Quite simply the biggest derby in history. The match of the century. The derby to end all derbies. Boca Juniors vs River Plate in the Copa Libertadores final is like el clasico in the Champions League final with a bomb under it. Eli Mengem travelled to Buenos Aires knowing all this… but still couldn’t have predicted just how crazy this game was going to be.

Im from Australia. Ever since KZhead was created back in 2005 I was able to watch súper clásico uploads, i connected with Argentines and eventually lived my dream in 2008, where I travelled to Argentina and went to river Boca in el monumental with La Doce! While it was the most incredible experience I’ve ever had, I would never watch a game with La Doce again, the sheer danger I was in had me almost in tears, the hooligans will literally beat you up if a group of people aren’t chanting and singing like they’re suppose to.. I saw it with my own eyes. I literally rubbed shoulders with the most dangerous people in Argentina if not South America. Im a school teacher now and I tell the story of that day to my students !
What you just told is an amazing history im from argentina Ive been there and its thoght as hell ,Australian people are very brave much respect to you cheers

Other cities may think they have a derby, but compared to Boca Juniors - River, nah... Their little derbies, that's childplay. The Bs. As. one? That's on another plane. It's too bad they can't have away fans anymore-those videos you see with half the stadium in red fog, shirts, banderas; the other half equally, covered in yellow & blue fog, bloody carnage, flares going off, people climbing on fences... it's something to behold. That is some powerful spectacle, like a power keg.

this derby just made barcelona vs real madrid el classico like a child's play
curious pug thats why its called superclassico
Looks like child’s play in passion with the fans not actual football 😌
Kind of, but when it comes to actual reasons behind the rivalry those are magnitude larger for el clasico. From Francoist dictatorship to killing catalonians, banning their language, abolishing their self government. Boca juniors and River plate is still mostly about football, el clasico is something quite a bit more. Real Madrid represents the Spanish king, FC Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia.

As a Brazilian, this was easily the biggest match ever to happen in South America. Maybe, not in the right decade, it doesn't feel south american football and the two clubs were at their prime on 2018. Anyway, Brazil also have a lot of passion, it's very similar to Argentina. We have crazy rivalries, we have violence, people killed by "hooligans". Its pretty much the same. Gremio x Inter is a huge one, and even more similar due to it's proximity with uruguay and Argentina culture. Our fans copied the argentinian ones and are mostly different from the rest of the country. But here in Brazil, as the country's economy evolved, people got more educated, we had brand new stadiums for the world cup and so on, it seems that raw passion and blood from before has settled down. We like to party, we are passionate, but these things don't stick here anymore. I feel that such a strong passion, that defines your whole personality and makes you HATE other people, rage, hurt, kill, despise, is just unhealthy, not worth it, and its a sign of other issues with society. This level of dedication happens when you're too uneducated, the economy is shit, and people try to relax and have a meaning of living on it. This final, although epic, it was a real shame for everyone involved. You bet, even us Brazilians were. We wanted a showz a healthy, fair show with goals, players, memes, fans and a beautiful match. But we had the "war" everyone seemingly wanted and regretted after
i used to feel respect and admiration for the love and passion, argentinians have for their Derby, i lost it when i found they can't control it and the consecuences of it
You should tour this movie on documentary film festivals. It's a timeless piece of art.
But they need to add highlights from the 2nd leg , 3-1 boca lost, fans in silence and River champions
If they'd covered the final in Madrid it would have been Oscar-worthy.
@@bigworm2129 definitely because River not only beat voka, they beat the President of Argentina, the corruption , the AFA...Hollywoood couldnt write such a story book ending
HOLY SHIT IM CRYING!!!! this pandemic is crazy holy shit i miss this energy so much.
Lástima q perdieron no?
If this is the last Derby Days episode, I'd be okay with that. There is no other rivalry in world football that can top this.

So, the real end was missed. RIVER PLATE wins in Madrid 3-1 in a match equally in passion and madness. And yes, now River Plate is the one who is going to own every football discussion against Boca fans for decades...

This Documentary is a Masterpiece. You managed to capture all the Passion of TRUE FUTEBOL! As the Great Bill Shankly put it, "Some people believe football is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that". Thank you Buenos Aires for keeping True Football Alive for all us fallen, Cheers.
Sadly, the argentinian passion in football now its only in the international competitions. In local football the visitant fans are prohibited.
How does this not even have 1 million views
@@MolotovKiller but that is for the violence, nothing to do with true passion
@@Martinl8 Well everything about el superclásico is about violence, that is not "passion" in any way
One of the BEST documentaries about football of ALL TIME !!
Disgrace that the second leg was played in Madrid.
Disgrace that CARP fans threw rocks through the windows of the Boca bus. Then again, why go in with bells and whistles? Get 8 blacked out taxis and drive the players in from the side. Not like it's a long drive and they need the full bus facilities.
buis00001 So Play In The Neutral Zone But Still In Argentina Don't Play In The Monumental
They should've played in Uruguay. But hey, money talked hard.
@@theobuniel9643 the goal was to keep ultras out how can u do that playing in uruguay lol
The game was already in disgrace and disrepute by the time the first time the second leg was postponed/cancelled. The reality is that these games still involve violence despite no matter how much regulation and history of deaths surrounding the game. They could have moved the game to Doha to appease the Qatari sponsors of the competition. Instead they respected the fact that Spain has a huge Argentine contingent. I went to the game, and I've been to the Bernabeu before for a champions league game. The atmosphere was nothing like I had seen before in European football.
Truly amazing documentary. Just like this game was the pinnacle of the South American football, this film is the pinnacle of all Derby Days. Easily the best video on the Copa90 channel. Eli, I wanted to congratulate you and all of your team, for the work you have done on this one. 55 minutes flew just like that. Made because of the passion you have for the beautiful game. Not biased at all. And the ending? Perfect, just perfect, straight to the point. I am lost for words. There wasn't an actual winner here. The real winner was hatred. This should be a tie to savour, once in a lifetime experience. La Bombonera and Estadio Monumental, not La Bombonera and Santiago Bernabeu. The decision to play the second leg in Spain was ridiculous and completely ruined the whole experience for me. An exceptional event that turned into an ignominous affair.
