  • Lightin Hopkins was my fathers allllllll time favorite guitar player I grew up listening to My Starter Wont Start This Mornin and Mr. Charlie.... Mr Charlie yo rollin mill is burning down! This brought back so many great memories for me just now and I thank you!!!

  • 💯 Fantastic! ‼️The powers of the universe (and KZhead algorithms) have brought me to you. I’m in this strange intermediate place, where I’m trying to break through a self-imposed ceiling, more focused on finger style, and deeply exploring the fretboard. I wanted to learn a new song to put some things back into musical context. Acoustic blues in the style of Ilya🎸inspired by Lightning, is the PERFECT song for me. THANK YOU for sharing this beautiful song and the tabs, which I’ll transcribe to paper tonight. I will be pulling out the 🎶 Martin 000-17 (black smoke) 🎶for this one! I’ll make it my own, but a tribute to Mojo!

  • Saw Lightning live in a little club in Ventura, CA back in the 60's. So great, all the local guitar players' eyes were glued to his fretboard. What model of Martin is that? Looks great, sounds great. Love my Johnny Cash D-35, but could really use that cutaway for lead playing. Thanks for this great video!

  • Sounded so clean. Getting that thumb to work the bass part like Lightin is pretty difficult as I understand.
