  • I've recently watched this series of videos and loved them all, especially this one! It's awesome that you're able to do this for your mom. It's really cool the reactions you have gotten out of both of them she's got to be the coolest little old lady in Florida or wherever you're from LOL I could see this being the one she picks to go on some trips. My mom passed away last year, and I'd trade all the money in the world to have just been able to have had this kind of a relationship with her.     • Mallet took the Solstice and put an LS2 or LS7 in them could get blowers added too I believe if you wanted. I bid on one with an LS7 like 5-6 years ago wish I had bought. Already had a couple CTS-V and some other toys though. Mallet also was taking the first gen CTS-Vs like mine and putting LS7s in them too.

  • Adam, this absolutely rocks! The suggestion to put in a quieter exhaust is a good idea, I think. I'll bet, the more she drives it, the more she'll like it. Her talking about smoking someone with the turbo is a good sign. Anyone who chooses her out will get a wee surprise and I'm sure she'll love that. And with a quieter exhaust, the surprise will be cooler, as the rumble now is a bit of a giveaway. Have fun!

  • Adam, This is coming from a 75 year old retired Mechanic/technician, who has pretty much done and seen it all, I am very impressed with your work, it looks like the engine "grew" there. Your Mother in essence, has a Corvette now. The insurance is much less for this car than a 'Vette'. I want to say I'm impressed that you care for your Mother enough that you do everything right for her. Be safe and impress on your Mother to be extra careful with this car, she can get hurt if she loses respect for it, she can always get plenty of tickets too. BTW, I love your show, keep up the good stuff.

    • That is a really really good idea for THIS mom, and this car. I bet that that angry v8 would burn up the flaps though. Resonator swap, double glass packs on each side, and then add flaps in the exhaust and she would love it. I bet it would refine the anger of the engine a bit too. When you get a motor dialed in right, on a high horsepower car, it usually feels like you're letting it out of a cage when you give it a lot of gas. As if by design it is being held back by not giving it the pedal, is what you're shooting for. I do strongly suggest adding the flaps, and improving the resonators. The glub blub blub glub (cam) sounds too open for her liking. Car guys would all love that sound it makes, and I do, but it's not what your mom wants. I do kind of agree with your mom, and here is why: One thing about the solstice is that it was mostly silent and nimble, in it's stock form. All it's feel, and all it's moves were effortless, planted, and precise. With a v8 in there, it's shaking around and rumbling from all that displacement on a big cam. The only way to really calm it down, will be to put it in chains and that is by muffling, baffling, and/or resonating that exhaust. Also: Because Mom, I would recommend your friend make 3 or 4 tunes. From de-tuned, up to maximum hp. Mom will want to use the de-tuned map, most of the time. Super super cool idea, well executed swap! Also, great video. Your mom is a sweetheart. You're a great person to do more and more for mom, too. Happy New Year to you all.

  • When I was like 17 my Dad went on vacation and while he was gone I put a Dual exhaust system on our V8 Mustang II. At first he was all smiles (telling me to punch it when I picked him up at the airport, had a few in him lol) but it was too loud so I did eventually have to switch to quieter mufflers. However my dad raised me in a 68 GTO with side pipes. Talk about loud lol. And that hand me down was my first car.
