Cowboy cook Kent Rollins

Cowboy cooking is art too, right? Kent Rollins has over a million fans for his twice-weekly cowboy cooking demos shot at his farm in Hollis, Oklahoma. He explains to Gallery America's Robert Reid how he learned to cook so well, and how things have changed over the years, AND what he thinks all of Oklahoma should be cooking in their backyards while we're sticking at home more. (You might be surprised what he glazes into a Thanksgiving-worthy feast.)

  • Yup, cooking for Mr Rogers! Good choice, Kent. Cannot count how many homemade sugar cookies he and Mrs Rogers passed out to neighborhood kids that came knocking at his door. A true man of God and family. My heart hurts every time I pass The Crooked House on Madaket knowing Mr Rogers is not at home any more…✝️

  • I am intrigued with Kent's choices for dinner guests. They are both from Central Pennsylvania. I have lived in Oklahoma and loved it. I now live in central PA and love it. I think that the people make the place worth living in and I think that both areas have the same type of people, so it makes sense tht he chooses these two.

  • BS, I have his book and he uses frozen, canned, refiged ingredients that would never last on a roundup, trail ride or any other activity outdoors. Unless you have an electric fridge & freezer along ! I was very disappointed with his recipees. Book is a waste of money !
