It's just so many rooms...and all those trees oh my... claustrophobia I just now contracted it. No way out!!

i mean its not a public service. hes making money off of it of course. its being sold off to people. Unless it is being opened up to the public to visit then hes not doing the public service, the person who bought it is. hes just commissioned

Timothy is do brave to take on such an enormously fabulous and historic project at this stage. Not that he's old, but, after completing Chateau du Grande-Lucé I'd have just hung up my hat and licked my lips like a Cheshire cat at my accomplishment. He is amazing. Looking forward to seeing the completed project.

Ah! But what might be of one person's dream that has a happy ending, might be another's dream that has no ending. 😉 I could see where restoration could become a lovely habit to form, but chateaus! I'm excited to see someone restoring such beauty and history. I hope it catches on so more will respectfully do the same. How does he contain himself?😍

I’ve been watching all your videos and this is by far my favorite. I love him. I would love to be his friend. I could listen to him all day describing everything. At age 64 I like to say that I have lived my life without envy but watching this I have felt a pang of what I can only imagine is ,,,, envy ! How on earth this chateau has survived intact over the centuries and not been vandalised by modernisation is a miracle ! Can't wait to see the results, would soooooooo love to see the process, my favorite part. Thank you girls xoxo

It is always nice to see very old architectural gems getting the love and attention they deserve for the present and for future generations as well!!! Hope Timothy lets us view the final transformation of this beautiful and historical property

This property has much more potential than Le Grand Luce, so much character here. I totally understand Timothy!!!I have no idea how to renovate it, it`s so much work. Moldings are insanely beautiful. At long last!!! I've been waiting for this video for so long. My heart skipped a beat when it appeared in my feed. I've watched it three times already! Timothy Corrigan is my absolute favorite designer. He is so warm and charming and passionate and that comes across in his design. He seems like a person you'd want to stay friends with too. I will be dreaming of the end result until I see what he does with the place. Although, personally I could move in right now with nothing other than an air mattress and be utterly content until I died. It is that gorgeous. The setting! My goodness. Just breathtaking.

I am practically dumbfounded; the property is at once majestic and charming! What a marvelous treat you have given us to see the property before renovations (though heck, I would move right in). I live far away in Indonesia and am like most people unable to leave home during this corona virus. I cannot tell you what pleasure seeing such a beautiful house and the warmth and enthusiasm of Mr Corrigan brings me. How I miss the world. I was waiting for this video for a year. I didn't think I could forgive Timothy for selling Le Grand Luce but the grounds of this chateau may very well be even more amazing. Please post more in real time so we mere mortals can see how long the process takes. I think fighting with Historic France might be too much for me but I can keep dreaming. good luck Timothy!!!

Yes, this property is I think even more amazing!! Tim was just starting some of the demolition when we visited in May. We can't wait to see the process results either!!
its funny how we think we have a say over others lives but I think when its put into the public arena we do get a say, im pretty sure the journey is far more fun for Timothy though. for me living/gardening/entertaining would be my delight

Loved your beautiful tour, We lived in Chatellerault , courtesy of US Army in 1957-1958I saw many Chateaus in the Loire valley and enjoyed reliving the experience

I am actually speechless! What an incredible château - and to take possession of it virtually intact, with all those breathtakingly beautiful boiseries still in situ and in such great condition. Timothy Corrigan must surely be due some sort of recognition from the French government for his tireless efforts saving such important and historical patrimoine. And what a perfect gentleman, too! On the edge of my seat now for the next update...
While much of the beautiful boiserie remains, the chateau needs much work which you can be assured Timothy will do with style and sensitivity. And to your remark regarding recognition, Timothy is the only American designer honored by the French Heritage Society for his restoration of several national landmarks in France! Stay tuned as we bring you the "after" of the chateau, hopefully next year!
Quintessence Thank you very much for your reply and these great videos. I am so pleased Timothy’s important work has been acknowledged as it seems too few of these remarkable buildings in France receive the love and care they deserve. Perhaps it is just because there are so many of them? In addition to the truly fabulous boiseries (Directoire/Empire is my thing) the garden follies were out of this world and must surely be contemporary with those of the Petit Trianon and the Desert de Retz. No doubt we will find out! I am in the middle of my own (first) renovation project though it’s minuscule in comparison but I understand fully that the fun is in the process as much as the end result. Luckily, Paris is very easy for me to access so I’m there often but those shots of you after leaving Timothy’s apartment somehow captured so perfectly the atmosphere of Paris that I’m simply itching to go back again very soon!

Cannot wait to see what he does with all that. I feel overwhelmed looking at it; I wouldn't know where to start!
We wouldn't either - Tim is the ultimate "chateau whisperer!"
I would start with the kitchen, the living area and my bedroom... maybe the front "yard"... but in reality I will start with plumbing, electric, gas, roofing, all that stuff and make sure the house is going to last another 200 years.
I would enjoy meeting Timothy and assisting him with renovating that Chateaux
