@Mark M. this is true
On the other hand, both Deadpool and Spiderman have no charisma on changing the tide of a City with their ideology. While Bane put it into reality.. just like now in US. LOL.
The game did that as well
Nah Muhammad Ali was the O.G. for that homey
“You fight like a young man, you don’t hold back” I love how Batman learns throughout the movie that the best way to be a hero is to have fear of losing and dying.
He had to regain what he lost in Batman begins
Batman never feared dying. It's one of the things that made him a hero, his willingness to help others even at his own life.
“You fight like a younger man, nothing held back”
Seems Batman took that to heart & fought Bane much more cautiously in their rematch.
For those who saw The dark knight rises by Christopher Nolan, Nolan Said that the political message of the Dark knight trilogy failed and people didn't understand it. He emphasized that people didn't listen to Bane Message or the league of shadows. Bane He clearly shows that he hates the Western civilization He uses suicide-bombing tactics He was quoted to have said ''the next error of western civilization'' - not the next error of Gotham, but the whole westernized civilization He came from a pit in the Middle-East, where terrorism is around -He hates corruption and decadence -He wants to expose Gotham ( western civilization) to the people and than give them power to decide for themselves where they stand -He views the " criminals" in the society as victims of corrupted system ran by true criminals that belt this environment that produces decadence which produces mental illness and crimes. -He views Batman as protector of the elites and susastiner of a system that has already failed. -He sees Batman as a fake hero who sustains a system that ran by true criminals and attacks the victims of the system ( like the Joker) I think Nolan took some aspects of Middle-Eastern terrorism (often seen by" radical "Muslims) and applied them to Bane. League of Shadows is certainly Al Qaeda to Nolan and he surely doesn't like the system.
“The shadows betray you, because they belong to me” A perfect quote

Bane Is A Fucking Monster! Peace Has Cost You Your Strength. Victory Has Defeated You! I Can Get Into This Scene Because For All The True Comic Book Fans Know Bane Snaps Batman/Bruce Wayne's Back When He Gave Batman The Ass Kicking Of His Life. Batman Couldn't Do A Damn Thing Against Bane Because He's A Beast. So All You Tough Guys Out Their Don't Feel Like A Loser If You Lose A Fight Remember When You Fight Again, To Make Sure You're Truly Ready & Have The Proper Training For The Guy You're Going Up Against. Please Remember In This Same Film Batman Gets On The Floor Once He's Healed & Begins Training Harder Than Ever & Getting His Head/Mind Right So He Can Show Bane YOu Can't Beat Me When I Focus & Get In Shape! Alfred Warned Him Before He left Master Bruce's Side. Alfred: Said, Look At His Speed, His Strength His Durability. Batman Says I'll Just Fight Harder, He Didn't Even Get Aldred's Point. Batman Wasn't Ready Just Like Rocky In Rocky 3 Mick Told Rocky You're Not Ready. Just Like Batman He Thought Fighting Tough Was Gonna Do The Trick, But He Wasn't Really Ready. So Remember Losing Can Be Better Than Winning Sometimes Because What Doesn't Kill Us Makes Us Stronger!

I love how Bane is giving Batman constructive criticism, insulting him, and beating his ass all at the same time.
"Let's not stand on ceremony here...Mr. Wayne" My jaw dropped the first time I heard that
Fans of the comic series know this, but Bane actually had worked out who Batman was under the mask. Before he ever took on Batman, Bane had others wear Batman down, so that by the time Bane got to him, Batman had no strength left to adequately face him. Bane’s strength, his presence, and his intelligence beyond most people writing Bane off as hulking, mindless brute… Nolan did his freaking homework.
@@that1whiteninja496 It's actually interesting how close the knightfall trilogy happened before this movie. People forget how new a villain bane is. Shows that new villains can still be iconic and hold a candle to the OG ones

“Peace has cost you your strength. Victory has defeated you.” You have to love this quote from Bane. Here, he tells Batman that it wasn’t a villain who defeated him, but his own success. How crushing is that? Even in victory, Bane says that Batman still loses. It brings to mind an old Bill Gates quote from Pirates of Silicon Valley: “Success is a menace, it tricks smart people into thinking they can’t lose."
No joke, the most badass monologue I’ve ever heard from any character ever
If you look closely throughout the fight, Bane is punching a fully-armored Batman with his bare knuckles. And, if you have watched the previous Dark Knight Batman films, you know that Batman's armor is pretty solid. Bane is punching this guy like it's no problem, but any normal human punching Batman's armor would easily have shattered their knuckles within two or three punches. This really shows how powerful Bane is in terms of strength, especially since his knuckles appear to have no damage done to them as a result of beating the crap out of Batman as well as the fact he is able to break Batman's cowl armor with just two to three punches. Tom Hardy truly played Bane as an excellent villain.
Well yeah, and it gets sillier at their last fight, because Bane punches through concrete. Nolan's "realistic" Batman lol
Judging by Banes wrist brace, he's still vulnerable to the ravages of Carpal Tunnel.

A fun little Batman Begins Easter egg very few people noticed is if you watch the scene were Ra's Al Ghul is training Bruce in the first movie, there are a couple of scenes where Ra's is holding his lapels the exact same way that Bane does in nearly every scene where he's wearing a top - like a schoolkid holding on to his book bag straps. Which if noticed the first time around, immediately tells the viewer that indeed Bane WAS very close to Ra's Al Ghul - so much so that he picked up and copied his habits. He was NOT "excommunicated" as Bruce believed.
Good observation! Goes to show how much they cared when making the fight scene
“Victory has defeated you” Damn, that’s a quote
Reference to the comic book "Dark Victory"
@Shannon when you fail, you learn to get better. If you only win, you learn nothing.
That quote also applies to Buu Saga Adult Gohan (before the Ultimate/Mystic stuff).
This quote applies so well to the recent Joshua vs Ruiz 2 boxing fight.
Shannon he’s become conceited into thinking that he is strong
No one is talking about “the shadows betray you, because they belong to me!” That is a terrifying line
Lol. My thing is, Batman had been retired for eight years, yet he somehow thought that throwing his suit and cape back on and taking out a couple of goons just automatically makes him a superhero again. Meanwhile banes been training the entire time and has fully committed himself to achieving his goal. Did Bruce really think he’d just come out of retirement and confront a literal monster among men and NOT get his ass whooped??

When Batman started to yell during the fight, that $hit legit broke me. He never made a sound during othet fights and he was already yelling from frustration and exertion. Damn. 😢
When Bane delivered that line "I didn't see the light until I was already a man but by then it was nothing but BLINDING" Elbowed tf outta Batman, making him fall. Those little gasps Batman made bc he was helpless, Then beat the shit out of his head made me so sick to my stomach to see him like that in the theaters.
Whoever did the sound effects for this scene has done a brilliant job. - Almost the entire sequence was done with no BGM which make it intense. - You can hear that a beast is approaching batman by the weight of the footsteps while batman's footsteps are almost silent. - Even with the punches you can hear that at first batman's punches are light while bane's punches and kicks have a heavy sound. - As the fight progresses batman realizes that his punches are not doing any damage to Bane, so he goes harder. you can hear that when he is hitting Bane's chest as hard as he can while bane is still unphased by his punches. - When batman shuts off the light you actually also stop hearing the waterfall noise from the background making it eerie. What a masterpiece of a scene.
Tom Hardy as bane is severely underrated. It’s tough he had to follow Heath ledgers joker, but he did a hell of a job as bane. Truly terrifying.
everyone/most love his performance.
@@1MinuteFlipDoc i think what he was saying is when people hear "dark knight trilogy" they automatically think Heath and the joker, which is no doubt justified because that performance was legendary; but Tom Hardy's Bane would have probably been considered one of the best movie villains if it was in another trilogy/franchise/etc and not directly after the joker
@@walmartbag458 That's what makes this franchise so good. Very villain is so amazing.

As a big time UFC fan, I give credit to the writer of this fight scene. 1. Bane has a steel chin. He took some heavy punches from the Batman in the beginning to weather the early storm. 2. Bane is about 10 pounds heavier but he is faster than Batman. 3. He kicked him in the stomach on stairs. Then ducked under right hook and punched his body. A left hook to body while coming down the stairs followed by 2 more left hooks to the body. The body shots really gassed out Batman. Batman took him down and tried some ground and pound. But Bane was again too strong. He threw him and got back up. He punched him again in the stomach followed by 5 big right hands to the head. These body shots remind me of Stipe Miocic second fight against Cormier. Stipe's left hooks to the body did the job for him.
Stop yapping😂😂, I promise u they were just showing bane was stronger than Batman at that point😭
Bane is more than 10lbs heavier. You can hear Banes heavy steps as he walks vs Batmans. He had at least 80-100lbs of power on Batman

+Azureus Fernández His voice has become iconic now, and synonomous with the character.
+Hedro Juarez OHHHHH LMAO!!!!
The thing that really stands out about this scene is Batman's desperation as he realizes he may not survive this fight. He hasn't left his comfort zone for so long that he's lost his killer instinct and betrayed his own League of Shadows training. Bane's men look on almost with disinterest, as if they know Batman poses no challenge to Bane, and Bane is about to destroy him. This was the toughest scene to watch in the entire trilogy
hot take, I think Bruce Wayne in the Wayne Manor talking with Ra's Al Ghul and Ra's Al Ghul trying to poison his mind while Bruce was clinging into that sliver of hope that Gotham isn't beyond saving was harder to watch. especially how Bruce was trying to convince himself that he can definitely save the city from itself and it doesn't need any kind of a tormenting cleansing.
Nah, not disinterest. That one guy was about to cream his pants watching Bane beat Batman up.
I felt like Bane’s people were looking on in a kind of sad way. That one white guy who was Bane’s number 2? He seemed like he felt bad. The guys are criminals but they’re still people. Bane is a supervillain which means all humanity has left the building for that guy. The criminals/henchmen would probably have mixed emotions about this. Like some just want to watch the world burn too but some probably just needed a job and were looking for work (like that kid mentioned to JGL at the Boys Home) ^I figured that one guy I saw earlier felt bad in a way bc yeah, you want to be able to be a criminal but BM was the last line of defense before society collapses. The criminals knew once BM was gone, real trouble starts. If I was them, I would be conflicted bc Batman at least held the line between chaos and order. Criminals can still be criminals without being villains (or even supervillains) **End of Rant. TDKT rules!
There will never be a superhero movie as good as this franchise.
Yeah nothing. Superhero movies are shit now.
Yep this was the best Batman series by far
Notice when Bane said " I didn't see the light until i was already a man" hinted already that he wasn't the child who escaped the pit. Its amazing how we got caught in the action and suspense of his words and the environment that we fail to realize that hint in plain sight.

I love how the guards knew that Batman was, even at his old age, still a brilliant hand to hand fighter. All looked like they realized that the odds were probably 55% in favor of Bane for him to win this fight. They all looked speechless to actually see the unbeaten legend, the Batman, not only taking such a beating knowing who he was, but also seeing Bane taking a very considerable beating regardless. I'm sure that they all second-guessed whether this was actually going to work and that they could see the consequences of seeing this whole plan go south right here, right now. All they could do is watch.

One of the most intense and breathtaking hand-to-hand fight I've ever seen in a movie so far. You can perfectly feel a mixture of anger, hate and vengeance through every punch and gaze between them. Nolan is really a master. We should be thankful to him and those few visionary movie directors who proved before anyone else that the cinecomic formula could actually work and convey genuine and one-of-a-kind emotions in theaters. Unfortunately, the film industry is relying too much on the artistic heritage of these masterpieces, and now we're often compelled to "consume" a lot of superhero-related stuff which often turns out to be unnecessary and artistically empty. That's the main point behind this recent wave of nostalgia for more "authorial" directors like Nolan, Raimi or Ang Lee. As people and therefore humans, I think that despite the giant steps in technology and the undeniable, worldwide success of the last movies, we are nonetheless able to perceive the lack of this kind of emotions in the majority of the last superhero movies. I'll never cease to believe that.
The best stories are human stories. Relatable stories. I will echo this sentiment til I die: the people that made the Halo show did not know what made Halo good. The show could have been parallel to this in terms of the great adaptations of all time if they realized that at its core, Halo is a war story about humanity. They needed to tell the story of the human-covenant war through a human lens (the marines). Hats off to Nolan for truly understanding what made Batman a compelling character. I will never forget these movies.
Batman: "You were excommunicated by a gang of psychopaths." Bane: "F u SAY chump!!!." LMAO!!!!!
The scariest part was seeing Bane toy with Batman. Bane took punches to let Batman wear himself out. Then shut down the punches when he wanted. He taunted Batman constantly. He was in control the whole time. That level of planning, understanding his opponent and confidence is terrifying.
Was just thinking this - @02:16 when Batman hits his mask he immediately reacts since that had annoyed him.
I agree
Like when Bane says he is there to fullfill Ra's destiny, Batman loses control and tries to get angry but Bane did keep pushing his buttons and get him off balacne
Martin Axe the same punches that conveniently broke his mask in the end fight
Those weren’t the same punches. Bruce was stronger and more sure of himself than he was here. That’s the point of the Pit. We see Bruce do exercise and improve his fitness in the time he was there. The Batman we see in the end is a far cry from this broken old man we see here
Batman knew 127 styles of martial arts.. he picked the backyard brawl style.
That is in the comics book
He was out of practice for 8 years and that too physically and mentally soaked up , he was not that young batman/bruce who was full of confidence on his skills and so with time his martial art fighting skills rusted down and discipline as well as his confidence in fight was lost
LOL!!! XD
stupid comment, and an even stupider commenter. Nolan's fight scenes were pathetically bad. Even the BvS movie had more realism in their fights!
@@alternateperez4086 So basically you prefer BvS because the fight/action was good so fuck off the rest of the film? Lol you surely love superfiction aren't ya?
“I was born in the dark” iconic line
Never says that tho😭
What i loved about this scene was there was no background music playing at all, just pure silence with only the sound of the water running which really helped add tension to the face off and physicality that both Batman & Bane brought to their confrontation. This moment not only brought a lot of fear and shock to the fact that Bane knows Batman's true identity but you could feel the chill of uncertainty that Batman may be physically outmatched by a very highly skilled and dangerous opponent. Bane did something that none of the previous villains could do, he broke the dark knight.
Batman: "you were excommunicated by a gang of psychopaths" Bane: *agrees with fist*
My man said nothing and then proceeded to beat the crap out of him.
It’s one of the few hits by Batman that actually landed.
@@thefractalcurve5462 Right? You can see Bane pause for a second and actually consider what Bruce just said, before punching him again :P
@@3X73RM I've always looked at it as if Bane was confused about what he said (mostly because I never was able to understand Batman when he said that) so he stood there a second confused and then punched him. But now that I know what he says, I agree with what you said.
Bane’s response: “Well yes, technically, but also how dare you 😡” 😂
Who else comes here every couple of months to hear how badass Bane is?
Me
pretty much
Here for it man. When ever I need to find my inner badass, I watch this and always hypes up!
Yup. Basically
Yep
I may be in the minority, but for me, Bane's dialogue in this beats Thanos' in Infinity War and Endgame. Though Thanos comes close, Bane's writing in this scene alone and the way he delivers it is sheer brilliance
Bane kills it 😂 I prefer him when it comes to dialog
1:44 “Members of the League of Shadows” the way he delivers that line is so intimidating for me
"And you betray us"
“Ah yes, I was wondering what would break first. Your spirit, or your body.” This quote is bone chilling.
More bone snapping, really.
3:00 I don't know why, but I find most bone chilling is that every punch Bane landed on Batman's mask cracked it more and more. And then to rip half of it off just like that at the end of the fight.
More powerful SNAP than Thanos.
I broke you...how have you come back??
Joker broke his spirit. Bane broke his body
Fun Fact: Tom Hardy, who plays Bane here, said the most difficult scenes for him were the fights between Bane and Batman. Not because of the physical strain, but because he felt like he was beating his childhood hero. Funny.
Yea lol I'd feel the same way.
I swear these actors say stuff just to say stuff or add the "aww factor" lol. Tom Hardy is full of crap on that one
@@AF-my4zj I suppose so lol
Could've swore it was a stunt double doing the fighting scenes. Not Hardy.
@@whyme3772 oh wow cool lol
"Oh yes. I was wondering what would break first. Your spirit, or your body."
I remember seeing this in theaters as a kid and when Bane rips off the broken half of the cowl, I remember that being the first time I was scared for the hero
The way Bane speaks each word, not just in this scene, but every time he's on screen, conveys multiple shades of emotion, intent, thought, and conviction. A masterful performance by Tom Hardy.
Autocorrect has defeated you.....
Autocorrect has entered the chat.
@@VaderPopsVicodin10 tom hardy just a god at whatever he touches
Yes.
What's more is every fucking line he delivers is a worthy quote.
" the shadows betray you... because they belong to me" gives me chills every time
his accent in that moment too sounds so so so good
Facts.
Hey guys, I just uploaded a video on my channel on the real meaning behind the Dark Knight. @Abdul R Bane is a bigger version of Batman is most versions of the Story.
The one time Batman was actually frightened lol
"You Fap like a younger man, Nothing held back, admirable but mistaken"
"Porn has cost you your imagination. Smut has defeated you."
@@dars5229 "You merely adopted the friend zone I was born in it, molded by it"
3:41 an underrated line for sure !
Notice how throughout the trilogy Batman nearly never makes a sound when he fights, but he's full-on groaning and grunting loudly in anger, he's lost his discipline, that's the last thing you want your enemies see.
That yell at 1:22 broke my heart when I first saw this. I knew it was over for Bats at that point and I was genuinely scared for him lol
He wasn't ready for bane
@@donniecastro1456 That yell at 1:22 was when I realized "Holy shit, he's not goin easy on Bane, he's full effort tryna beat him & getting destroyed."
Donnie Castro I knew it was over when Catwoman locked the cage behind him. The realization that he wasn't just looking for Bane...Bane's been looking for him. But you're right...that cry of desperation really showed that Batman wasn't ready for this fight!
Bane forced him to raise his game to another level. His "Spirit" as bane would say was always there but he needed more then that to defeat Bane. Once he broke out of the hell hole he was on a mission to defend Gotham and end Bane.
“The shadows betray you because they belong to me” that’s a super villain right there
And how his voice snaps at the end is perfect
Tom Hardy was a perfect choice for Bane.
@@Stormborn_717Yes. I love the much more realistic Bane 😮💨😮💨
Bruce dropped his guard in this film and betrayed his own League of Shadows training. Peak Bruce would not have made the same mistakes
Great line of the movie
Peace has cost you your strength, victory has defeated u. Such a great line, and it makes sense.
When I say he beats the Breaks off Batman, I mean the actual Breaks. Bane told that chump, "You adopted the light I was born in it." This was one of the coldest lines in the entire movie.
Honestly, “you were excommunicated by a gang of psychopaths” is also a vicious insult.
Unless he considers himself a psychopath already haha
Well he did seem to take it personal when he said that
@@Cartman4wesome lmao yeah
Viscous?
@@MrBraddles3128 aka science thicc
The way bane slithers down that chain using only upper body strength is menacing af
It is quite easy though and I bet he could climb up this way too, considering his physique
@d R there are twice as many overweight people than there are starving people, just so you know. And both these groups combined are not the majority, they make up less than one third of the global population
@@ManOverboard tom hardy is physically active and he's a judoka black belter and actually won tourneys.
@d R I've seen kids do this. Hell when i was a kid i was climbing coconut trees like a monkey every summer. Cant do it now though. I think fear of falling and me getting old.
@d R most children can do this. It requires determination and a little practice. Unless you're overweight, which ironically, you probably are. Stop being a victim.
This scene is so epic and well builted that i often come back and rewatch it. And every single time I'm mesmerized by it. The fight, the lines, the incredulity in the soldiers face. A true masterpiece
“The shadows betray you because they belong to me” hardest line ever even the tone and the delivery was perfect fuck this gives me chills
"Ah, you think darkness is your ally." I can't tell you how epic this line was in IMAX. Hardy killed it
I love the line "Lets not stand on ceremony" Because he means it No speeches No back and forth We're here to fight so lets fight
That wasn’t even Hardy’s voice lol
@@scottsmith31 that was literally his voice bro, you can’t make shit up and think people won’t call you out for it
@@scottsmith31 it was his voice.
@@taleoftwowolves74 they always do that in superhero films and I’m glad they don’t do that here
When he threw the flash bangs, Bane's lack of reaction was basically 'Mr Wayne, you are embarrassing yourself now'
Looked more like a tool that shoots off little explosions to distract people. As Bane says, it's a good tool against unsuspecting targets, but they're already engaged in a fight, so using a gadget like that now is just silly.
@@wusscake you just repeated what he said.
@@jenki221 Big difference. Bane was very polite in how he said it. You'll learn in life that how you say things can mean the difference between getting a promotion and getting fired.
He was though. Of course it won't work while you had already been discovered and losing a fight. Oh I'm supposed to be frightened that you threw poppers at me then turned out the lights?
@@wusscake no I meant you repeated what the OP said.
Bane's dialogue delivery and acting is straight 🔥
Every nuance of this scene was so perfect, even how the cape catches Batman right before he sets down. Funny, Bane admits that Bruce is stronger than he is, but has 'lost it'.
Using no background music and just bane's heavy bass voice is what makes this scene more chilling. An absolute cinematic masterpiece.
And the ambiance. That waterfall sound on surround sound, you can feel how big that place is where they're fighting.
Idk there's one version thats to Soul Battles by ryan taubert and it fits pretty well kzhead.info/sun/drqKms2xnqRjamw/bejne.html
I'm glad other people noticed that. The complete lack of soundtrack highlights the cold brutality of the fight. No glamour, no epic chorus, just Batman being systematically destroyed. This was a brilliant choice. Nolan is a sorcerer.
@@nietzschesshadow-thebook6780 compare this to any marvel movie lol I wish dc would do more stuff that isn’t part of a universe
You know batman's in trouble when he's fighting someone and there's *no background music.*
"Ah yes, I was wondering which would break first. Your spirit.... Or your body!"
Every single of Tom's lines are delivered with perfection. So cool to see a master of his craft totally in the zone.
The lack of music in this fight is haunting. You don't just hear every blow, you feel them as well. You feel Bruce's desperation. You feel his unwavering zeal. And you feel his heart break when he's lost. Amazing, amazing scene in a great movie
Hell yea
The sound design is great! There's certain moments when ambient noise drops. My favourite part is when batman gets back up, there's the rushing water in the background, but as he charges towards Bane the ambient sound (rushing water) intensifies and abruptly drops when Bane blocks his punch and starts pummeling him. 😍
@@Cross-CutFilms i believe the entire time he wanted to die while its true selina betrayed him i could tell what he really wanted just as alfred said your afraid because you want to
