This is awesome!!
Yooo Jerry!
Jackie chan the greatest of all times !!!!
dont forget guys and girls this man is the only stunt man to get his own cartoon show
Jacky Chan is a perfect example of the saying "where there is will, there is way." That has been his Mantra for success.
We all love Jakie, but props to the camera man who kept the shot flawlessly on that car when it fell off the building.
at 10.07 the way they exchange eachother the weapon..so smooth:))
Bruh those stunt falls would yeet my soul out of my body
This Guy is a Living Legend, love you Jackie!
"much bigger much stronger much longer." -Jackie Chan
I always thought Jackie sounded like he had a cold when he's talking about the fan etc. Love this documentary.
11:20 "oh wow that seems really messy!" *pans to the cameraman covered in fake blood* "oh"
The fake blood is always used in filmmaking especially the Asian Kung Fu movies for example.
THE GREATEST STUNT MAN 👍
Jackie Chan is a planetary treasure!
Thank you for the share. ✌🙏☯️
Love it! Thank you for posting it on your channel. Thank you Jackie Chan for making it and inspiring so many other talented filmmakers.
This is a amazing documentary love Jackie chan films

I respect Jackie Chan more and more. By the way, The Myth is one of my favourite romantic action movie of all time.
His movie always left a big impact on me. So sad that I can't experience it again with nowadays camera quality.
Revisiting this, still truly fascinating! Before all the CGI crap used today!
Jackie Chan is great
The way he held it with one hand 16:38 ..... man he's strong!!!!!!!!!!
Jackie the man, 50 years and he still going. He has probably broke ever bone in his body. First movie I watched staring Jackie was Drunken Master.
Jackie chan is a pure legend and icon the film industry , and he is a great martial artist to , no doubt aboute that , wish him the best in the following years to come .
