Part one of two. The Top Gear trio set out on an epic race from a small beach on Japan's west coast to a monument to the Buddha of road safety located half-way up Mount Nokogiri, some 400 miles to the east. Pitted against Jeremy in his 193mph Nissan GT-R are Richard and James using the might of Japan's incredible public transport system and its fabled 200mph bullet train. Taken from series 11, episode 4.

  • I took a year of Japanese classes(although I've forgotten most of it) and it was pretty easy to pick up. The fact that it is entirely phonetic makes it simpler to remember words and phrases.

  • Japan looks beautifull. Too bad it's so expensive to go there and, judging by the video, very few people speak English. Otherwise I'd go over there in a heartbeat. China was an amazing country to visit and I've got no doubt Japan is aswell. Anyone here been in Japan?

    @Twiggy163@Twiggy1639 жыл бұрын
    • Oscar lee thanks for telling. But the countryside seems the most appealing so I might have to learn a bit of Japanese then.

      @Twiggy163@Twiggy1639 жыл бұрын
    • Lennart Yes, I've been to tokyo and visited mount fuji, It was an amazing experience. It isn't as expensive as you would think and it is easy to get around. The japanese are some of the most polite, non aggresive, modern, cool, funny and respectable people I have ever encountered. All hotels I've visited around japan spoke a very good standard on english, and everything from buying drinks to ordering food is automated, japan is a very, very modern country. You select your food outside via a machine or number and they make it for you. And they have vending machines EVERYWHERE. Make sure you visit japan, you will not regret it. Far, far better than china and the chinese westernised people.

      @EinkOLED@EinkOLED8 жыл бұрын
    • EinkOLED thanks for sharing the experience, it got me even more curious about the country. About the food, I know they eat a lot of sea food (or that is just the stereotype view I have of them), but I assume there is plenty of other food aswell? I dont like sea food :')
