📼Video Summary:
Krispy Kreme is famous for its donut machine. You can watch the machine from behind a glass wall inside the store. The first Krispy Kreme store was in 1937. In the 1950s they used the Krispy Automatic Ring-King Junior to make the donuts. The machine today is a lot bigger and can churn out over 3000 donuts per hour! The machine has several main parts: mixer, extruder, proofer, fryer, glaze waterfall, retail curve, and cooling tunnel. The machine can be modified to make different types of donuts; some of them are dipped by hand into colored icing. Experienced workers need to monitor the machine at each step of the way. Just in case, they also have the emergency stop button.

This helps avoid doing work for nothing, in case the feature should have a different design, is already under development, or is not desired functionality. The chat and forums are good places to get feedback about this. To talk to the individual owners of the relevant code, see the list of modules and their owners. @PC_YouTube_Channel@PC_YouTube_ChannelАй бұрын
    • Yeah water would make the fire worse. CO2 or some gas like Halon. I just read a report about an actual fire where this system was used, and it said it kept the fire "contained" until people got there (it was at night, somebody left the heating elements on).

      @tomholroyd7519@tomholroyd7519Ай бұрын
    • Good question! This is NOT water and I should have made that more clear. Some sort of chemical mixture to put out the fire

      @JaredOwen@JaredOwenАй бұрын
    • I don't know exactly what chemical is used, and it varies per location, but it is usually a dry chemical which produces a ton of C02 when heated. The mechanism that triggers it is literally (usually) just 2 pieces of metal glued together with a heat-sensitive adhesive, then put under spring tension. Enough heat melts the glue, the spring pulls the wire and it dumps the dry chem on the fire. Again I don't know for sure 100% this stuff, but I work in kitchen exhaust cleaning so I interact with this stuff every day.

  • Jared Fantastic video with the animation showing each step of the process !! I have 2 "factory" Krispy Kreme stores in my area and they are the best. It's always nice to drive by and see the HOT sign on which is time to load up on fresh hot donuts. Krispy Kreme donuts really are the best and the glazed melt in your mouth.

  • I’m not sure why I find these videos so fascinating, since I’m not mechanically minded and never thought I was all that interested in how things work. But somehow the excellent animations and clear explanations keep me watching to the end, and I always learn something. I hope you do videos someday on electric fans, air conditioners, refrigerators… and many other topics!

  • in 1962, my Boy Scout troop made a deal with KK in which they would send a truck to our location early Saturday morning with MANY dozens of fresh donuts which the Scouts would pick up and deliver door-to-door to customers they had taken orders from the night before. (After the first solicitation, customers said, "Standing order; just bring 'em.") A dozen donuts cost 50 cents. KK split the income with us 50/50. This Fall fund raiser sent MANY Scouts to week-long summer camp year after year. Thanks KK. You're the best ... and so are your donuts.

  • This is fascinating channel!! Have you ever done a behind the scenes? That would be incredible to see an idea go from start, scrpiting, planning, creating the content, animating, and the thought process that goes into what POV is picked. If nothing else, it world be a great STEM piece to inspire others. I love this video. Thank you!!

  • I'm genuinely impressed by the level of precision and efficiency of Krispy Kreme's donut machine! From mixing the ingredients to frying and cooling, every step seems to be perfectly orchestrated. It's no wonder they can produce thousands of donuts per hour. This video was both informative and mesmerizing

  • I love the idea of showing how global chain stores make their food! Many people don’t actually know how their fast food is actually made, I work at a In n Out and it would actually be a quite interesting video on how our food is prepared and the equipment we use in the store. Great work love your videos!

    • As a British person who has dined at In 'n' Out in the past, I have to say I'm very surprised that the chain hasn't expanded into the UK market yet. Make the burgers Halal and provide vegan burgers for the vegetarians, I think the business would prove _hugely_ popular here. 🍔💨👍 Of course; In the UK market, that _In 'n' Out_ logo would need a circle of yellow stars around that bend in the arrow... 🇬🇧💨🇪🇺😉

  • @JaredOwen 11:45 You cannot put out oil fires with water. That will cause the oil level to rise and spill over, causing the rest of the kitchen to be on fire. Instead, they use a chemical foam that cuts off the oxygen supply to the fire, effectively smothering it. For oil fires, a Class K fire extinguisher (United States) or a Class F extinguisher (Europe) is designed specifically for cooking oils and fats. Another thing that they use is a fire blanket. A fire blanket works by smothering the fire, cutting off the oxygen supply that the fire needs to continue burning.
