Pokemon Sun and Moon and Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon introduced us to the Alola region, a place that is very unique compared to all other regions before it. As such, the Alola games introduced a lot of new features, and have lots of cool facts to share that you probably don't know about, which is exactly what we're covering in this video!

That's one of the dumbest things I noticed about him. He rebelled against her by working for her. And you cant even excuse that he didnt know cause I'm pretty sure he was the one who told us Skull was under Lusamines command

@Clockworks1441 Not really, Gladion most likely joined up with Team Skull before they started working for Lusamine, which they only did because Guzma fell for her. Not much he could do about something like that except run away again, which he refuses to despite everybody chastising him over it. Its actually one of the good things about him. He also acts as an inside man against the villains, which is a first for a rival. He's basically the polar opposite of Silver while keeping the attitude.
You forgot the fact that Gladion has a gambling addiction, hinted by his theme starting with part of the Gen II Game Corner theme
The Gladdion theme fact was so interesting. It’s actually super cool too, and kinda feels like it adds to his character
It's been widely known since the games were realeased in 2016. Actually I don't like his theme because everytime I listen to the "Runaway/Fugitives" from Mystery Dungeon Red/Blue rescue team, everybody is commetning like "Oh! It's Gladions theme!" No....Mystery Dungeon have been existing way before Gladion even was a character. As a Myastery Dungeon fan, I get a little upset about those comments. 🤣

I'm pretty sure the Gladion theme is based on "Run away, fugitives" from PMD. This is a very sad track regarding the plot when the main characters are running away from their home regarding they are fugitives now. And this fits very well with Gladion, because he is a runaway boy from his home, and I'm pretty sure Lusamine did try to send some people to try to find her children back, as if he were a fugitive.
Alola is one of my favorites. I’m literally playing it for the first time in 3 years right now. But for nostalgia, Kalos is my second favorite.

Decidueye is the first and so far only Ghost type Starter Pokémon
Decidueye was the first Pokémon I got to Level 100. And it was a female named Natalie.

Such an underrated Gen, only problem was the ruining of Lillie's story in USUM. Everything else is subjective besides the cutscenes that are littered throughout and probably the Festival Plaza feature

@@Sapphic_Schedule Basically the whole story was how Lillie was abused by her mom Lusamine with the clothing she had to wear. They sorta took that away in Ultra by shifting Lusamine from a villian into the good person so we lose the moment where Lillie stands up to her mom

Wow, Nintendo did an excellent job disguising and remixing that theme into Gladion’s theme! I kinda wish you had talked about the small amount of pidgin some of the character speak, especially in USUM but that’s okay, I love learning about music facts! And yes that’s how you spell it, pidgin is the language lots of locals and Kama’aina speak especially when hanging out with others who speak it. Grandmas and grandpas often speak it to, I’ve never heard my grandma speak proper English at all in all my years of knowing her, same with my dad.

The thing about the player characters’ names was interesting. I like Ray and Ailey. I’m surprised that “Apollo” and “Artemis” weren’t used as official names!

Festival plaza is extremely unique

Ultra Sun and Moon were better because of the more expanded map, a better post game (the one in Sun and Moon was pathetic, and any reference to the “Mega timeline“ is just awful, for the timelines are an original timeline, a remake timeline, and one for Let’s go Pikachu and Eevee (what Zinnia said in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire was simply saying that Hoenn didn’t get involved with Kalos in the original timeline while Hoenn did in the remake timeline while giving its outdated technology to Kanto for FireRed and LeafGreen), and nothing is going to convince me otherwise, and I’m glad that enhanced versions replace the old ones in the canon), better Elite Four (having Hala there just makes me want to have all four Kahunas as the Elite Four), and had better things to do than the Battle Tree (which is also a failure in story and is definitely going to be non-canonical since while Red, Blue, Cynthia, and the others could just get the Mega Stones after their adventures, it’s Wally that’s the problem, as he should have been the same age as Red (I won’t argue about Gallade)).

Alola is the the current most different pokemon region.
I mean Galar also is very different to other regions.

Alola was my favorite generation and region. It also brought with it the most impressive new feature in Pokémon: Character idle animations.

Wow, I never got to play the original mystery dungeon, so the fact that one of its tracks was used in the main games was very fun to learn!
I think the "Boss battle theme" song might have been an early draft for ultra necrosma's theme

I have good memories of Alola and Gen 7 as a whole. It was the first generation I was there to witness being created (as a pokemon fan, at least.) Good times.

Oh snap, the Gladion fact blew my mind. As did the fact about the player characters' names, for some reason I'm really fascinated about what these self-insert characters' "real" names are in the eyes of the devs lol. Also I genuinely love the Alola games. Lillie and Gladion are some of my favorite characters in the franchise.

People hated the Festival Plaza!? That's a shame. It's one of my favorite multiplayer themed areas.
As a location/feature it's kinda neat. But having all multiplayer functionality routed through it felt clunky and like a step backwards after gen 6 had everything right at your fingertips no matter where you were in the game
I never liked it myself. Found it very clunky and hated how it pulled you away from the story for a while. But I guess if you actually understood it or had friends to play with, it might’ve been pretty fun. LOL
I don't often used the GTS or the Battle feature in the Festival Plaza mostly because I didn't have WiFi at the time. I instead spend time going leveling up my Pokémon in the cafés, winning big nuggets in the lottery corner,buying items in shops and playing the Festival Plaza 3 person battles which was challengingly fun.
one if my favorite things about sun and moon. is that Lima is left handed. and you can get the left handed battle style from him. pretty good for us left handed people who are tired of every game character always being right handed
And here I am just sitting here and wondering how anybody would notice that-
because iam left handed. andi noticed that Lima has what looks like a bow guard glove on his hand. wich goes on the hand you use to pull back the bow string.

I didnt like the festive plaza at first but it grew on me. # love the mini games.
I heard Leon was supposedly to be the Champion of Alola. In my head canon, he is. Alola is a territory of Galar. Since it’s one league per region, and since Alola wanted a league of its own, Leon found a tiny tiny loophole. He shifted Galar’s minor league to Alola. The winner of the Alola league has the chance to go to Galar to compete in the main league. Thus far, only two Alolan league winners have managed to make it all the way to Leon. The first one managed to take out three of Leon’s team while the second managed to get down to Charizard. Leon managed to just barely claim victory. He won in the end thanks to the opponent Pokémon having the burn status condition.
Whoever thought of being able to play with Pokémon is my favorite dev of all pokemon games

I don't really get why people hated the festival plaza if all they wanted to do were online battles & trades. It takes at least 2 minutes to get past the tutorial if you spam straight through it.

On the subject of Blue Rescue Team, someone actually told me that they think that Blue Rescue is Gen 4 JUST BECAUSE it's on the DS, but we all know that Gen 4 came out AFTER any and all Gen 3 spinoffs were done
Gen 7 is personally one of my favorite generations in Pokémon. The regional variants of Pokémon are amazing, the trials which is a challenge,the story with Lillie,Gladion and Lusamine(my favorite waifu), the ride Pokémon which helps not having HM's in the game and I know peoples take on the Festival Plaza don't like it that much but for me I don't mind it that much.
Gladion's battle theme also sounds like the bike theme from X and Y

I played Sun since day 1 and Ultra Sun since day 1 and only dropping Ultra Sun when Sword came out... (I skipped LGPE) and I never noticed the background color differences during egg hatching and I never noticed the different evolution theme. Damn.
One of my big wishes for the pomemon franchise is something like a more serious take on the pokemon world. I feel like places like Alola and kilos have so many interesting stories to tell but they wouldn't really fit into the main plots of the Ash anime, like Gladion's experience shortly after leaving home and starting a new life with team skull. I get that this probably won't happen, but i think it would be pretty cool to expand more on the smaller characters in the games that could make for interesting stories.

Fun fact: When Solgaleo/Lunala is fighting Necrozma in USUM, they are represented by blue/orange and black lights respectivley. I do not know why they did this but I guess it is because they where to lazy.
I knew fact 1. I think it's a reference to Pokemon Green and JP Pokemon Blue (2nd and 3rd versions in Japan in contrast to the International Blue and Yellow)
People don’t realise that the Kalos and Alola legendaries make up the colours of the rainbow (code name for SuMo) and that Zygarde was supposed to counter Necrozma. They only explore this concept in the TCG and the manga, sadly.
also gen 9 should have a pokerider that works with your own pokemon, like you could fly on charazard, OR the bird pokemon in the region, or a dragonite, or something new, you could surf on a lapras, OR your water starter, or the new water type, and so on.... so you could feel like you have more pokemon on your team of six..

I love SM/USUM. I can't decide which I like more, Gen 5 or 7.

@@segunthepikachufan1470 Yeah, I agree. Overall I think Gen 5 is a better game but I love the pure charm that Gen 7 oozes in its art style and characters. They both have amazing stories.

I have mixed feelings about gen 6 and 7... but one thing is for sure: I definitively like them much more than the switch games.

I might be the only person who likes Festival Plaza lol I liked the little challenges ("go find all the people who speak Chinese!") and upgrading my rank. Not much of an online battler or trader personally, so that might be why, I just wasn't focusing on that aspect lol. But I definitely get why others dislike it and that's valid too!

The Join Avenue was received well!? The Plaza isn't BAD anyway. Just felt like it could have been implemented into the game more naturally. I find it weird people would say that hate that but like Contests/Pokealthon.
The Join Avenue was a pretty fun out of the way place to get items and stuff that wasn't convoluted. In Festival Plaza you have to go into a separate menu and connect

Flying isn't that hard, almost everyone will keep a flyer on their team. And the internet connection wasn't locked behind the Join Avenue, it's basically the opposite, you use the internet to enhance and make your Join Avenue bigger and better. Also, you can do a lot of things in the join avenue, lots of things you can only purchase in there, so it is worth spending time in the join Avenue.

I hate how the ultra beast are introduced. they created a multi verse world and dimensions yet still make it feel so small and thrown away. Also why do they only appear in that region? Like look at ethernias in sword and shield, it looks pretty ultra beast like. It would have been a neat tie together if it was

I never liked the elite 4 battle theme in gen 7 it's one of my most hated music in all of pokemon and I love all pokemon music (except gen 7 elite 4 theme) why couldn't we get that boss battle music instead it's so much better
