South Dakota really is the best state in the US.
@Conway Twitter You won't regret it but property's gettin expensive 'the Coloradan's' are movin in and prices are goin up. Bro just bought 2 acre lot with water & power to line just outside Deadwood; $150K!
@Conway Twitter Im on the eastern side of SD and visited the black hills countless times, its awesome here but the winters hit way below negatives and the summers go above 100 degrees 😂
@Conway Twitter Yeah I bet so 😂 The summers here arent so bad but they are super humid which kind’ve sucks but the winters are brutal
Too cold for my Texas blood. I’ll just visit
@@nomandad2000 good idea, just bear in mind that April Showers bring out the snow plowers
Black Hills are so beautiful,no wonder the Indians fought so hard to keep it. You guys are an awesome couple, your videos are the next best thing to being there !
The land was stolen from the Native Americans. It is truly a sad and disturbing story of what was done to a group of humans
It's native American, or the human beings and by then they knew gold was there, duh!
The black hills is sacred land to the Sioux Lakota tribes and still is to this day.
Thus... Black Hills Gold and it beautiful 😍!
I live in Wyoming and love it but Deadwood South Dakota is one of my favorite places.
Mine now as well. It's a real, relatively unknown gem. But that will change as the word gets out.
What a beautiful ❤️ view of Deadwood, from that Cemetery. I never knew Wild Bill had such a big grave.
Hello Lord Spoda. Deadwood, the logical sequel to your Sturgis video yesterday. What is good with you is that there is always a moment when we drink a little shot of Jack's in a very nice place.....we shouldn't meet, it would end up in a cure for whiskey , ah ah !
Amazing video, guys. Loved the tour and especially the graves. Thank you for bringing us along. Love from Mass.
Thanks so much!
Cool video! Love seeing anything about the Old West, and seeing the graves is amazing. Thanks for your videos, they're much appreciated.
Thank you for watching, Gary!!
Hi! We are loving your videos and just watched this one last night. Deadwood looks like an amazing place. We had no idea!! It’s beautiful.
Visit The Ten Ask for Lori or Charlie! Love Deadwood!!!
Revisiting the the historic Old West preservation..nice to experience that horse drawn wagon and buy some Old West souvenirs...Fascinating..
Many thanks to both of you for all your excellent videos showing the real America. I live in England and many years ago worked with a man called Joseph Rosa in an office in London. He was a world authority on Wild Bill Hickok and wrote a number of books about him (I have them all, signed by him too!). On a holiday with a group of friends in the early 1990s I asked that we visit Deadwood so that I coud visit the town to see where he was shot and killed, and buried.
I’m in Deadwood/Lead area now. Girlfriend is from here. You missed a lot of history and places, like Homestake mine. Largest gold taken in America for 123 years. Plus all the natural beauty outside Deadwood, creeks and simply amazing trails. Can’t see everything though, I get it. Maybe next time By the way, much of the history in Deadwood is fabricated for tourism. Calamity Jane was buried next to wild bill as a rub on him, not her dying wish, Lol! I’m spending time to gold hunt and find the real history as much as I can, and it’s a beautiful journey of discovery here 👌
Can’t hit everything but hey thanks for adding.. sounds like a really cool place. I want to go. Cemetery is totally cool. Have they ever burned down? Not sure why I asked? The downtown is cute.
If you’re still there you have to have breakfast at the Lee Street Station cafe! Best food and the owners are a fun time! Be careful! Might leave there pretty tipsy!
Love your videos man keep it up very informative and interesting as well cool place and history thanks 🙏 😎
Thank you, Drake.
Nice video. I would like to visit so much ! Thanks you from France 👍
Thanks for watching!
Great place can’t wait to go back.Devil’s Tower must see.
Thank you for making this video. My family and I were visiting that same day! How exciting to be able to see my family in the background at 7:45 minutes into your video. My kids had saw you and your wife and the first thing they said, "mom i think he's a famous KZheadr" Blessing to you both, may Father God grant you both more adventures.
That's cool. :)
When I was in Washington visiting my son I took the day out and drove a couple hours away to where they filmed Northern Exposure which was supposed to be a town in the boondocks in middle Alaska. I mean I recognized everything right away and they still have the radio station in the window that you could look at with the old, old, old radio equipment, the General store and I had lunch at The Brick which looks a lot different than the TV show inside, the outside look the same. I was able to get something off my bucket list because I love that show, maybe one day you’ll make it there if you haven’t already. The town was Roslyn, Washington
Great Video ....Enjoyed Your comentary,,,Thanks
Thank you for the kind words, Gregory.
Been in all those places you were in, one of the best trips of my life was in Deadwood. Planning on going back someday.
Cool video thank you for sharing.
Great video - Thanks.
This vlog is like the movie 🎥🍿 beautiful ♥️ adventure 🦋🌞☘️ enjoying fr jamaica 🇯🇲🌞🏖️😎
I'm thinking of one day flying into Denver, then renting a vehicle to drive up to western South Dakota to see Mt Rushmore and Deadwood area, so I'm looking out for some US-85 footage on the way to Cheyenne.
You should. You'll have a great time. :)
I love this area of your beautiful country.
This place is well worth a visit, key. It's awesome.
Add Thermopolis, Wyoming to your list. Great town, great people, and just a couple hours outside Yellowstone.
That is a cool place. My wife and stayed in Ten Sleep a couple of years back and Thermopolis was one of the sites.
Yeah, it's a cool place. Last time I was there, 20 years ago, you could go to the thermal baths.
Awesome state! Second best old west town to visit! Deadwood is awesome!
It really is. I was surprised. It's kind of a hidden gem, but the word is clearly getting out.
Hi, guys! Excelent video. Regards from Amazonas, Brazil
The original #10 is at the back and down stairs. The original street was much lower than the present main street.
This is a place I will add to my list to vist..Great video..Replying From Maryland....
You won't be disappointed. It's really a fun place to spend a several days, plus it's nearby so many other great places to see. :)
Legends in the basement of the Franklin, best food in town!
Thank you for doing these we recently moved to SD from TX and so it’s a huge cultural shock. It’s funny because in the town I’m in my family is 3 of the the 8 African Americans so we get stared at A LOT! But I’m glad you are doing these because they give me insight on things to do!
Thank you, Eric. :)
How u like it? And is it safe
Fill us in we need an update
Very old town nice video 😎
You use the freeways to get there, and horses trot comfortably at 8 MPH. Can you imagine people commuting back and forth to these towns back then?
Taken several trips out there. You guys only visited a fraction of the interesting and fun bars etc out there. We always stayed at Mineral Palace. They had an excellent restaurant attached to hotel that served breakfast, lunch and dinners, along with a bar.
There's a gold mine tour in Lead that was very informative.
while there i did a horse ride at Andy's stables outside of town. he does a great job and it's not like any other tour ride i've done
Awesome! I love the movie Calamity Jane with Doris Day! Calamity Jane really loved Wild Bill so it would be appropriate for her to be buried next to Wild Bill! Thank you I’m still watching to catch 🆙

Hey Spoda...Deadwood S.D...man,I've always wanted to visit Deadwood, actually I've always wanted to visit that whole area of western South Dakota...and it's interesting seeing all the bikes etc, when you think of Sturgis you don't really think about everywhere else that's close to Sturgis also being effected but it makes sense considering Sturgis is a town of 7000 and it swells up to 700,000+ for the bike rally so those folks have gotta go somewhere as Sturgis can't hold em' all so it completely makes sense for em' to invade rapid city as well as deadwood and all points between etc...I loved seeing the town of Deadwood as well as the cool bikes...cool video brother!
It is awesome there. The entire area around Rapid City. One of the best places in the USA.
You should go in the winter is so nice we are leaving Jan 18 to go up there we stop of in custer for a few days then head up there
An enjoyable video visit to Deadwood, SD. Deadwood, SD is the annual host to the largest motorcycle rider rally in the US. Good video Lord Spoda.
Actually the rally is at Sturgis
No Sturgis is, two different places
@@rossmockler7746 I'm in agreement with you about the rally primarily being held in the town of Sturgis, SD. Good call.
Great video! I almost feel that I was there too!
Perfect!
Like your music choice. Reminds me of that series about building the railroad west, with Anson Mount and Common, can't think of the name of it right now.
Perfect theme music for the intro to his hi-falutin' video!
"Hell on Wheels"
I loved that show. Watched every episode!
@@JoeandNicsRoadTrip Wasn't it great?! Wish they would rerun the series sometime.
I saw it in the middle seventy's before it burnt down the last time . Doesnt look at all as it did with wooden buildings and boardwalks . The brothel was open and the ladys were very nice but my wife said that was enough Lol . Thanks for the look see . . . T/C/E
After Rapid Cit, I, my mom and sister, saw the Deadwood Pageant. That was summer, 1953, at age 13.
Vivi un tiempo en South Dakota huron es muy bonito me gusto mucho en aquellos tiempos
Never seen strips of hotels like that… 🙂Kinda strange. Deadwood is beautiful country side. Thank you for going to the graveyard! Would be satisfying to live there.
Are you a fan of the TV show? I am. This is the first time I’ve seen the real town, though. It’s a very pretty area!
Deadwood is a great little town with a lot of great places to eat good food.
It's an amazing place. We had a lot of fun there.
Deadwood is horrendous and has nothing to offer other than casinos.
Can’t wait for you to visit the Yellowstone region and hopefully you visit my town of Idaho Falls ID. It’s not a big city but definitely the biggest city closest to the Tetons and Yellowstone. It’s kind of a regional hub of Eastern Idaho and Western Wyoming.
I've been to Idaho Falls several times. It is a beautiful little city. We may be able to get there on this trip - if not, it'll be in a couple months. :)
@@JoeandNicsRoadTrip either way, I love watching your videos. I love the review style you do for each city.
Go to Hickok's Hotel and Gaming and sit at the bar for the best comp hot dog and beer you will ever taste. Friendly people! Great stop.
This is close to Sturgis. You can see the bikes as people start the season
Yep. Just a few miles away.
you tellin me they don't sell whiskey in the WILD BILL bar??
No, can you believe that?! It was a bit of a let down.
So similar to Norway!
I saw you guys im from there
cool video,thk
This is so funny, the last time I was there, in 2007, there were 3-4 different saloons all claiming to be the real # 10.
Here we go another gold.
dont forget to quote wu when in deadwood!!
I actually stayed in the bullock hotel because it was haunted. Even stayed in the very room where Seth bullock died. Also went on a ghost tour of the Fairmont hotel across the street and visited the historic saloon number 10. Also went to the Adam's house. All four locations were on a TV show called ghost adventures. The episode was titled ghost adventures halloween special: deadwood city of ghosts
That is cool. Thank you for sharing that. :)
Greetings to you😍
Hey there, Tasos. Just saw your comment. Missed you!!
@@JoeandNicsRoadTrip 𝐧𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦
Good video just a little short i thought, considering all their is to do around their.
I agree. We are going to go back and do another, and this time actually stay in Deadwood.
Remember 'the wife in tow" likes "the noise".
Great video!! Seems like the KZhead channel might have helped pay for a new chest on the ole lady 😂
I live nearby in the bigger city. While cool, after the novelty wears off, I don't know what locals would do in Deadwood for a pastime ? Same with Lead, or any other small town in the hills. Sure there's the hills, but what else ? Things are declining in Rapid as well. Tourism down.
Y'all should have gone to Seth Bullock's grave, it was only few hundred yards from Wild Bill's grave.
You went into Saloon #10 but didn't go to the back where the table is that Wild Bill Hickock was shot and the door that Jack McCall came through??? That's the main reason to go in there.
We are planning a road trip to Yellowstone and Grand Canyon this summer. Already have reservations there, but still need to plan our trip out there and back. How you do find your hotels and book them? Any particular website you prefer?
We use Hotels.com. Every 10 nights gets you a free night.
Sawing the photos of Deadwood on google maps and seeing all the motorcycles parked in the street gave me a smile. It has a cool history. Nice to see a video of it.
Your wife sounds like a real dream to travel with. She called you a dork. lol
Notice shes only in certain videos. I think the lapel mic idea was hers.
When was this ? Going next end of July but before Aug. Need to know what type of clothes to bring
We were there the last week of July. There is a LOT to do and see in that area. You'll have a great time.
Lol Al Sweargen lol Gem Saloon .
Thats me at the stop
Yes, unfortunately the historic Deadwood wasn't kept seperate from modern times. Just as Virginia City Nevada wasn't protected But I appreciate you two covering the historic past and there are certainly interesting places in Deadwood. The Montana Virginia City, Nevada City, Bannock City, and Garnett are very well preserved and kept like they were in the "old days"
To anyone that wants to go here and doesn't want to see the motorcycles, just avoid the last of July and the first 10 days of August. The Sturgis motorcycle rally will be happening and it's super loud and noisy. We've been there in the early part of July and it was pretty quiet
i love going up there cuase my mom in laws live there and works a wild bill bar and love to walk and around and eat best food and walking help my beathing better then living in casper wyoming
It's the busiest town in the USA..
She seems very nice
I love USA
Choose your own adventure number 8 was Deadwood City! 😂
Great video, your wife should take a chill pill with her whiskey!
Each time i miss this state i just revisit far cry 5
President Grant sorely wanted to make peace with the Indians. He had a treaty drawn up at the beginning of his term giving the Indians the Black Hills. Then, a recession occurred. The U.S. needed gold badly. Grant sent Custer in to investigate, telling him if he found anything to keep quiet. Custer found gold and let eastern news papers know about it before Grant.
Gamblewood
👍
👍👍👍👍
5:20 bro had no clue
The best place for a zombie apocalypse breakout.
Names cage. Chris cage
You guy didn't hit the #10 saloon
We did.
SOoo... Let me get this straight, when there's only beer & wine she wants whiskey. But when there's only water she wants beer! And us guys are supposed to know what a woman wants? Otay...
HEY ,HOW COME THOSE BIKES ARE PARKED ON THE MAIN DRAG. I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO PARK IN DOWNTOWN . WHAT GIVES.? OR ARE THEY SPECIAL.?
The week before the motorcycle rally and during the rally, which starts today, the city gives motorcycles parking on main street to allow ample parking for the influx of people. I work on main street deadwood.
He says in the Video That they are not going to Gamble BS . Thats What Most Of Them Are There For. Every one of the Place's Downtown Has Slot Machine's.
JACK McCALL stick to the script
You guys shroom? I got magic mushy tea thattl knock yer wifes pants offf❤ i love fungi
No trash, no crime, just nice white city
Ms. Spoda seems kinda grouchy!
She was overheating a bit. It was really hot that day. :)
Your wife is fun.
Don’t like the tramp stamp
