  • There's also the double bluff, which Sukamuljo often favours when defending on the right hand side of the court , where he shapes up to do the cross court shot but flicks his wrist at the last minute to send the shuttle straight and sending both opponents to cover the cross court shot, forcing them to play a late backhand.

  • Gotta say. Big fan of your videos. 🙂👋 I'm older sort of the amateur players maybe here but played tennis and golf as well and probly some other paddle/racket games, can't recall even. What I always seem to do when I check your excellent videos through is that I rather look at them like "how's that move the guys are doing?". Sort of mimicing the feel and the idea (like a kid even I am at my 40's) instead of the explanation maybe so much. This idea of mimicry make sense to you as a way of learning a technique? Younger me used to sort of "read the manual-type" and the older me is more like chiill "nah. lets look at how that works a bit and replicate it"... 🙂

  • Probably my favorite defense, I love using it. One thing I'd say though, is that a lot of double and mixed players don't defend well against this defense. They often get passed diagonally when it's their role to intercept and save the attacker behind them and they don't. Would be interesting!

  • Hey guys love the vids. I have a tough questions on ruling. Is it a fault if you let go of your racket when reaching into a shot to play the shuttle? Almost like you’re throwing your racket just a little bit to try and reach the shot. I’ve done this a few times in play and miraculously made a perfect drop just over the net and some of the players tell me that’s not legal, are they correct?

    @MrDoordude125@MrDoordude1253 ай бұрын
    • It’s definitely not a fault no (unless your racket hits the net!) but it’s very hard to do so congrats! Maybe it’s not a good idea to do regularly though in case they get your shot back!! Haha

      @BadmintonInsight@BadmintonInsight3 ай бұрын
    • @@BadmintonInsight For sure not trying to do it, it’s purely desperation when coming forward on a tight drop from the back sometimes when I reach if I put all I have into trying to get it I reach so far I just barely let go and the odd time it goes over

  • Hi, i have a question about my badminton string, so i have a lining windstorm 74, and i just got a nee string which is the RS super micro 1500, which has 0.68 mm thickness, my question is, is a 0.68 mm string a good string for a single player? Because i usually play with more offence and defence so i need a lot of repulsion power

    @user-ki7su3sq3s@user-ki7su3sq3s2 ай бұрын
    • I think 0.68mm is fairly standard. You could also consider thinner strings (at the expense of durability) for more repulsion power, but only if you feel that you need it; I am using 0.68mm myself as well.

  • can you do a update video on how to choose the right string + right string tension since i am an intermediate player and i get judged for using a BG 66 Force with a 29lbs for main string and 32 lbs for cross strings. the guy who string my rackets always judge me for my racket tension and the choice of racket😅 am i doing something wrong? i have been playing for over 2 year and i have only recently change my choice of string and string tension 4 months ago😊

    @tr0lliee@tr0lliee3 ай бұрын
    • When you say "judge" do you mean you're criticised? If so, is that criticism positive, constructive and helpful? Those string tensions do seem rather high for an intermediate player - do you get breakages often, and can you control your shots well?

      @stevemawer848@stevemawer8482 ай бұрын
    • @@stevemawer848 yeah i am criticised and for me i feel like is probably unhelpful as they say "look at this LCW wannabe" etc i am pretty sure it's very high for an intermediate player but i am talkin about that on the main racket aka not my training racket, my training racket tension is around 26 main and 29 cross, i usually like my shuttle going as it hits the string and yes i can control all of my shot except for the net, when i play net sometime the shuttles don't go over the net and instead just spins and doesn't go foward. Is probably my hand issue but am not sure.

    • Do you mean string tension (if you mean racquet weight they're both very heavy!)? It all depends on the player - some like higher tensions than others, and they behave differently to suit the player's style. 22 seems a little low but 30 seems high, unless you're a professional player.
