Shout out to Michael Alberto for helping me edit!
Devin Hester is the greatest return man ever. He was dominant in college, and found a way to have the same type of success in the pro's. He is one of my favorite players ever, and it is about time he got his own video.

To hear "Im proud of you" from the person you've always looked up to is the most power feeling in the world. I got emotional just hearing it.
I think it speaks volumes about both of those guys. They both really seem genuine and like great people
Yes it is
Yes that was cool indeed.
I didn’t tear up not one bit, damn onions
Yep, made me tear up. Both of them are stand up guys. I met Hester once. He was a cool dude. His son is pretty ballin too. Hopefully, he goes to Miami and the NFL someday too
The first man to have 100 Speed on Madden. A true beast.
PotOfDuality I think he might be the only
PotOfDuality 💯
Cloneme12 naa they gave Deshawn Jackson 102 for some reason
It was awesome. But I made the mistake of reducing it... Then I wanted to reset it and it only went back to 99!
Scott Eckart all of us did but we didn’t save it
They should literally put this man in the Hall of Fame for this alone... Greatest return man ever.
MA'AT SUN CHILD true
MAN DO YOU REALISE You have to wait 5 years after you quit your career to get into the HALL OF FAME.
@@YEGGS_1 yea that shit bullshit bruh, but it helps tho just incase u decide to come back and play... like Jordan did
Greatest to ever do it period no question Devin fucking Hester
Same case with Matthew Slater
It wasn't all roses for Devin Hester. Throughout his career, no one ever bought Devin Hester a gift... Because he'd just return it!

There are two things you don't do; eat gas station sushi, and kick the ball to Devin Hester
I will agree
You may as well kick it out of bounds and except the 40 yard line to
👌
Three: say that anyone besides Peyton Manning is the GOAT is also a no no

For real
Very well put together mini doc. Devin Hester should be in the H.O.F.
He's going to be in the HOF!!!!!!!bitch LMAO
He will be.
@@andirandolph8830 I wouldn't be so sure. IF he does make it though it most likely won't be as a 1st ballot. Brian Mitchell is still waiting to get in and except for total touchdowns his return stats are better than Hester's by a significant margin. Then there is the fact that the HOF just doesn't like to induct special teams guys and that's all that Hester was really good at. Drafted as a CB but couldn't cover for crap. Use as a WR but his routes were garbage. I'm a Bear's fan and even I think Mitchell should make the HOF before Hester.
@@markf.4063 I respect your opinion and I agree that Mitchell should be in the Hall. But, I believe Hester will get there eventually.
His balls are.
Thats some serious respect from Primetime... Wow
I can’t be the only one who’s emotional after the talk with Deion and both of them were just there holding back their tears
I got a new respect for Deion after that. I had always thought of him as a giant ego. He really cared about Hester.
Nali Hawez I was 😭
I was about to cry. .then I remembered they get paid millions to play a game and there are real people with real problems worth crying for in this world.
@@alex042687 why not cry for both of them? Does your cries discriminate on wealth? Sorry if I phrased it harshly I feel your point and respect that a lot. It's true that there are way more important things. But if you can cry on both of the situations wouldn't it be better? I don't see why you have to relate only on one side or the other in this case. If you can why not relate to both?
Brought a tear to my eye.. Us American males don't share moments like that much.... Shit would be a lot chiller on the streets if more people shared props like that...
IF he doesn't get into the Hall of Fame, it'll be a travesty. He could have done nothing else besides returns, and still made it. He singlehandedly changed the game, and made it so every punter had to learn new tricks to avoid monsters like him. Most exciting player I've ever watched
Hester, Primetime & Donte Hall are probably the top return guys if all time. Reggie Bush, Ted Ginn & Sproles are also on my list to great special teams return guys.
Hall of fake Hayes guys like him and Tasker
He was good....but...if Hester is the most exciting player youve ever seen....you havent been watching football very long bc thats ridiculous
For the opposite reason, Sam Koch should also be a Hall of Famer. He was the first punter to adapt to the dangerous returnmen such as Hester by developing incredibly nasty spins on the ball by kicking it at different places with different angles at different amounts of energy.
It's not if he will get into the HOF (he will no doubt), the question is will he be a first ballot HOF?
"People don't know this but I actually taught Devin Hester all his moves and his agility". -TK Kirkland
Devin Collins watchin those vlad interviews huh lol

He needs to be.
Go Bears!
He made the NFL 100 roster so more than likely
Go bears!
Boo bears (I'm a packer fan) but devin hester is an amazing player
KTO I have a great story for you about Devin Hester. He was at an autograph signing at a sports store in Naperville IL. This high school track star was talk all sorts of crap to get Hester to race him outside. Hester who was all dressed up finally had enough. He had a store employee grab a tape measure and measure out 40 yards. Hester lined up against this kid and when they said go the kid took off and Hester counted to three and then started running he beat the kid wearing dress shoes it was one of the greatest things I have ever seen. Love the videos keep them going. Steve Humenik
steve humenik devin hater was very fast
40 yard tape measure lmao
Ronsingsandpullsup Hahahah that’s not even what he said lmao yo ass can’t read 💀💀
Was this at Dean's dugout? I'm from Naperville and I think I remember him coming there once
Sounds like one of my old uncles at the family BBQ in his dress, except for the speed part.
As a bears fan, it hurts to see him break the record in an Atlanta jersey
Blair Gibson as a bears fan you should not be surprised 2 see anyone one with grade a talent leave and do good in other places lol
Kandii Goon I know but he fact that he’s known as a Chicago bear and that is where he built his legacy it is sad to see him get th record in another jersey
Well just know this: If he makes the HOF, he will be in as a Bear. 100%
same
As a packer fan, it hurts to see all these bears fans
Devin Hester is like the Dennis Rodman of football. He specialized in a somewhat obscure aspect of the game, one that many people will not do.
Hopefully he doesn't end up spending time in the DPRK though lol
I remember watching that moment live Deion and Devin had after he broke Deion's record. Pretty cool moment. You could tell Deion was so proud of Devin, not just because of his words but his actions. Like a proud father watching his son achieve greatness.
Put this man in the Hall of Fame. If you tell a story about the entirety of the NFL, you have to include how dangerous he was
If Brian Mitchells not in the HOF than Hester certainly isn't either
Devin Hester was much more dangerous than Brian Mitchell.
@@bkdamron1 he was but he wasn't as good as an overall player as Mitchell. Brian holds practically every career punt and kick off return record in NFL history. If he's not in the HOF than Hester has no chance. If I'm a coach I'd take Mitchell over Hester 10 times outta 10... besides being a great returner Mitchell could play RB could catch and even played QB in the NFL...he might be the best all around player ever
@@collin355 lol if u dont think hester is gonna be hof ur fucking nuts,, devin hester single handedly made the nfl change its kick off rules are u fucking joking this man legit changed how football was played

Why the hell would you EVER punt to Hester? Punt it out of bounds every single time. I remember screaming at the TV when Atlanta punted it to him....luckily it got called back
28-3 K. It's been said. No one else needs to now
As a guy who lives in Illinois The ridiculous amount of plays centering around his 99 speed in madden made me want to hurt some one. I think it single handlely ruined madden for me. I felt like I was just in a sea of hester sweeps. Just playing against the same shit all day.
Because more likely than not he wasnt gonna go far or get tackled instantly, that is if he dosent call fair catch. They dont show that in highlight videos though
Jackson D that’s true power of fear. Kinda like intentionally walking 04 Barry Bonds with the bases loaded and you’re up 2 runs.
@@superadam2112 yeah but 04 Bonds was way scariers than hester was tbh
I watched him break that record and it brought a tear to my eye. I'm not a Hester fan or fan of any teams he played for but it was such a great moment and accomplishment. The high stepping was icing
To this day Hester was my favorite player of all time to watch. The speed and the vision were beyond incredible. I violated multiple bedtimes just to sneak into the living room to watch this man scorch the field. As only a kick return specialist, Devin Hester embodied greatness. Thank you for the great video!

Im Prime, that was what I grew up on bears defense its nice to see us succeeding again but i miss the old guys
We can just hope that the current team can acheive the same greatness
As a Bears fan, I got to say that after Sweetness himself, Hester is my favorite.

@@lordaizen5186 ummm ok?
@Xmas-Jackson-Flaxon-Waxon its 2 years actually
What if the NFL made it illegal to Punt out of bounds?
What are you doing here???
He would have had 25 return touchdowns at least. Why he slumped in his 3rd/4th season is because teams wouldn't punt to him. To utilize his talents that were going unused stemming from this, the Bears moved him to WR and he led the team in receptions in just his second year at the position with like 68 if im not mistaken. Dude could do it all. Its a shame we will never see another one like him with the rule changes to kickoffs.
Nomicro4u devin Hester would have at least 10 more TDs
that would be dope, they would have to add a stipulation for coffin corner situations.
As a chiefs fan, I would love that rule change lol.
GOAT return man As a bears fan he was incredible, breathaking and you always had to be on edge when he returned truly a GOAT and HOF worthy
Omg guys I just checked and Devin Hester just got voted into the hall of fame yesterday!!! 😮😮 He’s going to Canton!!!😮😮😮
Dude had one of the most insane rookie years
He was so good, I miss him
anyone who knows football knows that special teams is a huge part of the game and can change the way the game turns out pretty quickly.. the bears made a great choice drafting him based on his ability to change the game when he gets the ball
He didn't even have to get the ball. After a few returns his rookie season, teams did all they could to kick short or out of bounds so he wouldnt have a chance. The Bears field position advantage during his prime was insane. And the teams that thought they could cover him so they just kicked it to him normal are the ones that ended up getting burned. It was a lose lose situation for the opposing team.
Tanner. You couldn't be more right. If you notice, most trans that win the Superbowl have great special teams. If not great, then extremely consistent! Kudos on great comment! Have a great day
Someone that knows football...
Agreed I means bears were good that year but 14! Return TDs your rookie season? One in the sb....big reason they were there for sure
Then the fools tried to turn him into a receiver.
In addition to his way-out physical skills, Devin had a freakish eye for unfolding and changing patterns (happening in the twinkling of an eye) that you can't coach and medicine would not be able to explain. He should definitely go to the Hall of Fame!
Great moment between Deion and Devin... amazing friendship and the way Devin always looked up to Deion is just beautiful

My man lowkey should of been of running back🐻⬇️ forever will be one of my favorites we miss you 23🙏🤲🙌
They ran the ball with him and he was NOT an effective RB. His skill returning kicks/punts did not really transfer over to the offense as one might think. In fact, after the NFL outlawed wedge blocking on kick off you start to see his production start to decline.
I thought he would have been a good slot receiver instead the bears would try him at wide out. He had occasional success.
He did not translate into a Running Back because the Kicking Unit on Special Teams does not have 300lb - 375lb linemen in the way... That Unit is usually filled with Defensive Backs, Linebackers and a smaller Defensive End or two at the most. Devin simply chose to just outrun all the "smaller" guys who thought they were faster than him... He was the best at it too!!! Running back's in the NFL have to be able to take a beating! Not "jukes" but power running, to be able to get past those BIG linemen. Devin didn't have those kind of legs is all.
No way. He would've gotten beat up.
He was not a good running back and his receiver routes sucked but he was the best returner ever
The Windy City Flyer This dude and those Lovie teams were my childhood… 8th grade in 06 I remember exactly where I was, who I was with, for almost every TD… This man has a special place in my, and so many fans hearts. I legit shed tears during his moment with Prime
Imagine every time you kick or punt the ball you have to be genuinely worried that's it's going to be a touchdown.
Finally someone showing some love to Hester! he was truly a crazy Returner
💯
He is revered here in Chicago. I got his autograph at the Bears training camp his rookie year, on one of his first days of Bears practice ever and spoke with him briefly and he was soft spoken and seemed like really a good dude. I remember a bunch of people yelling his name and calling him "Sir" while asking for his autograph and he was laughing because he had this " I'm just a rookie and a nobody" attitude and was just taking in all the fans excitement, but little did we all know at the time we were talking to the guy who would become the greatest return man ever in the NFL.

There are very few sports channels with editing that is this high quality. I can watch these over and over to feel the narrative. Good stuff!
He's the only player I've ever seen where kickers would just kick the ball out of bounce and take the penalty to the 40 yard line rather then risk getting the ball returned for a td, Punters would take the short punt out of bounce for the same reason. He terrified those poor kickers and punters for years.
They did it to Josh Cribbs too from time to time.
Josh Johnson Tyreek Hill is literally getting the same treatment now.... Hill no longer returns kickoffs but trust me Kickers would not give him a chance. He rarely gets a legit shot to return a punt because punters do not punt to him
STARKILLER Kickers would simply kick It through the end zone, with Hester it was a time when that wasn't as common, and so most kicks were returnable, and for a time, teams would consistently kick out of bounce and take the penalty, like multiple times a game. Others have where punters and kickers may kick away here and there, but consistently just kicking it out of bounce for most of or for the entire game, 2-4 times per game? A league of his own with that.
Out of bounce
Back then punters would kick it short to protect themselves and instead of teams regular punt coverage teams they would put their fastest players to get there so he would fair catch it
I love your videos because they have good content and you don’t lie you tell real stories
