Today I travel all the way to Idaho Falls in search of the Holy Grail of all welding tables. I’ve been hunting for one of these Acorn welding tables for 8 years now. Today is the day my search ends. So come along as I try to negotiate for the ULTIMATE WELDING TABLE!

This table really needs leveling feet and not castors. I have one myself and I'll tell you first hand that cast iron top is heavy enough to not be flat sitting under it's own weight allowing it to form to the floor. You really should set it up in a good spot and make it level. Something like this in your shop shouldn't be moved around all the time as it's too important keeping a good flat work surface. If it isn't level in all directions it's not flat. You could weld a part up clamped down to table and turn it 90 degrees and it would rock. I put threaded swivel levelers on my acorn plate frame. If you need to do something to position it just make it temporary or bolt on. This is my advice in what I have experienced. My 60x60 platen weighs about 2200-2300lbs without the base frame.
My floor is dead nuts, I checked before we set it. But definitely going to do the leveling legs anyway!
Cleanest job shop I've ever seen, lol
Congratulations on your find and purchase! Great people to deal with…really liked that old “Michigan” beast of a machine. Good Neighbor there!👍👍
Haggling on camera,smooth😁
Sleaze ball move,.... I love it ! hahahaa
Hey maybe it sends some business his way. 😂
I'm deeply jealous. Of the table and the room to have it. You got a hell of a deal and I'm sure you'll put it to good use
Hell Yeah Brother!
Thanks Rob .. nice table Anthony !
HOLY SHIT Rockstar!!! There is so much to unpack in this short beauty! First off that table for $3000, what a steal, then I have never seen, and I've been in industry for 35+ years, a machine like Leif's! That thing was a skidster on steroids😂😂Finally, lets hope Rob sees a little extra work thrown his way! Keep that hammer down Rockstar, little by little your gonna continue to win!
Hell ya buddy! Liefs the man! I’m excited to put the table to use
Congratulations on your new table
Nice Score!
Thanks rob
Good deal is a good deal gotta grab it while it hot
Anthony for the SCORE!!!!
Awesome fixture table, Anthony! Heavy duty! Any idea how much it weighs? Nice to see you post some welding related content!
It’s about 3000 pounds I’d say! Thanks bud! The house is coming along hopefully it’ll be more regular now
I have a similar table with round holes..... I used 2 4 wheeler jacks to jack it up and put it on automobile rollers in the shop.
That is a nice table.
Damn, that old Michigan loader might've loaded pallets onto ships during the war, and here it is still plugging along in rural Montana. Wicked table Anthony, but I covet your neighbour's janky loader.
Wow great buy
Im glad you got a great deal. Hopefully the owner will get some sales off of your video. Gotta support USA made, and owners, and workers.
Ya that guy was super cool
Ahh yeah I used to work on one of those every day super nice tables can do anything on there. We had 4 5x10 we could but up together and have a 10x20 table and build big stuff. Awesome table.
That's a super sweet score .
cool loader
Nice buy! Good content. I been looking at fixture tables and I figured I’ll be looking for as long as you have
That's a SMOKING deal!! I built my own certiflat 6x12 fixture table and by the time I built the frame and bought all the fixtures I had 3x that into it. Big score!!
Definitely bud!
Major score! It's hard to get one used like he was saying. I'm still saving for mine. One of these days ...
Anthony, that was a massive table. It's always helpful to have friendly neighbors like Leif. By the way, the name suggests he or his ancestors are from Scandinavia. Do you know which country? Cheers.
Not sure! Lief is awesome. I got the neighbor lotto with that family
Nice score, you'll love it, I have a 5ft square (Weld Sale) acorn table in my garage!
Nice! I always see 4x4 never seen a 5x8
Really pleased you got the table looks awesome look forward to seeing it put to use 👍👍
You and me both!
would have loved to have meet you i work in the shop behind where you picked up the table
We have one of those at the welding school I went to, nice heavy duty, USA.
That Michigan loader is from back when "operator comfort" meant they would sell you an umbrella with a matching logo on it as an accessory.
Rob did you a brilliant deal there young man on a great table with the clamps.
Yes sir he did!
Congrats, man! Love your channel
Thanks a ton!
sweet score MMA
Thanks man!
slick table nice man
Yo Anthony that shop is fucking dope man I been a sub since day one buddy I love how far you’ve come and grown god bless dude
Thanks brother!
More Videosssssssssssss
Hell ya !! 👍🏼
Nice table, the little shitty fab shop that I used to work in had an old acorn just like that. I’m sure they still have it to this day bc they refused to get rid of anything, or buy new shit. Fixed everything there with welds, rubber bands, and or duct tape lmao
congratulations is big table
Thanks brother!
you can build some level amounts with the equipment you just purchased
Thanks for the vid and thanks Rob for showing us his shop I like looking at others to see how they are set up yeah hopefully you keep doing long version vids me personally I hate shorts mainly because I’m not holding the phone I wasn’t born with three hands I’m already using them cant swipe the screen every thirty seconds anyway thanks bro have a good one
Next week is the full tour!
I've always wanted one, but don't have the room! Yours looks to be in really nice shape, but know that there are companies that will re-mill the surface so it's perfectly flat if you ever need it - again your's look fine. NOW you have NO EXCUSES for anything to warp while welding - haha! PS: I'm jealous!
Right 😂 I’m excited to put it to work! I may have booked some jobs fornit
👍👍
my best friends father-in-law has a few of these half buried out back of his sugarshack. Maybe I should get one?! his are the 4x4 size
Yes definitely
Put some leveling legs and casters on it
That’s the plan!
fuck yeah now grab a square and let's see the tolerance
It’s not bad, but not perfect
You saved $500 from the asking price which is incredible. Just wondering how long it takes to make that table. It’s time-consuming to drill every hole. What else specifically makes it the best of the best?
It’s cast iron ! And they are very durable
@@MeltinMetalAnthony Also cast iron is not as susceptible as steel to weld splatter. Unbelievable find!
