    • @@EOTG_AK Flail mower for sure. Was kind of going back and forth between a rotary cutter and flail mower, but I think I'll get the flail mower, its a lot shorter implement sticking out the back of the tractor, and it'll take care of everything I'd need a mower like that for and not have 5+ feet of mower sticking out the back LOL. Flail mower is about 3x more expensive but I really have no use for a rotary cutter for what I'm doing, the flail mower will easily take care of the pasture and rough terrain cutting that would tear up a finish mower.

I bought a Kubota BX2680 because of the space limitations I have for my own use, and I'm quickly finding out they have quite the little niche for small property side jobs because of its very small size, it'll fit where a lot of other tractors can't fit purely due to their size.

If that were my only tractor I wouldn't run the mulcher. Think there would be too much wear and tear on the tractor. Also adding chains to catch debris is a great idea. • I was considering getting one of these for my 574. We have allot of area that needs a masticator and the local guys are 3-4k per acre. I'm not sure that it would be worth it though because it is questionable even with chains if the tractor could climb the hills some are very steep, tracks are almost a requirement. I'm confinement I can get allot of it though. It helps being in our state forrest ag program as it is a requirement to clean the land up, but it saves thousands yearly on taxes.

  • They're certainly right proud of them things. I'd say a 30hp would probably make a night and day difference on a compact tractor, like a B2920 instead of a 1025R size, but still the undercarriage issues is what keeps me from considering one. You'd have to plate everything under the tractor to consistently use one. Heck, I get worried about stuff slinging under my tractor with just a bush hog in thick brush.

  • Kubota's BX-Series has around 680 pound lift capacity from the 3 point. That mulcher weighs almost as much as the BX LOL. Don't think I'd even want something like that, maybe behind a Kubota LX or L series, but a BX or a B series wouldn't be large enough or heavy enough to handle that thing. If you took the loader off your TYM you'd need some serious front weights to keep the front end of that tractor on the ground LOL. • As always, I appreciate your feedback. I think I will buy the chain guard for the mulcher, but overall, this mulcher is a game changer for me. I have cleared more land in a month, than I cleared in 6 months without it.

    • @@TonysTractorAdventureI have a skidsteer with disc mulcher i use but I find it probably cheaper and much faster to just pay someone to mulch. That is what we do now, a week at a time. Three weeks they cleaned out 29 acres
