Hi Lucy, if you are reading this, good job on trying the IELTS test interview. I believe you can do a lot better just with a bit of confidence! Just keep practicing with people you are comfortable with. Good luck, Lucy!
Love this thanks Megga
@@valteranjosify you need to practice your English. The lucy will never read your message ❓
@@valteranjosify how is english supposed to be your mother tongue? i don’t really know about you man but your english sounds bad
@@valteranjosify I’m an english native speaker and we don’t usually use these low vocabulary and incorrect sentences
@@valteranjosify man your english seems trash ngl, you sure that a native english speaker will say ‘’ are you joke to me’’ that’s reversed present continuos you gotta add an extra ‘’ing’’ to the verb and that ‘’your don’t understand’’ it doesn’t make any sense. Can you stop making this act and those false accusations I’m using simple vocabs so you can understand what im trying to say, if you’re learning English good luck or about to pass an IELT test. Let’s end it off here im not arguing with you anymore
Thank you Lucy for agreeing to publish this and allowing so many to learn from your mistakes. A bit of practise and you will surely overcome the flaws.
Great feedback Dev
Good a lot of book lucy
Lucy don't worry my dear. I am also very low level than you. You are so great 👍 keep learning English. All the best. Master find out mistakes it was useful
It is clear that she knows English much more than she performed in this video. She could get at least 6, 6.5 or even more if she practised IELTS techniques before the exam and managed her stress. This video shows that both "Knowledge" and "Techniques" are important.
I agree! I think in this case, the problem was not just with the girl, but also with the person asking the questions, because she was just reading the questions like a robot, and maybe she blocked the tested student.
Exactly 💯
absolutely, the last line you said is correct and we should focus on both things
@@franciscomel0 The examiner is too monotone and uninterested
@@franciscomel0 Wait, it's not part of the examiner's duties be so accommodating during the exam. You take the exam because you need it, not because you want to encounter a very friendly examiner. She knew well how the exam works, so there shouldn't be any excuses.
She's not wasting time. She's just giving direct answers to the questions. Well done Lucy. You will be improve. Love from Sri Lanka. 😘😘😘
😁😁😁
A heated tip: The IELTS test is costly in China. Like the man said it's better to be well-prepared before the test or not only personal time but energy and money will lose.

Eea parceiro, estudando inglês também, né? Esse tipo de vídeo mostra que não adianta ler e entender o que as pessoas falam em inglês mas também devemos falar e praticar inglês com outras pessoas, principalmente por conta da oratória.
Here is the thing: She doesn't have any experience in Ielts However, this is totally understandable becauce it is her first time. I completely sure that after this exam, she will change her mindset and work relentlessly to achieve her goal.
Yes Tran great feedback and observation. 👍🏼
Thank you for leaving this comment. I am going to take my first IELTS exam and I’m, understandably, very scared of failing it. This really gives me the boost of confidence.
I did the IELTS for the first time a few weeks ago with no preparation at all and I didn't fail
@@lawtraf8008 how much you got then without preparation?
@@lawtraf8008 Realistically speaking, IETLS isn’t a fail or pass test. In fact, no one can fail it. It’s to show your English proficiency.
remember the IELTS doesn't test your knowledge in english, it tests your knowledge on the exam itself, once you find out this, you will study according to the test specifically.
I believe that all she needs is a little bit of practice and a boost of confidence ,keep going ! This channel is perfect as it helped me reach a band 8 on my test I’m sure that watching your videos will help her.
Amazing comment. Thanks for your compliment. And fabulous score ✅🌟
The best reasonable comment
I think Lucy has a good passive english as seen from her vocabulary and i can tell she is nervous that she uses is rather than was. She needs to get some speaking buddy and practice her active english.
Speaking practice with other people is really important.
She needs, uses*
@@theosmo thank u for the feedback >< I struggle a lot with my grammar
Her nervous caused by the examiner being like a robot, not a person with emotion!!!!!!!
@@nabillahoctarani9944she+ he+ it = verbs with “s” like uses or needs
Lucy tried. She's stronger than those who haven't tried, yet mock her in their hearts. You're the best, Lucy!
Lucy is a freaking genius! She can literally answer any question with a single word!
👉😂
I LOVE her pronunciation actually .. she needs to practise and be more confident and we're all with you lucyy .. we've all been the same at some point 👏👏
Yep! Every starts here. Small steps of improvement.
The examiner cold like an ice :/

I was surprised with Her pronunciation. I thought that it mostly scored 7 or 8. despit the fact that she made some mistakes during the test
@@moneymonkey8257 ikr, not until she stopped suddenly in part 2 did i stop doubting the scoring, but even that...well i was really expecting just some mumbling throughout the whole test for a 4.5...
Lucy, you are just an introvert. Sometimes it's just hard to express when you are nervous but you tried and made an effort to express and articulate your first IELTS speaking mock exam.
I feel like I will get a low score too next month.😢
@J 1 Glady I got 6 5 hehe,though I have a lot of pauses.
I think Lucy is an introvert as one myself we tend to give short and precise answers. Obviously she's nervous which could be because of lack of practice and interaction with others. She just need to get out of her shell , we all make mistakes so I hope she learns from experience.
Great input Ami 👍🏼🤓
Why would she need to elaborate if the examiner did not ask "why". IMO, this is not her fault, but the test/examiner's fault.
@@pjitiwong If this exam is just an exam to test ur ability and vocabulary, then maybe so. But irl, if a person just answers questions in a few words, the conversation isn’t gonna turn out well. Like would u want a friend that always answers ur questions using ‘em, ok, yes, no’ ? I doubt it. And btw, normal English conversations are quite different compared to exam ones, so don’t go thinking ur now the god of English conversations after u get that piece of paper.
@@pjitiwong What kind of person adds ‘and why?’ in daily conversation. Though I am surprised u answered this considering ur last comment was 3 months ago
@@deadkiller4129 Why doesn't the tester just ask then? It's not that difficult to just add "and why?" to the question. Why saving literally just 2 more words to potentially cause a misunderstanding? Would you yourself tell a stranger the whole life story of your dog when she just asks "Do you have a pet? What kind of pet do you have? ". If the examiner wants an elaborative answer, so why asking a yes/no question? Would it be so hard to just add "Could you tell me any story about your pet"?
Thank you Lucy for demonstrating the condition what Chinese's true reaction in IELTS oral test. It's so hard to be relaxed in such stressful examing room, however, you tried it. Everything that doesn't beat you will make you stronger! I hope you getting better day by day.

to be honest, lucy know much more about communication, she's just not familiar with ielts speaking test
Hey Chris, you are absolutely right. This video is really helpful.
Thanks Zihad. Pleasure! ✅
I believe she's going to do well next time. Sending you virtual hugs and support, Lucy!!
Thanks Yam
Lucy, you did a great job! Lucy is a non-native speaker who hails from China, where the language Mandarin Chinese is spoken across(which is one of the very difficult languages). She did relatively very well both qualitatively and statistically.
Thanks Abin for sharing your feedback. Very useful.
Great job Lucy ! You made a amazing contribution to anyone who are prepared for IELTS exam ! Also definitely sure that you will get high scores for your IETS next time!
Nice one
I praise this sweet girl for having the courage to accept to appear in a "not to do" video.
She understands well all the questions and answer simply. Good job Lucy! And keep going💯
I watched your videos and got 7.0 bands in speaking and an overall 8.0! Thank you!
Wow, congratulations Justh0nest. Excellent score.
Can you tell me your experience and some tips?
Lucy, you did well. We are supporting you. Keep encouraging, keep working. ❤️ I think, her problem is the way of expressing ( lack of expressing ).
This video is more likely to help starters of IELTS..will show them how they need to improve..Thanks to wonderful teacher[Chris] who always acts as a good director. Watching videos on this channel is more of relaxation for me. Really really worth watching.
So kind Rohit. Really appreciate your kind words. Thanks 😊😊👍🏼

I just wanna tell Lucy. Keep it up. You can be better than before. By the way, thank you for sharing this mock test with us,Chris.
Yes. She comes back and does a much better job. Thanks for your positive comment 👍🏼✅
Hello...I have seen this mock test. that is good you
I would just like to wish Lucy well, and hope she does not get discouraged at all. I gave the Academic IELTS very recently, for the first time - results awaited, currently - and though English isn't my native language, I have a strong background in it (my degree was in English Literature, and English was the medium of instruction in most educational institutions I've been in thus far). Having said that, I was still surprised at how much I had to study the test (rather than study for it). Even during prep, I found myself wondering about how difficult it'd all be if I didn't have the aforementioned background. So, Lucy please don't get demotivated. Keep going!
What a wonderful, positive comment! 🌟✅
hey ! i am planning to take this exam,, is there a way i could connect with you for my preparation 🥺 would you be willing to help ? thanks (:
Could you please talk about your band score?
@@Human-xe1h Hey! I ended up getting a band 8.5.
@@chetan8454 wow, great 👍 congratulations 👏
personally ive always been taught when learning forgein languages (as a native english speaker) that as long as the other person can understand generally what you are saying then its a reasonable degree of fluency. i think Lucy will be really great at english now that she understand kind of how it works and she will study really hard! i also dont really like the term lack of comprehension. idk but i always feel kind of bad about myself when someone says that too me so i think we should say things like didnt quite understand correctly. it encourages people that they can get it but they just need to practice more
Thank you, Chris, for these amazing materials! Thanks to you and your team, I had the chance to expand my English skills and to have great IELTS results. Because I couldn't afford to have a private tutor, I have strictly followed your guidelines and I made it! Hopefully, every follower will wisely use all these videos as they have only one purpose: to help you understand and succeed in the IELTS exam. I cannot recommend this channel more!
Hi Emma. We're so pleased that you've managed to get your desired score. Big pat on the back to you! Thanks for your positivity and really best wishes for the future
Hi Chris, this is a very good one, to be honest. We're all used to seeing the best students of your academy performing with high scores in a mocking test of this kind, showcasing their language level (which in some cases it's very close to that of a native speaker) and many of us don't really know what to do or what shouldn't be done in the exam. Even though I'm aware of some of the mistakes that I should avoid in the exam, the truth is that I'm still uncertain to what point do I have to expand in the responses and how the band levels are related to the quality of my speaking abilities.
Hello Vasco, we're happy that you found this new mock exam video more relatable.
When Lucy said "Thank you" and it looked more like "sank you", I could understand her because in my country (Brazil) our lengague (portuguese) doesn't have the sound "Th" and i struggled to learn to speak words with TH
Interesting thanks for sharing your experience.
Same with Russian
funny and educational at the same time. She did great job though. Had some insights how I might look like when I'm uncomfortable and nervous during an interview.
I have learned so much with those videos, thanks you, Chris
Wonderful. Thanks for watching
bruh, in real life, i would answer those questions the way lucy did too, it's almost all yes or no question, maybe try some open ended question like " what's your opinion on..." instead of " do you..."
Honestly..
Thank you Lucy i have learned so many things from your mistakes. I think you will get band 9 from speaking when you practise more with people. And also this channel is so helpful, i love it.
Thanks Dilmurod for the kind words
Thank you Lucy for trying your best! I'd like to see her development as a speaker! :)

Lucy thank u so much for allowing them to film u and publish it online I hope ur doing great now and happy and because of you im learning more and more thank u so much❤️👏👏
Great comment :)
Your videos have been really useful for me. I have been watching those during the last few weeks before my IELTS exam and eventually got 7.5 in terms of speaking. Thank you so much!
Wow wow! So amazing - well done on your excellent score! :)
Thanks for this video, Chris! It reminds me of 5 years ago.
Step by step
I'm so proud of you, you did a great job! I hope that you are even better than before and will go through it again. I wish you good luck!)❤🎉
Lovely comment. Check her second video.
Good job Lucy! Well done. I’m pretty sure she learned a lot.
Chris, your explanation is superb... Lot's of love. And yeah, keep growing...
Thanks Steffi. Lucy did a great job for her first attempt..
Thank you so much for sharing this video. I know sometimes nervous make us feel bad and we can forget everything. I think Lucy knows, but she needs to boost her confidence and practice more. This is a valuable video as I have my exam in three weeks, thank so much 🤗
You're right. At times nerves get the best of students while taking the speaking test. Good luck in your exam.
Lucy did her best. Honestly I'm also not a native English speaker plus I'm an introvert and these types of interviews will make me very nervous and when I'm nervous I don't understand the questions even if it's in my first language! So I appreciate Lucy so much she did her best I'd never think of taking this interview cause I fear that everyone will mock me for my English but lucy was so courageous and for a first timer she did her best but she got nervous at the end but common we are all human when we are nervous we all also make mistakes. I hope she will become more confident with herself and improve more, all the best Lucy!
I'm a new comer here and I just wanna say that your video helps me a lot to improve my speaking skill.
Thanks Thuong ✅🌟👍🏼
Good comment about giving elaborated answers. In many cultures people are taught to give short and direct answers to short and direct questions. And it wouldn't occur to them that you expect elaborated answers.
It's a challenge faced by many people. Just got to be an actor on the day!
Thanks Lucy, i haven't taken any class so your performance helps me a lot. Hope you will prepare carefully for your next test.
So nice. Thanks for sharing.
Lucy, dont problems, You speak better than many I know who say they speak English. The nerves betrayed you a bit and I understand why sometimes I forget words and I look in my mind for another word to quickly replace it and it will depend on how long it takes to look for another word. You have to keep practicing there is no other way.
I wish in my ilets speaking test I got you as a teacher to evaluate my speaking. in my real test I answered all the answer with some details but I scored 5.5 in speaking. After watching this video I must say in our real exam we really need evaluator like you in some country. I was quite confident that I would get at lest 6.5 when I watched your mock videos.
My speaking performance was so bad but I scored 6.5. I don't think you were as good as you think if you scored 5.5

I noticed a few of the same questions I got when I took my IELTS speaking test😂. If you have little time to prepare for the speaking test, just watch these type of videos before the exam because that worked for me.
Great feedback Nathanael! Hope you got your desired score :)

I understand the situation with Lucy. She spoke like this because she was either nervous or felt a lack of confidence. Well done Lucy for your hard work and trying your best!
Lucy is answering like a celebrity on Vogue!
Hey Chris, my name's Seeyam and I'm from Bangladesh. I want to start by saying thankyou so much for these wonderful videos and to all the practice candidates. Recently I took my IELTS examination (probably on the 17th) and got my results on the 23rd. Yes yes I know I should've told you sooner, however the good news is that I received 8.5 in speaking. It should be noted that English isn't my primary language so my confidence in speaking is a bit shaky. Above all, your videos really aided for the test and for that I am grateful. Lastly keep up the good work and have a wonderful day. Thankyou c: bye and take care
Seeyam, what incredible news! You should be so proud of yourself on this amazing score. Great work and many congratulations.
8.5 is great. Share about how you have practiced? Any coaching center or at home? what was your study materials?
I loved this video. Lucy's experience has taught me a lot of things and has been helping in the quality of my communication ever since. I hope Lucy is much better right now than before. Moreover, the examiner was too kind too.
Thanks for your kind words. Glad you found it helpful. Please watch Lucy's second video and interview
We are always grateful for you Chris
So kind as always. Thanks Hasan
Great video, after watching it I think what Lucy needs is more practice to improve her speaking level, I used to be about the same level as her, but I often watch videos on this channel, my speaking quickly improved to 6.5 , come on Lucy!

Great score Wallflower. Good job.
Lucy is so cute, I love her bangs btw💞 she was hella nervous during this exam, poor girl! I hope the next time everything will end up the best way to her
Watch her second video 😁
This is a great video to explore possibilities. I'm sure Lucy will get the score she needs with training and practice. Another mistake Mai did, was that she didn't ask for the pen and piece of paper. In another video, she encouraged a candidate to continue talking in part 2. I suggest that she don't move or say anything until the time of part 2 is over.
Great input
There's no doubt that she was not familiar on the test. I have a lot of Chinese students but they don't answer in this way. She's smart, I believe she can perform better next time~

Awesome!
Hi sir, this is the second time I watch your video. I have to say your work make huge benefit to pupil who want to know what IELTS speaking look like. Actually, at the first I watched a band 8.5 Chinese student's practice which is so awesome. Then I find this low band video for comparing what is different between them. However, just the first part, I could understand thoroughly. As an ability exam, you should express what you have instead of hiding what you know. But at the same time, I have another question: if I talk just fluently (some trivial grammar mistake could not avoid) but without use the advance vocabulary, which band will I have ? Sorry, for the ambiguous answer :D
Well this is an interesting channel I've come across, wish I knew about it during my exams.. A shame really but anyhow keep your work up.. Other people will find it really helpful.
Thanks so much Juan. Really appreciate your kind words.
