Michael Singer discusses the intersection of psychology and spirituality to point us toward the discovery of who we really are.
Begin the Course "Living from a Place of Surrender" Today: bit.ly/3BHCPUB
What do psychology and spirituality have in common?
In this podcast, Michael Singer discusses how both psychology and spirituality help us illuminate the nature of the human mind and the mystery of consciousness. When we resist experiences we find uncomfortable, he explains, we begin to "make a mess" of our inner lives. Through the teachings and practices made available in spirituality and psychology, we can do the work of cleaning things up, purifying the flow of our life-force energy and returning to the ecstatic states we were meant to live in.

  • I have been living with depression for a while now, I am so relieved to hear that I'm not my thoughts, I'm not my mind or my beliefs.

    • When people try to hurt you that's a terrible thing to deal with. But you have to always remember to smile! A SMILE can throw people off, like you don't know. What really bothers people like me, is that there is no resolution. No finality. That's what causes the depression. When you see that kind of behavior continue. Sometimes they call that Family Dynamics. At some point you have to pull away from people that are not healthy for you. That can be very tough. My journey has always been to learn how to navigate around and away from the anger and negativity that pulls me down.

    • Likewise! I feel that I’ve been asleep for most of my life! I do wish that I’d come across Michael Singer’s work earlier, but the time is now right, and it’s time to invest the effort in sorting things out in order to move forward. I don’t know about you, but despite having deep bouts of depression over the years, I consider myself a happy and positive person - that’s what I need to listen to more often! Wishing you well on your journey!

  • 13 gentle and urgent reminders from your soul: 1. You're ALWAYS exactly where you are supposed to be 2. Self-esteem is measured by you (nobody else gets to decide your worth) 3. Get rid of fear: FOREVER 4. When things are tough, change the way you see things 5. Don't dwell on/in the past (come back to this present moment) 6. It's only temporary (all of it!) 7. You have what it takes 8. You don't need to change 9. Release your need for control 10. Accept. Allow. Breathe. Deep. 11. Remember where you came from 12. Remember that you are not alone (not ever!) 13. Remember who you are

  • Michael has understood the highest level of spirituality. If he is living with that understanding then we can say he has attained nibbaba. In Buddhist Suttas there is one called Cultanhasankhaya Sutta (MN 37). When someone asked Buddha whether he could summarize all the teachings in one phrase, Buddha replied “ No thing should be clung to”. Then he said “when one doesn’t cling, he is not agitated. When is not agitated, he personally attains Nibbana. Michael says: “ relax and release”. Wow! It is the same thing!

  • Michael’s message parallels so beautifully the teachings of A Course in Miracles. Lesson 254 in the Text is “Let every voice but God’s be still in me.” It goes on to say, “Today we let no ego thoughts direct our words or actions. When such thoughts occur, we quietly step back and look at them and then we let them go. We do not want what they would bring with them. And so we do not choose to keep them. They are silent now.” This is exactly what Michael is talking about when he encourages us to relax and release, to get behind the mind chatter and become the watcher. ACIM is a beautiful reinforcement of Michael’s message. ♥️🙏🏼♥️

I’ve seen the light on Aya journeys. It was magnificent, full of love and acceptance, and I experienced the bliss of pure love.

  • Michael Singer, I appreciate your teachings. I would love it, however, if you could deeply into a very traumatic example...how does one "handle" abuse? Especially if it's a younger person living in an abusive household? Or a woman at the hands of violent abuse? How does she "let go of herself " or handle that experience? A lot of your examples are relatively "easy" things to let go of...traffic, hair, he said this or that. What about truly disturbing events?

    @Corrans@Corrans Жыл бұрын
    • I took his course, it went to mastering your past events- BIT BY BIT, just like when you practice your Piano lesson, playing tennis. Basically you are not gonna become good at something right away..... but you need to get started 1st, and start from somewhere. Whatever happened in the past, it's already over. However, if you keep it inside , you are reliving it over and over in the present time.... Things come and go. If it happens again, deal with it , right at that moment (breath and relax as well), then let it go.

  • I am finding this a wonderful teaching. But he lost me @51sec when he said that Jesus Christ said “we are suppose to be absolutely ecstatic every second of every day.” Is that true? I think there is non resistance, acceptance and and joy. Not all happen all the time.

  • You know some people actually don't have an internal voice. They discovered this recently, no internal monolog. Some people also see complete black 24 7 in their head they can't visualize, they can't remeber a smell or sound or feeling, I have aphantasia and it sucks.

  • i love his teachings and they are simple however i do not agree with what he said about addiction, its not that easy to quit ciggarettes or alcohol, you just can not not do it. i mean its easier said than done...but A Spiritual Experience can change your life.

    • @@thesage90 thats because you probably never developed an addiction to it.. there are many people who use alcohol or drugs recreationally without a problem at a party or get together and be fine the next day and not develope an addiction.And its true that some people can stop just like that but this is rare. than there is the man who must uses multiple times a day because its turned into a psyhological habit and physical addiction and tolerance.. yes its important to treat the psychological aspect but its also medical aspects which are physical {withdrawels}... i tried to stop drinking many times and did the AA group thing and rehabs and tried to not just pick up the bottle and drink and i lacked the will power.. will power and the ego and flesh is not enough to overcome addiction, at least for me.. what helped me to stop drinking was An Spiritual/Mystical Experience, An Spiritual Awakening!! This changed me forever.

    • He has never suggested that it's easy. He always says it's extremely difficult but the bottom line is it's about whether you want to. If you really want to, you use your will and you go through the stages and you just stop doing it. An analogy for reaching a state of consciousness, 99% of the journey is wanting to.
