I am a person who LOVES dogs, Labradors even more. Being a Labrador Parent myself, I can understand how challenging it can be to raise one, especially for new dog owners. So I started this channel to help everyone take better care of their Labradors.

  • My pup is 5 months old now, and we always tried the 'OW!' method, but that just made them more excited. Now at 5 months, they still nip at hands, and sometimes snap at you when you take a kid's toy or sock out of their mouth (or other things they shouldn't have), and always, ALWAYS bite at your sleeve when petting.

  • I had a Chocolate Lab who was the alpha of the litter and was always biting. My mother suggested I do what is done when children bite. I bit him on his front leg, not very hard but enough o get his attention. It worked!!

  • I used to just grab my lab's tongue when he started nipping my hand (heck my fingers were already in his mouth anyway). Still remember his shocked look every time I did it. Needless to say, he didn't try to nip my hands too many times. 😀

  • I have a 3 month old labrador puppy and he is a little monster. He bites EVERYTHING, he is crazy, I’ve never seen a dog being so energetic. Since we got him, I have tried every method to stop him from biting and he just doesn’t get it🥲 It’s very frustrating and he started getting on my nerves. Some people told me that when he’ll grow up, he’ll stop… but until then he’s going to drive me insane.😀

    • @@vantelac9599 he’s still biting a lot… I gotta say it’s hard to take care of this breed:( I don’t know if all labradors are like this, but mine is giving me a very hard time. Not only with the biting, but also with potty training and other stuff. Every time I take him outside he is trying to find stuff to eat. Grass, sticks, other animals feces, random things that are on the ground…. He cries if we don’t play with him or if we don’t do what he wants and we do give him lots of attention, food and love. Maybe I’m raising him wrong, idk… How is your lab behaving?

    • @@camelred9118 hi! i wouldn’t recommend getting a labrador unless you have a lot of time to take care of him. he needs a lot of attention and training. labradors are very smart, my dog learns pretty quickly but i don’t have enough time to train him properly so he’s still pretty stuborn. me and my partner are going to hire a trainer and i’m sure he’s going to behave after that. it took us a lot of time to stop the biting, labradors are extremely energetic and they love playing with you and chew stuff. he chewed a lot of things in our house, slippers, chairs, pillows, he even scratched a wall with his teeth… so overall, getting a labrador is a lot of work… but if you have the time to really take care of him, then you should go for it! i wouldn’t trade my dog for the world, even if he gives me a hard time.😅

  • My dear lab is now in 5month i tried all these but nothing worked, i shout n ignore and stop playing he still bites after sometime, i threaten with a newspaper then he lies on the floor and again starts biting no matter what he still bites after providing toys bonnes etc, if we have to take him out or leave him play in our family many of us got injured with his bite and with no option left while playibg with us we use the mouth guard these days and he plays well but he wants that removed the moment we do that he wants our hands legs to be chhewed hence my kid is afraid without mouth guard, trainers aaking hefty amt to train

    • That's very normal. Puppies chew and bite. To stop this behavior, redirect his chewing to some toy. It works. Everytime your pup tries to chew on something, show him a toy and try to distract him with it.
