I love this ending, it leaves us knowing that he’s turned a chapter in his life. While there may be darkness, the sun is always shining somewhere.
Me too.
That hit different bro
Me too cause when I watch this in the ending it makes me feel and realize of it what is trying to say about hope
Oh! I didn’t know that’s what the ending meant. Thanks for explaining.
My only complaint with it is the fight could’ve been better
The part where he holds the woman's hand was incredible. Batman has given people hope
@squidward Damn I didn't notice that. Everything about this film was perfect
Damn, batman doing superman's job now 😂
@@Fastbub Batman still scares the hell out of criminals, but it wouldn't make sense if he scares innocent people too. Since he's still a Hero in the end so he wants them to know that he's there for them.
I love how it shows his growth. At the start after his opening monologue and he beats up the guys from the subway the guy he saves cowers in fear and says "please don't hurt me". And by the end, people are looking to him for safety.
@@SohiHien Excellent observation. I noticed the contrast as well when I saw the movie. Outstanding work from the cast and crew.
No idea why some people have a problem with this Batman
There arent many of them thankfully
To me, I feel this might be the best movie interpretation of the Batman character I have seen. It resonates so well to the comics and animated series.
No I don't think so about 95% love this Batman even as a Gamer who played Arkham series I loved it
Only like 5% idk why those people don't like these great movies spiderman no way home was great too but for me batman it is
@jjtolsk in my eyes, a dark batman is the best Batman, because Batman has always been a dark superhero
Literally cried when he said how physical wounds can transform us and give us the power to endure. The first 3 months of this year have been really tough for me, but this scene, as silly and cliche as it may sound, gave me hope that things will slowly become better if I stand tall.
✊️✊️
Dude it will get better don’t ever lose hope and faith at all
That’s why these movies are so goated
Now that you mention that, I really pray the writer put this in the script as an inspiration for us that find these changes troubling. And I really hope everyone else involved in the film agreed.
You got this man. Don’t give up.
That monologue ending alone with something in the way playing while we see Batman (Bruce Wayne) being the light of hope is the most heroic and beautiful scene ever in a Batman film 🦇🖤💯👏
The moment he leaped off the railing and grabbed the cable to cut it I knew the rest of the movie would be more heroic and beautiful than any other superhero movie since probably the train scene in spider-man 2.
"Those scars can destroy us even after the physical wounds healed, But if we survive them, they can transform us, and they can give us the power to Endure, and the strength to fight"
THIS IS WHY I LOVE BATMAN
The scenes in the end, with Batman lighting up the flare, leading the frightened people out to safety and later where he carries the injured girl to the medics, together with the monologue by Bruce were so great at showing his growth as a character. From an angry vigilante to the protector of the city and the symbol of hope. In an age where Hollywood has pretty much deconstructed all our fictional heroes (Luke Skywalker, James Bond, even He-man!) this was really great to watch. Hats off to Matt Reeves for making such an amazing movie.
Beautifully written 👏.
Totally, the concept of him creating fear from being in darkness at the start to being the light that creates hope that guides people away from the darkness was bloody brilliant writing and a great visual metaphor. I freaking loved this film.
In a sense The Batman was a deconstruction of Batman's origin story. The death of his parents isn't shown on screen. Him learning how to fight isn't shown on screen. His gadgets aren't either. But Batman doesn't become the heroic Batman we know until he sees the failure of his approach that consists of nothing but violence. He stops being "Vengeance" and becomes Batman.
This monologue perfectly encapsulates batman and everything he stands for. Matt reeves just gets it in a way no other director does. Battinson is the best Batman. Without question. 🦇
Agreed. Just with a single movie I already see him as THE live-action Batman.
matt reeves is already the sam raimi of batman movies
@@Benton-m6dzqa well said actually
The fact that this movie suffers some level of production hell and Christopher Nolan being the director you will need to compete to become the better director for a Batman film, somehow Matt Reeves fuckin nailed this shit. I know for a fact that a sequel would be better considering the bank they've made from this film
@@jasonalv7436 yes. TDK trilogy is great but its batman was lacking in many ways and Matt Reeves found a way fill those needs.
His arc of being an agent of vengeance and beating up people for the fun of it to being a man of justice and being the hope people need. Epic af.
Couldn't have put it better.
I love the fact that the opening monologue is about how Hes's vengeance, and the ending is about how Hes's hope. This is such a great film and they managed to do what batman begeins did, which is actually giving Bruce/batman character development.
Finally, a superhero film that remembers what a superhero is.
This ending was so EPIC
That version of Something In The Way is just 😍
Watching this scene in the cinema after two years of Covid, lockdown, quarantine measures, seeing Gotham flooded and deserted and in a general state of ruin, with Pattinson’s voiceover describing how long the road to recovery will be, and then seeing Batman assist the emergency and rescue services, holding the person on the stretcher’s hand before they’re airlifted, just as the sun rises over it all - it definitely chilled me. Charles Bukowski once wrote: “There is a light somewhere - it may not be much light, but it sure beats the darkness.” This scene exemplifies that. And I never thought I'd associate Nirvana's 'Something in the Way' with hope, and Batman choosing to 'become more'.
it not the film we deserve, but the one we need.
HAHAHAH bruv trying to be philosophical here
That scene made my eyes water. Beautiful monologue.
God that cello riff at the end is SOOO GOOOOD
It’s actually a Cello!
@@soakedwithbleach oh ok, I'm not really knowledgeable about musical instruments so I assumed its a violin
This Batman is more human than the previous ones. You can feel the inner fight between Bruce Wayne and Batman. Previously Alfred had to constantly stop Batman in order to don't allow Bruce to dissappear. Here he's always talking to Bruce, just like a father to a angry son.
I’ve been waiting to hear this again since I watched the movie
It’s fucking beautiful, intensified with the monologue
The look he makes looking at the woman being lifted up was so satisfying...
This movie is a love letter to batman fans
I wish they would release the heroic version of Something in the way that actually plays during the ending monologue
I'm sure at some point, some KZheadr could make a convincing version of it themselves
I think Samuel Kim music is your man for the job. I think he’s already made one, I’m not sure if it’s the heroic version of something in the way but if not he’ll probably get to it.
About a year ago, I found this song when I was going through an alternative phase. It was Something in the way (doomer) and I sounded so good. Maybe you’ll like it, but I do like the movie version of the song. Check it out tho and lemme know if you like it?
Not a good idea.
A heroic version wud make him a bit more like superman, not ideal tbh.The same song playing kind of gives u a feeling that the song has changed during this journey too
I've seen this film 3 times and I get emotional during this scene each time. The sunrise mixed with the hopeful rendition of "Something in the way" is just perfect
Same, just saw it a 3rd time. I get emotional when he leads the people out of the flood and this part.
@@officialthomasjames It actually gives me so much hope
The rise at 1:52 and the soulful part at 2:00 are my favourite parts! Loved Rob’s voice..
Omg same that little musical moment ugh.
The greatest ending narration to close a Chapter of his journey of The Batman to begin a new one 🦇🦇🦇
Wednesday, November 6th The city is underwater. The National Guard is coming. Martial law is in effect, but the criminal element never sleeps. Looting and lawlessness will be rampant in the parts of the city no one can get to, and I can already see things will get worse before they get better, and some will seize the chance to grab everything they can. I’m starting to see now. I have had an effect here, but not the one I intended. Vengeance won’t change the past, mine or anyone else’s. I have to become more. People need hope, to know someone’s out there for them. This city’s angry and scarred, like me. Our scars can destroy us, even after the physical wounds have healed. But if we survive them, they can transform us. They can give us the power to endure, and the strength to fight.
I'm so sick of this false narrative that Pattinson "didn't play a good Bruce Wayne". These people don't get Batman. In fact, he played the most real Bruce Wayne we have seen yet. At the heart of Bruce Wayne's character, he's beyond troubled, even during his development into the playboy persona. This is what Pattinson portrays so well. A real Bruce Wayne. A broken one, unable to become his true self until he puts on the mask.
“I’m starting to see now. I have had an effect here. But not the one I intended. Vengeance, won’t change the past. Mine… or anyone else’s. I have to become more. People need hope. To know someone’s out there for them. This cities angry, and scarred. Like me. Our scars can destroy us… even after the physical wounds have healed. But if we can survive them. They can give us the power. To Endure. And the strength to fight.”
Forgot ,”they can transform us”. Line at the end, and some words are thrown in
@@mariothomas494 Then you do it or get off my ass~!
Ending was just perfect. Robert Pattinson is the best BATMAN
Friday…March 4th……. The theater is crowded for the movie….riddled with the smell of popcorn. Shoulder to shoulder. Waiting for it to start. And I’m there too. Big red letters come onto the screen……. THE BATMAN I fell in love.
Me too
*Grandpa goes to the bathroom* Something in my way MmmmmmmMmmmmmmm
This scene of Batman holding the girl's hand reminded me of the scene with Batman and Ace in the animated show, Batman is dark, yes, but a lot of people forget he's also a knight, a Dark Knight
this version is epic, the violins at the end
Dude took 2 rounds of nitro express and still stuck by to help his people. This is why batman is the best
Matt Reeves is so amazing as a director. He got everything right with this movie.
Everything about this movie was Masterful Great monologue.
I was so satisfied of the ending . Nirvana and the narration that really did it .
The darkness, the grittiness, the whole 1940s noir vibe it reminded me of the batman animated series I used to watch on cartoon network as a kid!!! This is the greatest batman movie ever made idgaf who says what
I apologize for My English If you pay attention .. when the Young woman touches his arm , the Batman really doesnt know what to do at first! He just can't understend how he changed so much from the beginning of the film ( please.. don't hurt me ) , but he did Pattison gives a great performance
Nobody here won't hurt you.
This Gotham feels just like Arkham city, an architectural mess with half the city submerged in water.
I love this ending so much, he realises he isn’t the darkness, he’s the light inside it.
Two Things I Love In This Scene: Pattinson's monologue, definitely the best monologue I've heard yet. Michael Giachinno's Theme: I love the theme he composed for this. Especially the part from 2:00 to 2:10.
That Violin that Hugs the Song, I love it
I have honestly never seen a Batman film tackle vigilantism the same way this movie does. There might be a comic that does this theme as well but I'm not much of a comic book reader. Usually in most if not all Batman films, he learns the valuable lesson in vengeance not bringing any peace or killing someone makes you the same as them. But this film tackled what I had never seen in Batman as a character before. This movie doesn't tackle the theme "Revenge will not make you feel better" or "Revenge will hurt the people around you" but rather how becoming a symbol of vengeance can inspire other people to twist your message. He is still a broken man disturbed by his parent's death and the reason he fights crime is not to save people but rather to avenge his parent's death. In the end, he learns that being a symbol of vengeance could cause massive consequences, the guilt that Riddler and his army would not exist if it wasn't for him will still haunt him and he can't only fight crime to avenge his parents but he must also become the hope of Gotham. That's how you have an effect on the world
i hope we get an offical relase of this version of the song
For real
I can’t stop my tears in this scene… Damn.
Same here man. Beautiful monologue.
*Gotham is hell on earth. Batman realized that hope is more necessary than revenge. He'll help with philanthropy in the next movie so there aren't as many people who have suffered and become monsters like Riddler.*
This ending is perfect it shows us that he has changed and has learned that if we all stand together it can give us the power to endure the spark of hope in gotham and light the torch and guide them out of the darkness
I have watched the movie thrice now. This part always gets me.
I like that everyone sais batman isn't supposed to stand for hope but even in Nolans batman begins he explains how he wants to create a symbol that would give the people hope but spread fear to the criminals. And as far as the symbol of hope belonging to superman that wasn't even something anyone has ever heard of until Snyders man of steel. You even hear the batman symbol given credit for hope to the people in Micheal Keatons Batman Returns.
Everything about this scene is amazing. I got absolute chills.
Definitely one of the best superhero movie endings of them all and definitely the best and my favorite in my opinion
as a huge batman fan, this is beautiful
City’s angry.. scarred.. like me!!! Goddamn!
At first I didn't really understand the something in the way song choice, but now I think I do. Imo it seems like a metaphor of his vegengeful side getting in the way and finally figuring out that he needs to be more than a vigilante hell bent on vengeance... This is when he figures out what kind of symbol Batman really needs to be...
I really love the ending. I don’t know but something about the monologue and the music with it makes the ending so amazing.
I need a version of this song with the cello it’s so good
I think it was really cool that Batman was narrating the story
Batman's greatest power isn't his wealth, or his mind. It's his incorruptible spirit
I feel this is setting up a “No Man’s Land” type of story in the sequel.
TAKE ME BACK TO OPENING NIGHT
Knowing Matt Reeves is already skilled at slow-burning trilogies, this scene makes me so pumped for chapter 2.
This reminds me of Rorschach’s journal in Watchmen.
At that moment, he became a person who the people of gotham wanted to run to than run from. He became Hope in the face of darkness rather than only Fear and Vengeance..
I really need a full version of this
The way they marketed this song as nihilistic and the word “vengeance” was superb. Us finding the vengeance line so cool that it became a staple of roberts batman, only for it to be the main plot twist. Then to have the song represent that very plot point, something in the way was his vengeance for his parents.
"I wish I was knew if I'm making a difference, but I don't really know."
I get the distinct impression that Kurt Cobain would've fucking loved this movie.
Are they ever gonna release THIS version of Something In The Way!?
I wonder the same.
this gave me alot of roarchache vibes in this scene
Reminded me of Rorschach in the watchmen. Batman never got a real monologue in any movie but especially in nolans trilogy. Nolans batman was bland and utilitarian. Instead of listening to the scarred but virtuous mind of batman we got shallow one liners like "the hero gotham deserves but not the one it needs", Nolans attempt at conveying that human beings have thoughts and feelings lmao
Hands down the best part of this movie is that when Bruce is entering the batcave and reviewing the footage he’s actually listening to nirvana, he turns the music down when he wants to hear the news, idk nice touch I thought lol
Perfect Batman, just wish there was bit more of your billionaire playboy Bruce side, but for this darker portrayal I’m ok with it
Loved the ending, reminds me of CW's Oliver Queen's starting intro monologue. But in a good way.
When I heard this music started playing ik I was in for a masterpiece at work 😌😎🔥💯
Not gonna lie this is the kind of speech I expect from superman.
He's not giving a speech. It's in his head.
Exactly. After he saving metropolis and flying into the sun with the speech and ending with the man of steel theme.
no i think this is a perfect example of a Batman monologue. A Superman speech is something more like a Captain America speech,a speech to inspire the people and tell them that he will always be there for them
holy i watched this movie twice it was so good
Wow I love it the Ending Of The BATMAN Was so phenomenal 10/10 start to Finish
Thank you, I’ve been waiting for this!
What a film. I came out of cinema and just said wow
My only complaint with the ending was that the fight / battle scene could’ve been longer and better but other than that it’s great
FINALLY, THANK YOU, YEAHHHHH
What a journey, what an ending!!
Goosebumps.
Cinema baby, I went in hoping for a good Batman movie but came out knowing it was a great movie in general.
pure poetry!!!
1:51 best part
Kurt Cobain was a genius, Two simple chords and a melody 🎵🎶
What a film, thinking about going to watch again or just gonna wait till they release to own
THE VIOLINS THO HEARD THIS IN THE THEATER BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS!!!
I recently watched it.....Just Unique
Best scene in Batman Movies amazing !!!
Awesome movie I really hope that there is a sequel
He takes a eletric shock fo it people, he suppose to be dead now, but he is alive, cause night always come
i hope they add this to soundtrack
Please, no jokes when I say, tell me that I'm not the only one who'd love more Nirvana in The Batman 2 and/or 3
Waiting for the beginning monologue
Aaaand right after this we get the Joker tease
Do we have an official version of this track? I'd love to see the Nirvana mashup with Batman theme from Giachinno
This music is so damn good I loved this movie not the best Batman movie ever but definitely a great film shot better than most superhero films this year
In a way this scene reminded me of the animated Dark knight returns. Spoiler. When superman eats a nuke and the emp causes riots ,when the new police commissioner looks at Batman and says she won't be doing anything to him cause he's too big.
0:52 first, we’ll rebuild the trust in each other!
Can you upload Ave Maria from the opening scene?
Exactly the thing im looking for!!!
