Glazed terracotta patterns on the Minecraft wiki: minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Tut...
I could never have guessed that symmetry could be so complex
Group Theory be like
If you think that's complex maybe you should take a look at supersymmetry. But I'm warning you to be careful while doing so, because your head might explode...
@@ToriKo_ came here for this
After my inorganic chemistry classes I decided symmetry was created by the devil
On the contrary once he finished explaining by 2:30 I got it. It's just counting geometrical reflections, which is just pattern recognition.
I found your channel by being recommended Part 1 of this series, I then proceeded to watch your permaculture series, the one lever video and the one about animals walking up hills/into caves, very good content. The encoding items series gave me a headache, but it's explained well. Love the dry delivery and that you explain your thought process so well.
and I am most glad to have received it
I find it really entertaining that the episode name has x out of y while x counts upwards and y is a random number. Keep it up.
You said "I wish i could split blocks down the middle, would make visualization much easier", and you reminded me that the Chisel&Bits mod exists, so you have that!
8:47 I appreciate the way you've formatted this video, the key need was to deliver something significantly cool to drive the math home, and your fave *442 unveiling blows me away, I've never seen that done with black-glazed-terra.
"Obviously, I can't like, slice a block right down the middle" Chisels and Bits mod: Allow me to introduce myself.
Blocks are 16x16, so you can't split it evenly still
@@ElisAridyes you can
you give me the same vibes that SethBling did 10 years ago. definitely one of my new fav channels
I love it when a KZheadr inspires me to look at something I’ve taken for granted in a _completely_ different way
I'm not a builder/decorative type in Minecraft, so idk why this ended up in my feed, but the technical details are still interesting to hear about. Imma forward this to someone I often play with who _is_ the builder/decorative type, see what she thinks of it.
So happy to know that you can make beautiful floors systematically.
congrats on getting a shoutout from @CraftyMasterman! btw your channel is really cool
thanks. lemme know how you like it
really awesome, almost directly calls to mind space groups in crystallography
This is some of the most fun Minecraft content I have watched in a while. I hope you keep up the great work!
I wanna see the floor design at 11:18 be done in survival! honestly i really wanna do it lol
2:07 Unit Cell, recall from taking crystallography in college.
KZhead recommended me this and I was so confused during the entire video. Very detailed, good job.
Aaand, off to make an encoded FP with multiple bots for terracotta rotations....
oh I'm on part 2 instead of 1 that's why it feels like I was just dropped into another universe
I like your funny words magic man
"It's really quite simple. I'm chuffed to bits." Edit: typo

This is so interesting!!! pls realease the 3d of the series :) looking forward to it!
3rd one is done :-] goes up a day from now
Pretty.
Good god this just reminded me of Group Theory from Physical Chemistry.... good god I tried to forget that class... blech
now I wanna play minecraft
5:40 A tech mod called "Yttr" has an item called the "void cleaver" that can do exactly that if you need it
7:56 4 here right?
Just 2 lines of reflective symmetry: up and down, and left to right. The diagonal lines are not reflective here because they would swap two *different* glazed terracotta patterns :-]
Are you using a mod to help place these reflections and rotations quickly or are you placing every block 1 by 1?
Do a shot every time he says the word symmetry
will consider
You have to be one of the best creative Minecrafters. You are extremely skilled in building, game mechanics and redstone. Well don’t for all the work you put into this :)
Now do a Penrose pattern in Minecraft.
I have absolutely no reason to watch this video, but It's so interesting
The beehives I think are not symmetric and if they are four of them contain 4 lines of symmetry
The yellow example is actually 444 symmetric, not 442
Great. And now... You show how much twisting and turning you have to do in order to make your favorite pattern, Lol.
Isn't the bee nest pattern 4 4 4?
PSA: do not when high
What shader are you using?
Complementary with the Iris mod
Its time to stop just using diamond blocks as my only building block
nerdcraft unite
This is just a nerdy as phoenixsc but less unhinged
Get into programming and leave minecraft bro, this stuff is cool but at the end of the day pretty sad.
Breaking news: people aren't allowed to have fun anymore
