Taiwo Awoniyi has made a flying start at Union Berlin. The Nigerian striker is Union’s number one man for goals, already bagging three this season. And the 24-year-old's two important strikes in the UEFA Europa Conference League play-offs secured progress to the group stage almost single-handedly. Reason enough for us to take a closer look at the striker and his eventful career to date. What do you like most about Awoniyi? Let us know in the comments.

Found his football home... and he's ready to go! 🙌 ❤️
Shame it didn't work out at Liverpool. Work permits are a pain in the arse.
This is the guy who i was always confused about seeing him liverpools reserves on fifa
EYY A FELLOW AOT FAN, SUP HOMIE
@@arfanhafiz6170 WASSUP HOMIE U GASSED FOR PART 2
I love this bro. I've bn a fan since u-17 world Cup 💚
I remember him said, his father wanted him to be a lawyer forcefully... story of an average boy who aspire to be a footballer in Nigeria, parents would always be against it
I love this guy, watch his game every weekend for union Berlin more grace.
We are glad to finally see our U-17 boys doing well. For many years we couldn't understand why so many of them struggled. It very well could be the MRI intervention. Contrary to popular belief, Nigerian talent nowadays are actually YOUNGER than their European counterparts. It used to be that they were older, but now the reverse is true. After MRI, Nigeria started fielding players that were even younger. So players like Iheanacho, Osimhen, Awoniyi are genuinely young. Perhaps this means that even when they go into the wilderness, such as Osimhen and Awoniyi, their youth gives them more legitimate time to develop. Whereas in the past, the U-17 players we fielded were probably not genuinely young. I think there is also probably a golden generation in the making for Nigeria, where I think the success of one player might be inspiring the others. Osimhen may be inspiring Awoniyi to excel for example. Of course the most obvious connection, is that they were scouted in similar form by Manu Garba. There is probably even a greater interest for scouts to identify Nigerian talent, now that our players are legitimately young. It is also possible that Nigeria's greatest strikers will come from this bunch. While we did have talented strikers in the past like Obafemi Martins, they seemed to peak unusually at the U-23 level, whereas I think for the first time in a long time, we will have players that will peak at the right time. Awoniyi, Osimhen, Said Umar, Iheanacho etc. are far from perfect, but they still have many years of legitimate growth.
Admin knows ball 🔥. Awoniyi is such a baller
😉 Exactly
Welcome to NFFC.
I have to include him in my Fantasy Bundesliga team ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Really great to see young players growing

Yeah
I pray he does good in the African cup of nations
Nigeria's next superstar striker 🇳🇬
@@bundesliga yes
Our coach Rohr is too conservative, he might not take us to the next level that we require. He reminds me more of a politician than a gaffer. He makes excuses rather than embraces challenges.
So happy he’s found success. I speak for all Liverpool fans when I say I’m over the moon for him and wish him nothing but consistency in his play. #Ynwa
Just a shame he hasn't played for Nigeria more, we love him
Once red 🔴and red yet again #ynwa
I never know that Taiwo have gone this far. Kudos bro.
Good luck Awoniyi. YNWA
Okay, where's the story of the GOAT, Adminho? We indeed need a montage of his own goals....
That story is a tragedy 😅
@@bundesliga for the other teams?

His technique is abysmal

“FC Liverpool” is just wrong.
Welcome back to Super Eagles Mr. Awoniyi

What do I likr about him? I like that he is having a medical at Nottingham Forest today.
What I like about Him is that He does not celebrate until He confirms that the ball has crossed the line and Net is shaking...

The German commentator really tried in the pronunciation of taiwo awoniyi
Won't be too long until Bayern sign him

Whatever happened to Anthony Ujah? He left Norway for Germany and faded out of existence. Not even a Champions League highlight.
He did very well for a couple of seasons at Mainz, Bremen then faded, he is still at Union Berlin but Awoniyi is the Main Guy at Union Berlin.
@@ugochukwumunachisoiwunze2597 I don't think he ever did as well as he did for us in Norway. He flopped right after leaving. He should have stayed a season longer, to move to EPL. But now his name isn't even heard anymore, and he got old. Promising future, but wasted career. Sad.
@@oslonorway547 The best Nigerian prospect of fairly recent history in Germany before Awoniyi was Chinedu Obasi (who also played in Norway), who faded due to injury. Ujah was never considered in too high a regard in our circles, though at one point in time, very briefly, all eyes were on him. Obasi is the one that we regret. I don't know why Ujah faded, but Nigeria has lost some key talents due to injury. Amunike, Obasi, Amokachi etc.
@@TopeA8 Well, Mikel Obi was here too. Different outcome.
Rissing star,
🌟
Bayern will pick him up next season
Only robert lewandowski has a more gols
Too bad he just cant play with liverpool becausr of visa. It is normal that visa issue cant be solved for few years?
The transfer to Union Berlin is now permanent. He can play in Liverpool if they want him, I don't think he has work permit issues anymore. But I believe he no longer has wishes to play for Liverpool, he seems to be "over it". But who knows.
