Back in the 20th century, robbing a bank and selling drugs were ways to get rich quick.
You are in heavy competition using the same junk plastic as everyone else, your startup costs are going to be higher. Need machines, supplies, supplies for shipping, shipping itself, electricity costs. Most folks are selling stuff for super cheap, you can't print existing IP products without risk of getting sued. The only real money you can make is in custom design or going industrial. Why would anyone use your services when they could just get a printer themselves and have the part done before you can even ship it to their door. If you are giving royalties to other designers to sell their stuff - you have already lost the game here. You have to think of the margins here.

There is also the scale ability, You can quickly go from intermediate printing to plastic injection molding machines and start bulk production given you invest more into it.
I got a 3d printer recently and was thinking of doing this, however I have noticed most of the problems you have listed. It seems like you will be in a negative deficit between buying more pla, electricity costs to leave leave it overnight most nights. Could be a fire hazard if you are printing indoors like myself… it just seems too much obstacles than it is worth. Thanks for the comment.
What your saying is to make money with a 3d printer become a designer and don't print anything. That doesn't work for the people who are very good mechanically with getting good results from their printers but are bad at art

I don’t think so, unless you designed it yourself and did not attach a license agreement between the user and creator I believe anyone can, essentially take your designs and sell online anywhere. You wouldn’t even know.
