Finding the best graphics mode on hogwarts legacy can be tough, that's why I created this video.
For me personally the performance mode is the best right now but i have noticed frame drops in every display/graphics mode available, most of all the HFR performance. Hopefully a day 1 release patch will fix these minor frame drops.
This is xbox series x gameplay.
Watch in 4K if you can
If this helps you out please subscribe and leave a like, I'll see you in the next hogwarts legacy vid very soon.

How do I see my in game fps on Xbox series x? The graphic drop is to big imo. I’m on the lg c2 and I’ve been playing on balanced. But I bet the combat would feel way better on hfr.
What settings in balance do you guys use?
Why cant anyone do balanced vs fieldity vs performance
I honestly think this video doesn’t do fidelity Justice as you really notice the difference at a distance things keep their detail.
Also on performance mode lots of npc's are gone. Feels empty
True but I can’t go back to 30fps. Makes me nauseous
What is balanced mode
The balanced option for image quality is not there for me how do I get it?
I dropped my rez down to 1080p & the brought my frames up to 120hz in the xbox settings menu. Showed up for me after that. To cap or uncap though? That is the question...
@@leewilliams6757 uncap is the way to go
Need 120hz display
Ah a Series X video! Perfect! Thanks for making this!
I am sorry did in the performance setting decrease npc quantiy in the game??
Yes it does
I have 1080p 120hz screen and series x . Performance or hfr perf What do you think graphic quality .
Balance mode is 2 K ??
My tv supports 120hz if lower series x down to 1440p so if I do that instead of 4K then should be able to select balance or the hfr mode..I’ll probably do this and select balance 😁👍
HFR Mode is only with 1080p, I use it and it’s amazing, it is my second Playtrough though, so in the first I would use balanced I‘f I were you
If you want to get an affordable 4k 120hz tv look into a Hisense H7G it’s world changing
@@callmesxege1878 the parents from my ex were the ceos of Germany Hisense, I have the same TV it was sponsored by them
I’d like to play on balanced mode with uncap fps, but my screen is a little flickering, it’s really annoying. it’s normal when I turn uncap off. I don’t know what to do
Spending more money to buy a VRR compatible TV.. is one way
@@abhijeetdey My TV is compatible with 120Hz and VRR, BTW
Having the same problem bro! Let me know if you find a fix!!
Read the technical specs about your TV. Most TVs only Support VRR within a Rage (mostly 48-120). If the Framerate drops below the required fps, it will start to flicker
@@MrDraggner21 not the tv is the ps5 limitation of the vrr is only 48 to 120
I genuinely think performance is the best mode in the game. Higher frame rates= best graphics for me
I only have three options for graphic modes fidelity, RT and performance how do you have all these options??
You need a TV/Monitor that supports 2.1 HDMI
you need a vrr (variable refresh rate) screen and hdmi 2.1
@@loreyxiv8736 its about having a 120hz vrr screen you need the hdmi but how do you think the hdmi is more important than having the actual 120hz vrr TV
@@hooper157 You do not need 120hz for either balanced nor HFR performance
@@loreyxiv8736 yes you do
Its too damn difficult dont know which one to use
I'm on PS5. I don't know what FPS Fidelity with Ray Tracing is using but it runs very smoothly compared to many other RT 30 FPS games on PS5. It didn't feel like 30 FPS to me.
I'm feeling ya! Balanced seems to be most ppls jam if you have the TV followed by performance. It seems RT & Fidelity as well as RT Fidelity drop too many frames but it would depend on how bothered you are by it.
@@leewilliams6757 Exactly I prefer to have frames with still amazing graphics than amazing graphics and crap frames. Balanced was the mode for me.
Just to clarify: you don’t need HDMI 2.1 for the balanced and performance HFR modes. My 2017 LG G7 (HDMI 2.0b, no VRR) supports all five modes just fine (PS5, FWIW). Balanced is my favorite mode so far. IMO the two 30 fps modes are just unbearable in terms of judder and blur while performance HFR butchers the graphics and resolution. The only two usable modes are IMO balanced and performance. The former offers good resolution and graphics while being way less choppy than the 30 fps modes, the latter looks a bit worse while being eye-soothingly smooth. I chose balanced as a good compromise between image quality and motion smoothness.
Spiffy.
I played with HFR Performance with LG C1 so far no issues
I have the same TV and HFR looks/plays the best
@@yojz Agreed it does play the best but I then switched to balanced because I wanted slightly better visuals at the cost of FPS.
@@rogerm4a1 I tried balance and totally agree with you. I'm sticking with balance - it's the perfect mix. I do cap the frame rate though to reduce stutter.
yeah it deff runs amazing like that but it takes away a lot of assets, even in balanced mode i notice so much more detail and more assets around the world that really is a shame to lose out on
@@yojz Yep it does play the best, I did the opposite and uncapped it but to each their own.
What's the frames for balanced mode
target 40fps, if you unlock the frame rate, it's close to 50fps.
This is what I’ve been using on PlayStation five and I find it far more enjoyable mainly because the loss in graphical fidelity on performance is just too great. And this is coming from someone who typically only does 60 FPS or above games these days.
@@XiLock_Alotx But no ray tracing :/ the particles in this game are great with rt on
@@XiLock_Alotx yeah same, it looks good, yeah sure 40 frames but way better than 30
How do you get balanced mode?? My ps5 only shows performance or fidelity.
Here is a good question...why do we need to choose a mode....why can't we have all the graphics options with 60 fps...I mean come the fuck on
You can, buy a pc
… because this is a console not a pc running with a giant GPU
Cause money. The made he game for Ps4 as well, that's why they had focus on that. PS5 and most PCs are not powerful enough for raytracing 60fps and 4k. Wish they did 1440p RT and 60 fps at least or had a RT mode that focused on optimising it. But ye ps4.
@kyaryi1277 true I would rather just a 4k 60fps mode...fuck the ray tracing
Higher graphics require more power, thus run slower, that's as simple as that. If you want more frames per second, you have to lower the graphics/resolution so the frames are rendered faster. Same thing on any computer, console, you name it, since the dawn of time. More complex operations = slower to run. That's why there are graphics settings to control what you tell your device to calculate. If you want better graphics/resolution AND higher framerates, well, you need a more powerful device to chew through the rendering faster, but that's not an option on consoles.
Is the performance mode running in 1440p?
Yes
hfr is 1080
@@TheRealDJLukie hfr is 1080
1380p
Fidelity with RT but disable frame cap of course if your TV has VRR to reduce screen tearing effect
I have a C2 and even with VRR, it’s crazy juttery on Fidelity with Ray-Tracing.
VRR only works from 48hz everything below that you will still get tearing
@@simracingchannel7691 wrong information, have no idea where you'd got this, for example lg c1 using default VRR + and free sync premium and no screen tearing event below 30, the screen is capable to lower down to 12 herz, and double frames to reduce tearing, so if i get 40 fps in game i get 80 herz on screen
@@s4d429 my tv has freesync premium to but PS5 only supports VRR from 48hz-120hz. You can search this online or look in the display settings menu. Maybe xbox is different i am not sure on that.
@@simracingchannel7691 i'm using xbox seriex and yes it is different, there freesync premium support and no screen tearing at all and any fps or mode, i can disable fps cap the only thing i can feel while playing is when there is a drop in cut scenes and during gameplay
(ps5) I can't use Fidelity Ray tracing i don't know why 😑 i restart the Game with RT and nothing happens, it stays only in Fidelity ☹️☹️

Playing this on balanced mode on my ps5 with a Acer nitro curved screen with 165hertz. This is 🔥🔥🔥
but its you calling
How people playing on 30fps in 2023? Yes the image quality may take a hit but surely you aren’t going to notice it that much if you aren’t right up close to your screen :s
On a 65 inch 4KOLED fidelity makes a world of difference and every movie you’ve ever seen is 24 fps I beat the first couple dark souls and bloodborn at 30fps I don’t need 60 to be decent at video games. And that’s fine to each his own.
Unless it’s a first person game or a racing game I usually do 30 fps quality or raytracing but I know I’m in a smaller minority with that. But if you exclusively do 60 FPS, you’re missing out on how good games can look.
@@lowsodiumgamer6805 I always pic fidelity on games I don't play FPS or racing games and with my Sony oled 55 inch fidelity look amazing on ps5
The balanced Mode is perfect. 40-48fps With Ray tracing is stunning
Balanced doesn't have ray tracing?
Are you using balanced on a VRR display?
@@lava1rain yes in my Sony a80j without Problems
@@GrinchyBoby in balanced mode there is no ray tracing..
Balance mode just means they found a sweet spot for fps and graphic fidelity and res... personally I think this is the best mode to play and something that maybe shoyld be the standard for this Gen.
Bro why is your channel not getting monetized
I'll keep trying but right now they keep refusing me
I've been playing with HFR for around 25 hours, very smooth. Then i realized i've losing so much details when i switched to Fidelity and RT mode. For example, when you've tasked by Deek to seek his friend to Spider-Cave, HFR losing little spiders details on the entrance.
