For decades, the National Judo Federation of Kyrgyz Republic has worked to popularize and improve the sport of judo.
Regional representations have been actively developing after the appointment of Mr. Kolbaev J.A. as the new president in 2016. Work was done in each region to establish representative offices and a working committee for the growth of judo.
In addition, NJFKR works extensively on education of coaches and judges. All necessary training seminars are held, and experts of all levels are invited to improve their judo skills.
Athletes from the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as athletes from other countries, attend international training camps on a regular basis, seminars, and other events have become more convenient to hold since the opening of the Regional Academy of the International Judo Federation in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Judo Academy is a cutting-edge center. A comfortable and convenient training hall with equipment is located on a 4000 square meters. 8 sets of tatami on 1000 square meters, as well as additional sports equipment, and all conditions are created, both for the national team and for anyone interested in judo; after all, the hall can accommodate more than 200 people at once. The academy was created with the goal of allowing new judokas and members of the national team to train every day. The establishment of such a training center is a significant step toward establishing high judo standards not only in Kyrgyzstan but also abroad.

For Kyrgyzstan, the events of 2021 were unparalleled. The successful Asia and Oceania Championships, the launch of the International Judo Federation Academy, and Marius Vizer’s visit - during which the International Judo Federation Academy was given international status.
