This Brazilian team was a truly legendary team. Perhaps the best team ever to have won the world cup, beside the other Brazilian team that won WC 1970. The Brazilian team that played on home soil in 2014, in attempt to exterminate the ghosts of 1950, was a far cry from the champions of 1970 and 2002 and from even being Brazilian.
I was only 10 years old. I remember our school gave us leave early so we could go home and watch the finals. This was the best Brazilian team in recent times. Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Roberto Carlos, Ronaldinho, Kafu were all mesmerizing players who when left, left big shoes to fill. Kaka tried, neymar tried but Brazil was never the same again. Brazil winning the cup in 2002 is still my most favorite football fan moment of all time.

Fun Fact: Argentina were the favourites to win the WC as they crushed every team in the Qualifiers including vs Brazil both matches win. But Argentina got beaten in the group stage.
