This also means that they have to update their exterior and give the car a fresh new look once in a while. However, for the Grand Starex, this might not really be the case. When you think about Hyundai, we can all agree that they have some amazing cars. And with their new upgrades, they have produced some amazing cars, shaking up the entire car industry. This is the same for the 2024 Hyundai Grand Starex. They have made this multi-purpose vehicle stand out among its competition with some new upgrades and features. And even though it hasn’t really gotten a complete overhaul, it is still pretty good.
The major facelift of the Grand Starex came with the second generation in 2020. It was officially unveiled by Hyundai Sime Darby Malaysia in early 2020. Around this time, Hyundai revealed the two new variants for the Grand Starex: the base Executive Plus and the higher-spec Executive Prime. These two new variants came with some revised styling and equipment on both the exterior and the interior. Since then, it has received some upgrades over the years. And now, with the 2024 model here, we can expect to see some minor changes.
It goes without saying that the 2024 Hyundai Grand Starex does not really have that sleek "Sensuous Sportiness" design that is being spotted across most of the automaker’s latest models. However, when you combine the revised headlamp, the redesigned bumper with integrated LED daytime running lights, and the new body kits, the front looks even more purposeful and modern than its predecessor. This gives it a bold look that will make its presence felt.
When you move to the interior, the new Grand Starex is as stunning as it is on the exterior. For starters, it does not come standard with full leather upholstery. In addition, it also features a swivel function on the second-row seats, which gives you that limousine ride experience. The seating arrangement is also highly configurable, and this is all thanks to the stowable middle seats on the front, second, and third rows.
The 2024 Hyundai Grand Starex comes packed with some amazing features, all of which make it more reliable and convenient.
Regarding the safety of the passengers, both variants will come equipped with four airbags, ABS, ESC, Traction Control System, and Brake Assist. In addition to this, you also get a safety power window, automatic light control, a rear-view camera, and a front and rear parking assist system with parking distance warning. All these features have been implemented to ensure that all passengers are safer and more comfortable during the ride.
Just as the interior and exterior are all good, the driving performance is also exquisite. The 2024 Hyundai Grand Starex will get its power from a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder CRDi turbodiesel engine with a variable geometry turbocharger (VGT). This engine will be able to produce about 170 PS at 3,600 RPM and 441 Nm of torque at 2,000 RPM.
Lastly, Hyundai has tried to deliver the best ride comfort by equipping the car with a MacPherson strut up front and a rigid axle 5-link at the rear. This suspension has then been tuned to have a softer edge, which places more emphasis on ride comfort. More so, it ensures all the passengers are comfortable, even during long-distance driving.
It is not a surprise that a car of this size, with its tall center of gravity and boxy shape, cannot really handle corners all that well with noticeable body roll. However, the 5.61-meter minimum turning radius makes the car more maneuverable in urban areas.
There are very few MPVs that can do what the Hyundai Grand Starex has done. And with that, we can be sure that it will stand out with these new upgrades.
