I lived near Bernardsville NJ. I'd see Mike Tyson out for his morning run almost every day driving to work. He would run in place at the Red light in the middle of town. He would go left and run miles up hill back to his place. I spoke with him a few times while waiting at the light.. The Champ!

I understand what you are saying but, at the end of the day, you still have to beat the other guy to win the fight; clowning around isn't going to do it. I think that all of his contrived bravado was Mayorga's way of masking the fact that "he didn't have it", certainly not against whomever it may have been in the ring with him at the time that he was clowning around. The way I've always looked at it, for *any* sport really is this: If you've got the goods, just go out there and do it, kick a_$, quietly, professionally, quickly (if possible) and, most importantly, effectively. You're there to beat the other guy, not to get laughs from the crowd. The false bravado is simply a mechanism to hide the fact that "ya ain't got the goods".
Was a huge Hopkins guy growing up. Thought he got robbed at least once vs. Roy Jones jr. When he went full blatant racist, he lost the fight, fans and respect. He deserved the shadow realm!…I think I’ll watch it again 👊🏻

little detail you didn't mentioned about Mayorga v Trinidad.... in the face off promo shooting, there was a moment where Mayorga basically ripped the Puerto Rico flag off from Don King's hand, threw it down to the floor and stomp it in front of Trinidad's face. That's why the fight was such a sweet revenge moment for all Puerto Rico regardless of how goofy or skilled you are, that doesn't give you the right to insult and disrespect someone's flag
