Thank you so much for watching and enjoying this video! It makes me so happy to see Oona and Gage's skating reaching a massively deserved audience. We filmed one more routine this day that I will be editing and posting soon, but in the meantime, do check out Oona and Gage Brown's GoFundMe page for their training season here: gf.me/u/zbu2q5. Even though many national and all international competitions have been cancelled this season, that hasn't stopped them from continuing to train, in the hopes they can qualify for Junior Worlds next year and possibly earn a spot at the Olympics one day. Again, that GoFunMe link is here! gf.me/u/zbu2q5
This dance inspired me to get back on my feet and start dancing again after I I haven't been able to due to having to go to physical therapy from something that happened to me in 2013
You are all awesome! Hope to see you at the next olympics!
Your welcome and which one is which cause i am a new fan.
Was a drone in use for the camera work? Amazing! That perspective opens up a whole new world for viewers to watch a routine. It was great!
That was just amazing, both the footwork and the emotions. Thank you for sharing this gem of these young people's work🙏🏻🙏🏻😍
Amazing camera work.
said the same about a minute ago - filming on the ice, by another skater, really worked beautifully.
the skating & performance, choreography & music, ALL brilliant but THE CAMERA WORK 🤯🥰👏👏👏 is mind-blowing and adds even more nuance & dimension to the whole experience
This is how olympics should be filmed!
Okay maybe not but it would be awesome
@@dmitryf6069 i'm not so sure, as you can hear the cameraman breathing heavily at the end as the camera tracks back to the dancers.
Only one thing is missing … a massive standing ovation because they deserve it !!!! Ice-skating so fast, two people creating one powerful energy, and providing such a convincing story. They are absolutly synchrone like i had never seen any ice-skating couple before… ❤😮👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I kind of like it just like that, without the noise and the glamour. Just the music, the sound of the skates on the ice, and this absolute pearl of a performance, it is raw, meditative, perfection!
Wow!!...no words enough

I originally thought they were a married couple, it turns out they’re a brother/sister team.
Acknowledging that the cameraman did a great job, we can't underestimate the perfection of both of the skaters.
I don't know that much about camerawork but the operator must have known their whole routine to follow every move so closely and not to get in a way. The result is amazing! You dont get to see that during the official competitions! And the skaters? One word: PHENOMENAL.

I've never seen such precision and oneness in a pair of skaters, ever. Even the song is a perfect match. What makes it precious is the absence of an audience
Did anyone else cry when they didn’t get that loud applause at the end that they deserved? Wow 💖💖💖
I cried for the beauty of the whole artwork, the experience. I was awed.
They're beyond needing an applause. They love what they do.

Oh I was clapping madly ... my wife, not knowing what I was watching, was giving me a very very strange look hahahahahahaha
The sound of their skates on the ice was like an extra instrument adding intensity to the music. Loved everything!
@Ron Thorp Jealous much?
The deceptive simplicity of the program combined with the exquisite fluidity ... The song adds a grit and darkness to the dance while their talent adds poignant beauty to the song.

We don't realize how much practice this takes. The sounds of the skates made it all the more exciting.

@@magdalene74 nono, it was a person filming it😂
Yeahh
Camera work is incredible, but I landed and stayed because of Metallica. ;) Truth be known, I'd be much more willing to watch a figure skate competition if they skated to Led Zeppelin, The Who, Rush, Metallica, or even Imagine Dragon.
YES YES YES I NEED YUZURU HANYU FILMED LIKE THIS
This is the way every skating competition should be broadcast: without commentary.
I generally like it. It is a competition. It would be nice if it was on a side channel that could be muted. But when Tara and Johnny do it - I mute the volume. I can't stand those 'look at me' frauds!
I watched the Russian cup and championships last year and the way they did it was just perfect. The commentators did not talk during the skating itself. They talked before and after and they pointed out details in the replays, but they allowed you to just watch the skater and listen to the music.
Yeah if you know about ice skating the commentary is really annoying because its just saying what they are doing and if they made a mistake or not but if u don’t know anything but ice skating the commentary can be helpfull
Totally agree
I think the commentators have ruined the performances with their constant chatter. They have Time BEFORE and AFTER for their comments. This sport is also an art form. There is no need to ruin the music and performance with talking!!! Stop it!
I love that they are brother and sister, it's the technical, skill, strength, teamwork, choreography...epic.
I literally couldn't keep my eyes of them. The way they skate, in perfect unison with every twist and every turn. I was mesmerized and drawn in. Perfection!! Cameraman made this video. Knowing every angle, position, when to move in or pull back, and with the music they knew where to be. Awesome!! ❤❤❤
It looks like the camera man is part of the choreography too, he knows every move in advance.... amazing
They do know ahead of time... Or the good ones do - my brother-in-law is a cameraman he's done many olympics...I've known other people who have done sports in concerts They study the choreography ahead of time. But they also have automated multi-cameras which seamlessly looks like it's the same frame when it's not I've also been to those ice capades shows years ago - when a skater falls, they have them come out after the show and redo those sections of there choreography so when it goes on TV it looks perfect I'll tell you that I walked a NYC runway decades ago - you would never recognize me - I didn't... Don't ever rely on cameras as reality. there's probably multi-camera work going on here. You've got a good eye for detail! Happy new year!
@@TheFoolintherainn that’s what I thought, it’s impossible to videotape this without knowing the choreography in advanced, Is impressive that your relative was involved in the Olympics, that’s top of the line stuff

Couldn't agree more. This was so beautiful, I'm holding back tears

They're only JUNIORS and they're skating at this level??? I mean, this is national-level ice dancing! Incredible talent, can't wait to follow their skating career. They have so much potential.
I was thinking the same thing. What a talent. And what fantastic camera work.
As someone who has no idea of ice skating, why would it be national level? Yeah it was super cool but wouldnt they also habe to do jums and stuff like that?
@@shy8311 I think it's mostly their coordination. It looks super easy but it is really difficult to be as fluid as they are here and not trip over your partners boots and stuff. The jumps aren't too complex but bear in mind he has to move smoothly while bearing her weight and do turns which puts a good amount of pressure on your leg. It's so easy to mess up jumps to and spins, the closer or farther away from the ground are very hard to do without slipping as you can fall if not done at the right angle and injure yourself. It's all the centre of balance thing to as you have to make it look good while skating which can get in the way if your being technical about jumps and timing, especially in doubles as timing jumps is a good portion of the marks. Being able to do all this with minimal mistakes is certainly national level skating. Some professionals struggle with this in their 20s and 30s in professional skating yet they were able to do it so well. I would love to do this but sadly had to quit due to injuries, very impressed at their work. Sorry for the rant though
@@shy8311 these two compete in ice dance which is a different discipline to pairs skating which you might be thinking about. Pairs skating has jumps and throw jumps and whatnot. Ice dance is judged more like ballroom
@@shy8311 that's because they're ice dancers, not figure skaters. Jumps and moves like the ones you're thinking about are banned in ice dancing, which is mostly scored on artistry.

I know what you mean(at least, I think/hope I do) but it still reads weird having passion and chemistry ascribed to siblings.
@AunyxTM I agree and understood that's probably what the commenter meant. Those words just have such connotations that it reads ...oddly.
@@fe5018 Passion and Chemistry aren't solely romantic aspects. It's such a shame how that's the automatic default these days. That's another reason why I especially love this routine and this duo: they're fueled by a sense of intimacy that isn't often portrayed in skating. The vast majority of professional figure skating pairs always have this tinge of romantic and wondrous tension in their dynamic, their routines and their costumes, even if the relationship the skaters themselves share is completely platonic and/or professional. With this brother-sister team, we have a pair with a loving essence that almost nobody would mistake for romance, so they're not only delivering medal-worthy routines, they're flipping the stereotype upside down of romantic affection being the most prevalent affection, or the only kind of affection allowed, to be hinted at in the sport, or that the strength of sibling and familial love could never hold up to romantic love.
This is the best figure skating i have ever seen. I keep coming back to rewatch it again and again. I don't do that with others. I love that there are no jumps. Just finding this. The speed they maintain is amazing. Beautiful. Graceful. I need to catch up. Thank you.
This is how we all imagine ourselves when we put on skates and step on the ice, but then you skip and fall
maybe you have the wrong skates :D

This choreography by the Brown siblings was simply breathtaking. And kudos to Jordan Cowan the cameraman.
I was thinking that the camerawork is just insane. I have never seen anything like it. Also are the skaters going 5 times faster than they would be in competition? It seems that way.
I have never seen anything like this. A beautiful couple in a beautiful dance on the ice. I am glad there wasn't any jumps to mess up the dancing. It was beautiful and amazing.
